0 for 2: Professor Beck can't spell "heroes" or "villains"

July 08, 2010 6:16 pm ET by Matt Gertz

On his Fox News program tonight, Glenn Beck teased tomorrow's program on the "history of heroes and villains in the textbooks." One problem: throughout the segment, the blackboard Beck repeatedly referred to was titled "Heros or Villians?" From tonight's Glenn Beck:

Beck should have started a trade school instead of something so ambitious as a university. ;>)

Glenn should start Teabagger Sign Making University instead.
        He's already mastered Spelling 101:

I thought those first two signs ("youth in Asia") were parodies.

This is really just proof that they've only heard these words without once looking up any written data about them. Just like good little viewers.

Har har! I wonder if Dan Quayle is ever a guest perfesser. I like the melding of "Faith" and the "G" in Beck's logo in the top pic. Is he directing a homophobic slur at a founding father now ?

He also looks like he's going into Hulk mode with the way he's holding his arms in that shot.

I have a sneaky suspicion that he's got an original Founding Fathers Dictionary and that may be the way they spelled heros and villians.

Verily, Worrierking. Metinks I should have supposed that whilst composing my earlier comment.

I will give him credit ( along with the perfectly executed "or") for not writing " hero's or villian's ?". The wingnuts love those apostrophes almost as much as capitals and exclamation marks.

The biggest irony of all is that Beck thinks it is us (or more specifically, his audience) who are stupid, which is why he says the things he says: He feels a sense of elitism against us normal folks. And when he tries to be funny, he does so by ripping off other radio hosts' comedy bits (case in point: He aired a joke interview with an impersonation of Al Gore in regards to allegations of sexual harassment the day after Phil Hendrie did a much funnier, as well as more even-handed, Al Gore joke interview.)

It's kind of unfortunate he did this, because it distracts from noting his really disturbing proposition, i.e. that rather than being objective, history exists to provide heroes and villains. Also, raise your hand if Margaret Sanger never came up in any way, shape or form while you were in grade school?

Oh come on now, give Glennie a break. I'm sure by "villians" he was merely referring to those dangerous Vaudevillians, with their subversive music, comedy, animal acts, etc. I mean, think about it - who was president during Vaudeville's heyday? That's right, kids - WOODROW WILSON.
