Fox's Brainless "Brainroom" Attacks Obama For Birthday Fundraiser

August 04, 2011 12:22 am ET by Adam Shah

On his Fox News show tonight, Sean Hannity attacked President Obama for hosting a birthday fundraiser, claiming that Obama was "turning his back on the American people" at a time when the nation is struggling with debt and a slow economy.

During the segment, Hannity aired a graphic prepared by the "Fox News Brainroom" that claimed Obama had headlined 37 "re-election fundraisers" "to date," while President George W. Bush had only headlined three fundraisers "as of June 2003."

Fox graphic

First of all, the numbers shown for Bush are simply untrue.

In June 2003 -- shortly after Bush had declared "Mission Accomplished" in Iraq, but with fierce fighting still going on in the country -- Bush headlined re-election fundraisers on June 17, June 20, and June 23. Bush then capped off the month with two fundraisers on June 27.

Note to Fox's "Brainroom": That's five fundraisers in June 2003 alone. And these are just the events in which Bush made a speech that was posted on his White House website.

Here's a clip of Hannity's attack on Obama:

There is also the question as to why Fox did not look at Bush and Obama fundraisers for a comparable time period. Perhaps this explains it: The Washington Post reported on August 3, 2003, that Bush landed the day before at his Texas ranch "for a month of fun and fundraising" (retrieved via Nexis). The Post also reported that "[b]etween them, Bush and Cheney plan to travel to 13 of their own fundraisers during August, and each plans to make a fundraising stop for another Republican candidate."

The Post added:

A CBS News tally shows this is Bush's 26th presidential trip to Crawford. He has spent all or part of 166 days at the ranch or en route -- the equivalent of 5-1/2 months. When Bush's trips to Camp David and Kennebunkport, Maine, are added, according to the CBS figures, Bush has spent 250 full or partial days at his getaway spots -- 27 percent of his presidency so far.

In August 2003, 35 Americans were killed in Iraq and another 181 were wounded.

They are selflessly presenting themselves as targets of the increasing zombie population in America.

The zombie population which watches Faux should be able to spread the word to the rest. Faux is the place for good eats.

As any munchkin would say,"Oh the humanity!"

They'll never get that far. Fire teams lead by such powerful warriors as Chuck Norris, Ollie North, and Ted Nugent will stop them cold.

The political wealth of this action will insure Faux dominance in the public debate, forever more.

It's OK if you are a Conservative, not a democrat. If it was a conservative president FOX News would not only host the birthday celebration party but also the fundrasing event as a birthday present to the conservative President.

FOX News is not about journalism, it's all about sensationalism and anti-Obamanism.

Memo: to all on-air talent [sic]
      from: Bill Sammon

Today's theme is is it really even Obama's birthday? How do we know for sure when we still haven't seen the birth certificate? For all we know, when deciding to run for office, he calculated Aug. 4 as the ideal date for arranging fundraising events for upcoming elections. And, a year and a few months out from reelection, wouldn't it be just like him to pretend to have reached a milestone birthday and calculated the year he was "born" accordingly?

PS. Don't forget to frame every accusation in the form of a question to ward off ridicule from the MMFA spies and their ilk. After all, we can say, we were just kidding.

...Aug. 4 as the ideal date...

Lispy Limbaugh has been making a lot of connections between the birthday, debt ceiling / budget debates, and proximity to Ramadan.

Just like the birfer thing, Lispy doesn't go all in. He smirks when he mentions the Muslim stuff, so while the majority of his disoriented dittodopes take it as news reporting, the minority of still-barely-sane members of his fan club can say it's a joke.

It's a fine line he walks, and walking a fine line isn't a small feat for an obese guy on Oxycontin.

"Brainroom"?? I guess Fox has to use really simple words to make their audience understand as well as being impressed. "Look look! Brain that means smart! Fox News smart! Obama stupid!"

I ask this in all seriousness; so what?

Just because President Obama is by far raising a lot more money than his potential opponents, wasn't Fox one of the people who kept telling us that unlimited funds for elections is OK? Money = free speech. And in America, more money = better chances for election.

That's exactly it - they don't want him to get a lot of money. I am guessing they are trying to encourage their viewers to donate to the GOP candidates to counteract Obama's momentum.

Aug 04, 1735, Freedom of the press was established with an acquittal of John Peter Zenger. The writer of the New York Weekly Journal had been charged with seditious libel by the royal governor of New York. That jury said, "The truth is not libelous."

      How far we have fallen!

So faux can lie with impunity because of an activist court decision, and freedom of the press allows it.
