Norquist: "Democrats Are Like A Teenage Boy On A Prom Date"

In a July 31 op-ed for The New York Times, Frank Bruni described a recent conversation he had with Grover Norquist, head of the American Taxpayers Union. Bruni reported that Norquist stated: "Democrats
are like a teenage boy on a prom date. ... They keep asking. Maybe she'll
say yes. 'No! No! No!' But they have to keep asking. It's part of their
DNA -- teenage boys and Democrats."
From the Times:
[Norquist] has emerged as the most visible mouthpiece and muse of the lower-taxes, less-government troops that have played a major role in the debt crisis. And he provides a handy window into them.
His assessment of Obama was succinct: "The president of the United States is a left-wing ideologue."
His analysis of the Democratic Party's values and tactics was unambiguous -- and uncomplicated by the deficits racked up under Obama's predecessor.
"Their game plan has always been spend, spend, spend, then come and ask Republicans to be responsible and raise taxes," he said.
"Democrats are like a teenage boy on a prom date," he added, proceeding to act out multiple parts in an imagined conversation, which is one of his favorite things to do. "They keep asking. Maybe she'll say yes. 'No! No! No!' But they have to keep asking. It's part of their DNA -- teenage boys and Democrats."

Conservatives would just rape the girl. "It's part of their DNA."
Democrats absolutely should stop asking republicans for anything, but they absolutely can't stop doing it. Asking for republicans to contribute to something positive is like...
(Hmm, can't complete a null statement.)
We should just stop asking because we know that the republicans aren't going to work with us. Period. We should also remember this when we are in the minority of Congress and the White House contains a republican.
See, we won't though, and here's why.
I think us asking, us trying to compromise shows that we, the democratic party, are actually trying to do what is actually best for America. Republicans are trying to do what is best for them to try and win the White House in 2012. And that's it. They care about power. We, to a greater extent, care about America, and Americans, and yet, we are the ones constantly portrayed as "un-American", because we believe in radical things like, we, as a country, should take care of ALL that live within it, and not just the rich folks.
Social Security is a perfect example. They don't hate SS because it's "wealth redistribution" or because it's bankrupting our government -- they hate it because it's a constant, huge stream of money that private businesses can't access or profit from. The financial sector salivates at the thought of all the fees they could be skimming off it everyone who pays into SS were investing through them instead.
"To be tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, an organization must be organized and operated exclusively for exempt purposes set forth in section 501(c)(3), and none of its earnings may inure to any private shareholder or individual. IN ADDITION, IT MAY NOT BE AN ACTION ORGANIZATION, I.E., IT MAY NOT ATTEMPT TO INFLUENCE LEGISLATION AS A SUBSTANTIAL PART OF ITS ACTIVITIES and it may not participate in any campaign activity for or against political candidates."
You're breaking the law, my friend, and cheating the IRS and the federal government out of taxes due on your organization's "donations" (income). You are a perfect example of a right-wing hypocrite and should be hauled up on a tax-evasion charge immediately.
