December 09, 2010 10:32 pm ET by Media Matters staff

On December 9, Glenn Beck silently wrote on his chalkboard, "DEC 9, 2010, The Revolution is NOW":

One possible explanation is that Glenn Beck is psychotic.

        Yep. Psychotic and dangerous.

He also said on today's program that "I'm going down swinging with peace and love in my heart."

Onward Christian soldiers, marching as to war.....

He'll go down swinging my azz. If trouble were to start all Beck would do is run. If the baggers think Beck will be fighting by their side, I'd like to see the look on their face when they see the pictures of him and his gold leaving the country.

        Possible?

I suggest the word is demonstrable.

If he were a lab mouse we'd put him out of his misery, but he is human and we liberals respect human life and don't threaten violence.

In Glenn's case, he should merely retire to a remote island, Alejandro Selkirk comes to mind, where he won't hurt anyone and nobody will bother him.

Actually those two descriptors of Glenn sound truly aggressive and not peaceful at all. However, Beck seems to be cracking up lately. My guess is that the side effects of his long years of drinking are finally big-time catching up with him, It sounds like he is hearing things that are not there and things being spoken to him when no one is talking to him,

Hitler was abducted by aliens just before the end of the war and they mated his dna with alien dna, then dumped Hitler back into the bunker, and, of course, Beck is the progeny of that hybrid clone.

Notice how he says "some of the people are progressives" the same way he would say "some of these people are scum" then in the next sentence calls the people who are normally on his side "stupid" in the most polite way possible.

Then he goes on with his normal sociopath paranoia. Saying "don't listen to anyone but me. I have all the answers. Sell everything you don't think you need and buy gold from goldline. and store food from this other place that pays me."

Beck is a good example of a stoner who no longer is consuming drugs.(for the time being)
He's a big "student" of prewar Germany and the methods of media manipulation employed, etc.
There was another master manipulator who used similar ambiguous "nice" terms like "Hope", "faith", "charity" and who spoke and wrote thousands of times about "restoring Christianity", back in those days.

I think what he is saying here is that his audience is too stupid to play 3D chess. And apparently too stupid to realize that he just called them stupid. Mostly because, by accusing his enemies of playing 3D chess, he has demonized them by pointing out their evil intellect, and now his audienced is riled at the "intellectuals" who think they know everything. When, as they all know, can't be right: Becky is the only one that knows everything. And he isn't an evil intellectual.

2000 Ducati 748. Somewhere arround 30,000 miles. A few carbon bits here and there. An aftermarket set of risers for the clipons means I can waft down the highway and still have feeling in my fingertips at the end.
Its gorgeous, tiny, and makes enthusiatic sounds. Not as strong as the atypical 600cc Japanese gofaster, but few can match its handling.

I been trying to ID yours as well. Looks like a good machine to cruise about on, but I can't see a lot of detail in the pic.

Hehe, yeh, taken on a phone. It's an '86 Yamaha 700 Maxim. Custom leather seat (by me). For years was my only transpo, but last year, while the docs were trying to figure out why I hurt so much, the consensus was that having only the bike for trans was what was causing it, or at least exacerbating it, so these days I only ride if the weather isn't nasty. Turns out the bike had nothing to do with the abdominal pain, but now I have a minivan. Which means that I no longer have any excuse not to fit into the rotation with my wife picking up the kid from day care. rats.

Interesting. In just the time I've been watching Beck (not too long) it seems he's changed somehow ... like he really works hard at finding all of these imaginary dots to connect, and he's so wrapped up in his conspiracy worldview that he's losing what little he had to lose to begin with. And of course, there's the classic sign of a true tinfoil-hat type, the way every new development is worked into the grand conspiracy... Net Neutrality has been planned for years to cause the Wikileaks scandal? Huh? I really get a kick out of his frequent heavy sighs, too: must be tough having the weight of the world on your shoulders, when you're the only one who can see THE TRUTH! Poor lunatic.

The republicans are so completely vapid. They exist in another dimension, or they channel crazy people. As if they could say anything. Their side has nothing to complain about. They got their illegal wars, they got their tax cuts, they got their EVERYTHING THEY WANTED short of obama giving presidency to Palin. NOTHING is good enough. No amount of concession makes it past the right wing blinders.

