James O’Keefe isn't a punk. He's worse.

September 29, 2010 12:30 pm ET by Jamison Foser

Just a quick follow-up on James O’Keefe: It’s easy to describe what O’Keefe allegedly tried to do to CNN reporter Abbie Boudreau as a “stunt” or an attempt to “punk” her. CNN used the word “punk” in its headline and “prank” in a caption, and I used the word “stunt” earlier today. None are sufficient.

Riding a motorcycle on a wire stretched across the Grand Canyon is a “stunt.” Wearing a chicken suit to mock a political candidate for refusing to debate is a “stunt.” Unscrewing the cap on a salt shaker so your dining companion over-salts his soup is a “prank.”

Lying to a reporter in order to lure her onto a boat under false pretenses, then secretly recording her reaction to being confronted in an enclosed, unfamiliar environment by a strange man with handcuffs and sex toys, all while disparaging her as a “bubble-headed-bleach-blonde,” is not a “stunt.” It is the vicious, misogynist act of a twisted person whose 15 minutes should have expired long ago.

If James O'Keefe were in jail where he belongs he'd be a real punk.

        Shaggles, Now that's just Mean.
Do you want to see James O'Keefe bent over so another Prisoner can Split his Seam?
James O'Keefe needs help. I was thinking of a long talk with Dr. Laura Schlessinger.
But if he goes to Jail, i'm happy with his Prison Celly being the Penetrating Messenger.

        Speak truth to power.

Why is rape so horrible unless it happens to men in prison?

What O'Keefe did was wrong, but he shouldn't be raped for it. No one should..

He wasn't literally suggesting that he be raped in prison.

No, he didn't "literally" say that. He just implied that he thought it would be acceptable and justified, and a lot of "liberals" no doubt agree.

The sad thing about this is that it wouldn't have been that difficult for O'Keefe (or others in the Breit-o-sphere to help me discredit CNN in honorable ways).

Lonewacko Blog - what a great and appropriate name for you. I read your link. I don't think you want honor. You want attention. Write a blog and say what you want to, but your note in this thread is a bit bizarre. It's not about you, dude. Why do you wish to insert yourself into the news so badly? You could spend your whole career finding fault with the media... as Media Matters does. Join their ranks if you want attention.

C'mon. He can't race-bait all the time. He needs to let out his hatred of women to break things up. I would look for him to attack the gays next. Only not any closeted gay republicans.

There are STILL people who believe that ACORN was some evil, Marxist group trying to overthrow the American way of life. We have O'Keefe to thank for that.

They call that kidnapping and unlawful imprisonment if you escape.
If you do not they call it the "choice" you make to be a "sex worker".

According to Wikipedia, he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of entering a Federal office building under false pretenses and among other sanctions was sentenced to three years' probation. Don't activities of this sort revoke the probation?

As I said on another thread (and it got multiple thumbs down because it scared the righty trolls a lot because it was so spot on!)....

It's demeaning her with a personal attack, since he can't actually attack the media's work product.

It's exactly what we see from FoxNews and from our resident trolls - if you can't refute what someone is saying, you distract with some irrelevant personal attack that has nothing to do with the substance being discussed!

It's worked quite well for them at times! It sucks that they're willing to poison our national discourse like this to help their political causes.

He's definitely worse than a punk. He's dishonestly pushing a partisan political agenda, and because he can't actually DEFEND that agenda, or defend his behavior, he does all that he CAN do - attempt to make baseless personal attacks on the reporter who's fixing to expose him and his buddies!

It's the same thing that they did to Senator John Kerry! Kerry had an admirable military record, and President Bush did NOT. Bush's supporters couldn't stand idly by and allow a fair comparison between the two men's records, so they baselessly attacked Kerry's to distract the public from Bush's!

O'Keefe can't defend himself from the accurate portrayal that this journalist was going to create, so his only option is to try to smear her with sexual innuendo.

The a-hole would be the poster who, rather than actually making a comment on that actual topic of an MMFA article, chooses to use another poster's comment as a springboard to make a baseless personal attack!

Hint - that'd be YOU, doofus.

I DON'T actually "go off on jags whining about getting thumbs down" though, liar.

                Never have, never will.

I DO point out the disreputable behavior of those who THINK that thumbing down a post because of the person who MADE the post, but I don't care about them at all for ANY other reason, and I've explained that countless times, doofus.

Like I wrote above, the a-hole would be the person who STILL hasn't actually addressed the TOPIC here, and instead has now made 2 posts that are both solely baseless personal attacks!

Good job continuing to dig that hole.

As I said on another thread (and it got multiple thumbs down because it scared the righty trolls a lot because it was so spot on!)....

Translation: I am great! I am good! Trolls cower in fear before me! Me me me me me!

Seriously, what is with your compulsion for patting yourself on the back? This is the primary reason why so many people dislike you. Your constant boastful arrogance is off putting. You expel phrases like "as I've repeatedly shown/as I've proven before/as I'm always pointing out" like normal people expel breath.

No one is scared of you, princess. No one at all. You accomplish nothing by bloviating on an anonymous comment board. Take a step outside, see what's shakin' in the real world.

No translation from you needed, doofus. My post was quite clear.

Pointing out how dishonest YOUR side is is NOT equivalent to "patting myself on the back", dummy!

And the next time I need advice from a poster who has virtually no credibility here, I'll ask you. Otherwise, get a clue, moron.

It's ridiculous to assert that no one is scared of my posts here - that's why I am stalked and my posts targeted!

I DO mention that I am repeating something I've previously said when I am repeating something that I've previously said, because it's SIGNIFICANT that the same thing that was said before applies in a different place! It is worth mentioning, idiot - that something is yet another example in a string of examples!

You are the one who needs to get a clue here. The primary reason why people don't like me is because I ruin the days of the troll posters. A secondary reason why people don't like me is because I've garnered the wrath of those troll posters. A third reason that people don't like me is because I've told them off when they deserved to be told off, and they'd have preferred to not have been told off.

None of those reasons are justification for ME changing MY behavior.
