Alex Jones Warns of "Orgy of Mass Murder"

August 04, 2011 12:24 pm ET by Chris Brown

Richard Andrew Poplawski was convinced in early 2009 that America was secretly controlled by a Jewish cabal that was moving fast to eradicate free speech and use the military to enslave the American people. Naturally, federal agents and law enforcement officers would first have to seize all privately owned firearms, he believed.

According to the Anti-Defamation League Alex Jones' website Infowars.com was among Poplawski's "favorite" venues for conspriracy theories:

One of Poplawski's favorite places for such conspiracy theories was the Web site of the right-wing conspiracy radio talk show host Alex Jones.  Poplawski visited the site, Infowars, frequently, shared links to it with others, and sometimes even posted to it.  One of his frustrations with the site, though, was that it didn't focus enough on the nefarious roles played by Jews in all these conspiracies.  "For being such huge players in the endgame," he observed in a March 29, 2009 posting to Infowars, "too many 'infowarriors' are surprisingly unfamiliar with the Zionists."  Another time he was more hopeful, noting that "racial awareness is on the rise among the young white population." *

Less than a week later, Poplawski ambushed and shot to death three Pittsburgh police officers who responded to a domestic disturbance call at his residence.

One might think that such a tragic outcome would give Alex Jones pause before he started another round of promoting his wild-eyed theories about the U.S. government coming to take our guns.

Alas, Jones is up to his old tricks. A "bunch of Hitlers," he says, are running the country, and they're just itching to douse us with Ebola and nerve gas.

In an August 1, 2011, video posted on PrisonPlanet.com, Alex Jones states:

I have confirmed through two Texas gun dealers and through someone in my office that when you buy two rifles, and by the way it's in this letter, or two handguns, revolver or pistol, that you get an ATF or FBI visit to your house. And they demand to come in your home and see your guns without a warrant. It's a chilling effect, it's intimidation, just like in Nazi Germany.

[...]

The system does not want armed citizens, they want to set a precedent. And as our country goes into designed banker depression, as we implode, they are coming after our guns.

[...]

The system is having the police and military start a fight where they know gun-owning constitutionalists are not going to along with it. They are going to start responding as things degenerate. And they are going to be called terrorists. The system, the social engineers, are sending the ATF and the Feds on a collision course with law abiding patriotic Americans so they can kick off a civil war in America.

During an August 2 segment of the Alex Jones Show, he suggested the so-called "Super Congress" proposal of the recent debt-ceiling deal, which Jones labeled the Council of 13, was a vehicle to advance gun control (among other nefarious plots). Jones also labeled the debt-ceiling deal "treason," claiming it signals the transition of the Congress to a "dictatorship." Jones has hosted Gun Owners Of America executive director and former militia movement leader Larry Pratt twice in the last thirty days most recently going over the perceived threat of the super congress proposal.

In a later segment on August 2 Jones responds to a caller suggesting he was scared to death about what the future holds for his children telling him: "We're just approaching the event horizon of the orgy of mass murder and death." Growing increasingly agitated, Jones started screaming about how the government has "robot helicopters with airborne Ebola and nerve gas waiting in spray quadrants to kill everybody. That's who runs America. OK? Total psychopathic, 110-percent mack daddy murderers!"

Jones also posted a piece on his website titled "Super Congress To Target Second Amendment" in which he states that "it represents another final nail in the coffin of the American Republic and its replacement with an executive dictatorship run by the political elite."

He also reprinted a Gun Owners of America bulletin  that states that the super congress would be "a super highway for gun control legislation."

Amongst other things (i.e., that the debt ceiling legislation had nothing to do with gun ownership), someone should explain to Jones that the following makes no sense:

it represents another final nail in the coffin of the American Republic and its replacement with an executive dictatorship run by the political elite

How can there be another final nail? Unless you are playing one in a series of really boring RPGs on Playstation, final means last. As in, the very last. And on that note, someone should also explain that to the makers of the Final Fantasy series.

The elite gov't dictatorship is coming soon to kill you and your children and rape your mother, and you're arguing SEMANTICS?

I'm sorry, but this is urgent. Not the time to think or deal with details. We may only have few more last chances before the elite gov't dictatorship kills us and ultimately takes away our second amendment.

I wholeheartedly agree. Likewise most people are unaware of the underwater war going on as we speak. The US govt is keeping the Mermen of Sector 8 near the Marianas Trench from liberating us from the NWO!

No time to think! Just believe! Everyone to the oceans! Swimmies and a pocket knife if that's all you got!

Again... you cannot have "a few more last chances." You can only have one "last chance." Hence the term... "last."
It is pitiful reasoning like yours that inflames the fear and hatred of the anti-intellectual reich-wingers out there.
Stop it. Just stop it. You're embarrasing yourself, and making everyone connected to your "cause" look equally foolish.

I know the reason: things keep getting crazier and crazier, and as we are convinced that the powers that be have gone as far as they will go with their tyrannical antics, the powers that be go even further!
Now, things are so out of hand, nobody knows when we'll see the end of this chaos barring nonviolent resistance to the encroachment of the powers that be.

Alex Jones is another one of our uneducated hate talk radio DJs who just happens to be a paranoid schizophrenic who much have a whole house FULL of tin foil hats. In fact, when I think of Jones, I think of Mel Gibson's character in "Conspiracy Theory."

Yes Alex Jones is the reason for the U.S. economy collapsing today. Alex Jones has caused the invasion of Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya. Oh... I am sorry Libya is a "Kinetic Military Action" not a war. As you continue to watch as your rights are taken away not to mention your money you will get what you asked for...to be a serf.