Its how they can yell about Obama taking two whole days to catch the brave men from Wikileaks: So in 2001, 3000+ people were killed by a man when the WTC was destroyed. When did we capture bin Laden again...? Oh, Bush shut down the group that was looking for him. Bush didnt catch him at all. But the government sure gets efficient when it wants to hurt people who demand governments be held responsible.

Thanks, right wingers, for getting the point so totally wrong you're dooming us all.

regardless of the morality or legality of the invasion of iraq, there still is the issue of the wisdom of the action.i take no pleasure in saying i told you so,but it was so obvious that overthrowing saddam was going to be a disaster.any fool could see saddam was a megolomaniac, but he was not suicidal. he would never attackj the u.s. his bluster was for public consumption.we knew long before 911 that his wmd programs were dismantled. we knew saddam was an enemy of al-quida and the jihadist and fundamentalists.we knew that yes saddam was a killer who had dozens of his people executed every year, but we also knew the kind of chaos and destruction his overthrow would bring about. army intelligence sure as hell knew.anyone with a half a brain should have known that america invading a muslim land in the mideast was going to create more hatred not goodwill.

They say liberals are irrelevant and marginal while at the same time claiming they are about to take over the world at any minute.

Eventually when it is all said and done, the Iraq invasion will be blamed on progressives... Just keep watching the chalk board.

            Read U.N. Resolution 1441.
"Resolution 1441 stated that Iraq was in material breach of the ceasefire terms presented under the terms of Resolution 687. Iraq's breaches related not only to weapons of mass destruction (WMD), but also the known construction of prohibited types of missiles, the purchase and import of prohibited armaments, and the continuing refusal of Iraq to compensate Kuwait for the widespread looting conducted by its troops during the 1991 invasion and occupation."

The fact that Iraq did not live up to the terms of the cease-fire is reason enough to invade Iraq and change the regime. Iraq had used WMD's so why was it not plausible to think he still had some.

"[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs." -- From a letter signed by Joe Lieberman, Dianne Feinstein, Barbara A. Milulski, Tom Daschle, & John Kerry among others on October 9, 1998

"Saddam's goal ... is to achieve the lifting of U.N. sanctions while retaining and enhancing Iraq's weapons of mass destruction programs. We cannot, we must not and we will not let him succeed." -- Madeline Albright, 1998

Your're wrong. The US didn't have authorization from the UN to
invade and there were inspectors on the ground in Iraq telling us they weren't finding anything. SH was complying with the demands from the UN and US before the invasion. It is clear that we were lied into the invasion.

U.N. Panel Rejects Bush Stance on Military Action

              By Colum Lynch
              Washington Post Staff Writer
              Wednesday, December 1, 2004; Page A15

UNITED NATIONS, Nov. 30 -- An influential U.N.-appointed panel challenged the Bush administration's right to use military force against an enemy that does not pose an imminent military threat. The 16-member panel, which was appointed by U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan after the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, said in a long-awaited report that only the U.N. Security Council has the legal standing to authorize such a "preventive war."

The panel's findings reflect persistent international unease over the U.S. invasion of Iraq last year without an explicit council endorsement, noting that "there is little evident international acceptance of the idea of security being best preserved by a balance of power, or by any single -- even benignly motivated -- superpower." It also recommends the establishment of five guidelines that must be met before force can be legitimately used -- including a determination that force is used as a last resort and that the threat is serious.

"If there are good arguments for preventive military action, with good evidence to support them, they should be put to the Security Council," the report said. But "in a world full of perceived potential threats, the risk of the global order . . . is simply too great for the legality of unilateral preventive action . . . to be accepted."

Iraq war was illegal and breached UN charter, says Annan

Share28 Ewen MacAskill and Julian Borger in Washington The Guardian, Thursday 16 September 2004 02.28 BST Article historyThe United Nations secretary general, Kofi Annan, declared explicitly for the first time last night that the US-led war on Iraq was illegal.
Mr Annan said that the invasion was not sanctioned by the UN security council or in accordance with the UN's founding charter. In an interview with the BBC World Service broadcast last night, he was asked outright if the war was illegal. He replied: "Yes, if you wish."

