UPDATE: Beck removes favorite Twitter posts including most recent from White Nationalist “forum”

August 04, 2010 1:01 am ET by Karl Frisch

Earlier this evening I noted that Glenn Beck had marked a Twitter post from a “White Nationalists” website as one of his favorites:

Beck (or the person controlling his official “verified” Twitter account) has no removed all of the Fox News host’s favorite posts:

But MMfA has documented it, complete with screen capture. I'll be interested to see if there's any explanation or (yeah, right) accountability.

Evidence from MMfa won't matter; he'll deny it ever happened and say, "Who are you going to trust- ME or LIBERALS?"

Or since there's photographic evidence, to quote Richard Pryor, "...me or your lying eyes?"

Or Chico Marx in Duck Soup, "Who you gonna believe, me or your own eyes?"

Yeah, didn't Glenn tell his followers not long ago to scour the internet looking for negatives about the left, and then tell them to make sure they took screen shots or burned pages to cd's because "they will scrub them"?

It looks like Glenn's following the "playbook" for radicals, too.

So "embrace white culture" is (or, was, apparently) one of Beck's favorites? Not surprising, I suppose. Btw, Beck, when are you going to get around to giving us your definition of "white culture"? You refused to answer Katie Couric when she asked but clearly you do have an idea of what it means to you. Please, Beck, enlighten us.

Alexander Zaitchik's "Common Nonsense" correctly points out that Beck doesn't need to define "white culture", because he's spent his career defining, and deifying, it: it's his shorthand for midwestern, Protestant, small-town, completely homogeneous "real America". So really, a biracial college graduate from Chicago by way of New York by way of Hawaii was never going to get Beck's White Culture Seal of Approval no matter what he did.

Yes, no doubt that's Beck's idea of what white culture is. However, when he goes on national TV and declares that the President hates "white culture", he should at the very least describe his definition of it when asked in an interview. If he has built his career on that particular idea, then he should have no problem explaining that to us instead of running away from it.
