July 20, 2010 10:45 am ET by Media Matters staff

From Media Research Center vice president Dan Gainor's Twitter feed, accessed July 20:

National Review's Jim Geraghty replied, saying that Gainor shouldn't "offer to finance violence":

Gainor responded, saying it was a "humorous offer," though he'd "love to see the video":

Has anyone noticed that all right-wing humor seems to involve violence against people they don't like?...

Well, when that's all they can think about, obviously it's gonna find its way into their "humor" too.

And based on this particular offer, violence comes pretty cheap.

In addition, have you noticed how when they're not trying to be funny, they're portraying themselves as the potential victims of allegedly violent or despotic left-wingers?

When men are afraid they get angry ... when women are angry they cry ... when men run out of arguments they resort to violence ... when women run out of arguments they resort to walking away ...

      Grayson FTW!

Seriously. The ONLY WAY Republicans can take away the narrative from Grayson is to threaten him with physical violence.

      THEY LOSE. GRAYSON WINS.

A very wise old Quaker lady told me when I was young, "He who strikes the first blow has run out of ideas".

40 years of experience later, I can attest to its veracity and wisdom.

Also: "The mission of the Media Research Center, "America's Media Watchdog," is to bring balance to the news media."

      For Gainor, balance equals violence.

Can you imagine how much the Republicans would be screaming "bloody murder" if some liberal media critic had proposed the same thing with, say, Michelle Bachmann? We wouldn't hear the end of it. So why should Republicans get a free pass when they do it? I hope Thom Hartmann grills him good on his radio show tomorrow (he's scheduled as one of his guests.)

I've tweeted with this clown before... it would have basically been a waste of time if it wasn't so much fun getting under his skin and having his henchmen try and gang up on me.