He then added unequivocally: "I have indicated it was not in conformity with the UN charter. From our point of view and from the charter point of view it was illegal."

Just because Resolution 1441 was breached does not automatically mean that military intervention was warranted or required. In order to legally commit war, the US has to get official approval from the UN, like they did during the 1991 Gulf War. The fact that the US didn't makes this war illegal.

Also, I'm certainly not going to take anything from a site called "RightWingNews" seriously. Try diversifying your sources instead. Try AljazeeraEnglish, they are 10 times more credible than any BS right-wing blog.

Like Fox news, the Bush administration had an agenda that would not allow reality to get in its way. Former weapons inspector Scott Ritter and others had a different view on Iraq that was effectively marginalized before the invasion. There was no active threat that required immediate action in Iraq.

Its kind of like Beck's war on progressives. The narrative fits the agenda but really, there is nothing there.

The more contradictory his rhetoric becomes the further he goes out into the fringe. Beck fans can't believe in reality and Glenn Beck. It's like trying to a foot on two pieces of free floating ice that are slowly moving apart. At some point, you have to choose either one or the other piece of ice to stand on.

He didn't seem like a guy who was worried about the second day of revolution.

          it's a long article so I'll just give you the relevant part of it;

"A couple days after Kelly's wife, Terry, had a miscarriage, Beck called her live on the air and says, 'We hear you had a miscarriage,' " remembers Brad Miller, a former Y95 DJ and Clear Channel programmer. "When Terry said, 'Yes,' Beck proceeded to joke about how Bruce [Kelly] apparently can't do anything right -- about he can't even have a baby."

He shouldn't have said it, plain and simple, but it was 20+ years ago and the only thing I can find about it was that he got fired because fellow employee's complained about it not the woman, Terry!! He seems to be a better person now....Like me!! I have learned from my mistakes :)

It isn't politically correct to NOT accuse a lawfully elected congressman, who happens to be Muslim, whether or not he is working with the enemy.

He implied that Ellison is an enemy of the United States simply because of his religious belief. Just because it was in the "preamble" to an interview and just because Beck wormily couches his "question" with the cowardly "I'm not asking this, but people are maybe thinking of asking this" BS, doesn't make his remarks to Rep. Ellison any less disrespectful (and stupid).

I hate him because he uses his national pulpit to start rumors, revise history, advance conspiracy theories with no basis in fact, and because he then goes and cynically brags to Forbes magazine that he has no interest in politics. He says he's just in it for the money. He made $32 million last year, so he's doing that right.

"We're an entertainment company," Beck says.

political correctness comes in many forms. there are just as many on the right trying to ban books or remove the truth from school curriculums as there are on the left.its rightwingers who want to ban halloween because of its supposed satanic rituals etc.etc.glenn beck is not someone who is standing up to political correctness. he is a liar who is laughing all the way to the bank. when he is off the air he claims that he is just an entertainer. but he is very aware of how riled up and fearful some of his fans are. he has clearly stated that those who disagree with him are evil and plotting to use violence against him and all true americans.he does not care about the results this will have. thats why i hate him

A mistake? No, a mistake would have been letting slip that Bruce's wife had had a miscarriage if Bruce hadn't chosen to make that public. What Beck did was cruel and uncalled for and should be enough for any decent person to conclude that he is a vile and pathetic excuse for a human being. Glen Beck is a sociopath - he doesn't care who he harms so long as it improves his financial position or makes the rubes adore him even more.

Glenn Beck's dangerous rhetoric concerns me as much as the next person. However, I have started to feel that there is NO WAY he actually believes the lies he spits. He is a propagandist, and a brilliant one at that. A self avowed Orson Welles fan, I honestly believe that Beck is simply taking Welles' "War of the Worlds" hoax to new and extreme heights, building a media empire off of it. I predict that in 20 years, Media Studies classes will be studying what Beck did during this time. It is upsetting and worrisome to those of us who are sane, but if we view this objectively, Beck is one of the most brilliant propagandists that the American Right have produced over the last few years.