No, no, Alex, relax. What you're seeing is just one possible future. It doesn't have to be that way. Nothing is written. You can prevent it! Just go get one of those guns you're so worried about losing, make sure it's loaded, point it at your head... or if you're too big a weasel to do us all that favor, you could just tell all your listeners to vote Democratic in 2012. That will also prevent any more orgies of death orchestrated by your corporate overlords. Your choice, dude.

Notice, he didn't say in his little diatribe that when the FBI and the ATF come to your house and ask to see your guns (they don't, but anyway), they aren't taking them away.

This is particularly idiotic, because many members of his audience have surely purchased multiple guns at one time, and they would know from first hand experience that this claim simply isn't true.

This is a pathetic piece that shows this so called "watchdog" group is just another example of liberal democratic servile media. Democrats have always promoted their commitment to the working people, but that time is long gone. Now they just look down on them from their small rooftop balcony, not aware that the foundation underneath them is crumbling.

The first to cry "right wing" and "racist" are themselves no representatives of the working or middle class, but of the ruling class that they refuse to admit exists. Where are their "passionate voices" when Obama continuously violates the constitution, perpetuates wars (kinetic actions that kinetically kill civilians) and bails out Wall Street? Not a peep from the hypocrites. Nothing takes the sting out of the word "racist" more than hearing it coming from a white liberal with a job.

Honestly do your life experience go no further than your ipad wifi range? The only people you represent are those who agree with you, and if they happen to own guns, question the true loyalties of this administration or now it seems distribute raw foods, well you are a "loon" and deserve what's coming to you. If you don't know what I'm talking about, perhaps you should pay more attention to those who are truly challenging and questioning the status quo, basically not here at "Media Matters"

You can count me as one of those "conspiracy" loons, because what we really are is clear-eyed and awake to what has been going on behind the curtain. But by all means, keep dismissing us and our issues. No, we don't have all the answers, but we do have questions. Questions, that most of you think should be left without answers.

Those same gun-toting, raw-milk drinking, organic tomato-growing far-right extremists are the ones without jobs, feeding their kids on foodstamps and watching the value of the dollar destroyed by money printing by the Fed. Yet, you, the latte-drinking, North Face wearing, Ikea-shopping status quo defenders know what's really going down. If you really did you might understand why Alex Jones has more listeners and supporters than you do. But hey, you kick his ass on rich donors and elitist supporters! Talk about street cred!

Oh, and just so you know, I'm a person of color and ex-democrat. I'm ashamed to have been a member of a party that has dishonored it's history and legacy, by falling for a "company man" whose interests are clear by his actions, not by his "soaring rhetoric". Enjoy the new government by THE 13, and I hope you enjoy your body scans on your next European backpacking trip!

Here's the problem... we can all agree the government is corrupt on all sides of the aisle. By giving additional power to 12 establishment cronies (13 if you include the president) then you have effectively rendered the regular Congress powerless. While most people can't stand Congress, this moves consolidates power in a much more centralized, dictatorial way that allows the group of 13 to introduce legislation and the regular Congress cannot try to amend it or block it... only a up or down vote. We already have allowed the executive branch the power to get involved in war without asking Congress as set forth in the Constitution to provide some checks and balances. Now we are essentially giving them free reign over the power of the purse which once again, is supposed to be the Congress' job. People can complain that it's right-wing lunacy to think this group will abuse these powers but guess what? Whether it's Obama in office or Bush, they now have way more power then they ever should have. This is not about left vs. right BS, this is about keeping these corrupt politicians in power no matter what the will of the people. For those that still think this is right-wing lunacy... how would you feel if stupid Palin got into office and had these powers? You'd be flipping out. Where are all you anti-war people now? We all need to come together to hold our politicians accountable since their actions affect all of us.

        I'll defend Alex Jones.

Where do you want to begin? Gun control? Ok.

Barak Obama is trying desperately to quash the second amendment by shipping guns into Mexico in an obvious false flag operation.

Since 2008, the ATF/DEA have been in a criminal conspiracy with Mexican drug gangs transporting drugs into America and our prisons are full of drug users.

        Is that a good start?

Jones is wrong, the country is not be run by pyschophaths, it is being run by EGO-MANIACS. The problem with Jones is not his crazy conspiracy theories that obiviously are false and not part of reality it is the ones that have some grains of truth in them and those few that are actually true because they are so outrages and a total abuse of power carried out in total ignorance or disdain for the constitutuion.

What the ATF is doing is 100% illegal and disgusting, they are inforcing regulations and statutes from a bill that NEVER MADE IT OUT OF CONGRESS. So its not like he has any reason to think that a debt super committee will not try to make a run on 2nd amendment rights now matter how far fectched that claim. Do i think that committee will do that HELL NO.

What i do believe is that targeting all gun owners because of the actions of few is wrong. Making it harder for law abiding americans to defend themselves in a time of unprecidented violence on our southern borders. THE AMERICAN FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAS REPEATIDLY PROVED THAT THEY CAN NO LONGER DEFEND INDIVIUAL AMERICAN CITIZENS AND ARE NOW TRYING TO MAKE IT HARDER FOR INDIVIDUALS TO DEFEND THEMSELVES. WTF KIND OF ASS BACKWARDS LOGIC IS THAT?

Seems very easy to attack Alex Jones, however very dificult to look at what is really happening in this country or the world and realize that you will be some kind of serf in a global government. Unless you don't mind that kind of exsistance. By the way, Chris Brown should consider working at Fox News because he takes things out of context just like they do over there.
