Sharron Angle: Fox News is part of my new $1 million fundraising "push"

September 10, 2010 4:45 pm ET by Eric Hananoki

In an email sent this afternoon, Nevada Republican Senate candidate Sharron Angle wrote that she will appear on Fox News' Hannity as "part of our push" to raise $1 million online before the end of September. From her email:

Today I am asking you to help me give Harry Reid a "September to Remember".  I am launching an unprecedented online push to raise $1 million dollars, reach 75,000 Facebook fans, and increase our Twitter followers to 6,000- all before the end of September.

As part of our push, I will be on the Sean Hannity show this at 9pm (EST)/6pm (PST) to discuss why I am the right choice to replace Tax-and-Spend Harry Reid.

While Sean Hannity's show tonight is a great way to reach voters, you can make just as much of an impact by participating in our "September to Remember" campaign.

[...]

"Watch Sean Hannity's show tonight at 9pm (EST)/6pm (PST) and if you agree with me, please spread the word through Facebook and Twitter". [emphasis in original; h/t: Jon Ralston]

Angle's view of Fox News as a fundraising outlet isn't a surprise: she previously told Fox News reporter Carl Cameron that she needed the press to be her "friend" and allow her to give out the address of her fundraising website. In July, Angle suggested that she frequently appeared on Fox News -- the home of softball Angle interviews -- because they allow her to make fundraising appeals to viewers.

On Fox, fundraising appeals for Angle don't even require her presence. Fox News contributor Dick Morris has told viewers to give money to an anti-Harry Reid group he's advising, and "be helpful" to her.

Maybe she can destroy the Republican party and Fox News all by herself.

It seems the only way to diminish the Fox Republican Army is for these flamethrowers to get on and say such outrageous crap that everyone has to distance themselves. Of course with the level of stoopid out there, it may be that flamethrowing is on the fast track to be the new norm. After all, look how much press that whack job Jones is getting.

I wonder how many of those 75,000 Facebook fans will actually be eligible to vote for her? I wonder if she knows only residents of NV can vote for her?

Aren't you holding the bar a bit to high with that question?

Maybe. It seems like she's pretty much ignoring her state in favour of going on Fox to beg for money. As much as I don't like Dino Rossi (my states Republican senate challenger) I don't see him on Fox News begging for money every other day.

Angle is a new type of Trog. She has absolutely no clue how to flush a toilet, much less how to run a country. Seriously, I wonder if this woman and many of the other Baggers running for office know that there are three branches of government. These are the type of people you see on Leno's JayWalkers - not exactly the group of folks you want running the government of United States.

An article listed at HuffPo talks about how these yahoos are refusing to debate. I think that is just plain tragic. Here we are in a serious financial situation, two wars (I know Iraq officially ended but. . .), serious issues abroad and we have politicians that won't even take questions from reporters? SERIOUSLY!! And people are going to vote for these clowns? This country has fallen so far off the rails it is unbelievable.
Debate is something every politician, at every level, should be REQUIRED to do. People should demand it. Instead, some of the trolls at HuffPo are saying that their candidates shouldn't debate, knowing that if they did they would demonstrate their stupidity for all to see.

I wonder if she can tell the difference between this and something else:

When it comes to fundraising, I doubt she cares. She'll be more than happy to take money from people who can't vote for her.

Well, if she gets every Teabagger in Nevada to "friend" her on Facebook, 75,000 people would be less than 10% of the voting population of Nevada, so that could be doable.

I don't know why these idiots think that the new "cool" is to demand attention from news outlets so that they can pitch their talking points and then tell the press what to go do with themselves when they want to ask her some questions.

Could you imagine if she ran for President? She'd take questions only from Fox and appear only on their network for interviews and speeches. All her communication would come from Fox.