I think he does believe. I think Beck convinced himself of a few things years back and to keep up the illusion, he has to go farther down the road of conspiracy and fear mongering.

If progressives are evil, going back to the turn of the last century, then certainly they must be everywhere, plotting and preparing for attack.

If the revolution has begun, then we can we expect Beck's listeners to begin to grab their weapons any day now.

I think Glenn suffers from a common neurological disorder in his brain. He probably has a lack of neurons, and an abundance of morons.

Yikes!!!! This is like listening and watching Oral Roberts on his TeeVee scam show 20 years ago... So Cluster-Fox is now doing old-timey evangelistic preacher shows?? Hummm.. What will Billo the clown, hanratty and gretter do now?? How do they compete with old-timey preachers??

I can just picture whole 'living areas' of nursing homes and assisted-living centers with this gospel blaring for hours at a time and organizing taking on a whole different meaning!!!

This man is truly a prophet of lunacy.... and it's ALL a lie.. But, what great entertainment if you're in the mood for a mind-wipe..

I guess Beck is in a hurry to get his civil war started since he's running out of time. His last sponsor is going down for fraud and Beck will probably go down with them, so he has a new sense of urgency.

My attempt at a Glenn Beck monologue:
"Aww gee Wally, doze nasty libwul, socialist, fascist, communist, uber left wing progwessive sons of motherless goats are twying to take over da world. Day want to enslave us and make us work 20 hours a day in the salt mine for a handful of survival seeds, we're doomed.
America....you're being conned....i mean...i don't wanna....i love it when a man touches my....this is how it is america. The republicans are the first political party in history to have their own cable television network and they are using it against you. They are using WORDS to trick you.....they know you're not too smart and only have to be told something 3 times for you to believe it so they keep hammering those nasty sounding WORDS to divide you. You know their favourite theories...divide and conquer, shock and awe....you have to wake up America....*sniff, sniff*, everyone now has a label, you're a far left loony liberal or a neo con teabagger...they want you to hate each other. Thats why you're on the internet hurling insults at someone who ,if you saw them in the street ,would probably give them a polite nod and a wave. Don't let them fool you america, its not to late....show these protaganists of hate that you are better than them...COME TOGETHER AMERICA...tell fox and the republicans that you will not be labelled and you won't live your life in constant fear...I mean....has your life really changed that much....Good night america and Darwin be with you

I am hoping that the FCC will finally catch up with him and the racism, lies and treason that he spews over the public airwaves. Rev. Sharpton is leading the way against Rush Limbaugh's racist rants over public airwaves which are licensed. The public has a right to know information based on truth. It does not have to put up with acts of verbal treason, racism, bigotry and calls to riot. Fox has been getting away with dragging our nation through the mud and muck of falsehoods. It is time the FCC held them accountable. Any member of the public may complain to the FCC. Remember the wardrobe malfunction at the Super Bowl? What Limbaugh, Hannity and Beck have been allowed to get away with has nothing to do with individual free speech, they cannot lie in advertizing, they should not be allowed to perpetuate lies in order to deceive and enrage.

. . .this is all weirdly reminiscent of Russell Crowe in a Beautiful Mind, the blackboards, the linking of unlinkable ideas, people, events.

there is no Jennifer Connelly to give him a contact with reality

he is yelling fire in a crowded theater without caring about the consequences

Instead there are all those real Americans who cheer him on and wan't to believe all this.

Being lied to and manipulated does not bother his fans at all. For some reason they would rather fear an imminent attack from progressives than actually face those that are actually manipulating and taking advantage of them.

Have come to the conclusion that Beck could randomly shoot a member of his Friday audience, on air, and the Beckrophiliacs would defend him. In their eyes he can do (or say) no wrong.

beck fans do realize that if this was the 1970s ,Beck would appear in bad suits with a cheesy moustache spouting liberal bromides and slogans and calling the right wing fascists and traitors etc. the man has no convictions. he is simply a hired gun for whatever view will make him some money.intersetingly, regardless of what political affiliation he is supporting at the time ,beck will always be barking about danger and revolution.
