Miss Piggy: Fox News Is Not News
January 30, 2012 10:32 am ET by Todd Gregory
Last month, Eric Bolling did a segment on his Fox Business show warning his audience about the dangerous liberal messages allegedly embedded in the new Muppets movie. A graphic shown during the segment asked, "Are Liberals Trying To Brainwash Your Kids Against Capitalism?":

This resulted in widespread mockery of Fox. Bolling followed up with a series of embarrassing responses -- including challenging Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy to a debate.
Now, the Muppets have weighed in. As the website Dangerous Minds noted, the Muppets were in London last week for the U.K. premiere of The Muppets. During a press conference, Kermit and Miss Piggy were asked for their reaction to the allegation that they were "pushing a dangerous liberal agenda and trying to brainwash children."
Kermit said, "No, you know, it's a funny thing. They were concerned about us having some prejudice against oil companies. And I can tell you that's categorically not true. And besides, if we had a problem with oil companies, why would we have spent the entire film driving around in a gas-guzzling Rolls Royce?"
Miss Piggy added, "It's almost as laughable as accusing Fox News as, you know, being news."

QUESTIONER: Question for Kermit. Kermit, everybody who's seen the film loves it. It's suitable for kids, it's suitable for parents. But I've got to ask you how you felt when -- I think it was Eric Bolling from Fox News said it was pushing a dangerous liberal agenda and trying to brainwash children [unintelligible]
KERMIT: Oh, yes.
[laughter]
QUESTIONER: [unintelligible] horrible.
KERMIT: It's so dangerous. I'm so afraid! No, you know, it's a funny thing. They were concerned about us having some prejudice against oil companies. And I can tell you that's categorically not true.
And besides, if we had a problem with oil companies, why would we have spent the entire film driving around in a gas-guzzling Rolls Royce?
[laughter]
JAMES BOBINS (director of The Muppets): He's got a point.
MISS PIGGY: It's almost as laughable as accusing Fox News as, you know, being news.
[laughter and applause]
KERMIT: Boy, that's gonna be all over the Internet. You are in such deep water.
MISS PIGGY: Yeah. Yeah, if they take what I say seriously, they've got a real big problem.
[laughter]
KERMIT: Wow.

They should have gotten Sam the Eagle to be their spokesman, anyway. What patriotic American would dare offer a rebuttal?
You know it's going to involve Beaker getting set on fire
:)))))))))
It's coming out of his mouth, also.
<Orange juice to keep it family friendly like the muppets>
What's going to be great is how the late nighters and commentators are going to devour this. Seriously, if Bolling continues to have a job after being made such a fool, you have to wonder. You just get ridiculed to the cheers of your peers.
Who the hell is a shareholder in this operation????
Niether O'Reilly or Boiling take criticism very well.
What's that saying? They can sure dish it out, but they can't take it.
People who watch "Sesame Street", are more knowledgable about the world around them than people who watch Fox News.
As dumb as Bolling seems to be, even he had to know his accusations against the Muppets were ridiculous, but he couldn't resist. He knew it would resonate with the average Fox viewer, who will hungrily gobble up anything that supports their hallucinations of liberal brainwashing.
The instant gratification of lashing out with conspiracy theories overrides any concern about being laughed at once those theories leak out of the hive.
"teaching simple lessons aimed at the minds of OLD children. "
On that musical note (bad pun intended) I think we should call Eric Bolling the "Big Man, Pig Man" Haha! Charade you are.
See if you can pick out the subliminal message in my post, watch out it could poison you with liberal agenda!
First off: only a cad insults a lady's weight.
Secondly: what's your problem with being green? It's NOT easy being green. I doubt YOU could handle it!
How in the world did you confused them with Limbaugh and Hannity?
Frogs, as we know, leap when they're threatened. Well, how often have we seen Hannity, when in over his head during a topic, quickly leaps to a new subject.
And while his complexion may not be green, if you listen to him carefully you can't help but notice a distinct tone of jealousy in his voice whenever he talks about the Clintons or the Obamas. All four of them are a great deal smarter than he is, a great deal more articulate, and have achieved things he never will. While they'll be in the history books for hundreds of year in the next decade or two he'll be the answer to a tie breaker bonus question during trivia night at a handful of bars. I'll call him green with envy for that.
Sounds like you've got a real big problem.
Finally!
Finally, Eric Bolling and the rest of the FOX NEWS teleprompter readers are competing on an even playing field...
...now that they're debating hand puppets.
Time enough to stock up on popcorn supplies.
Cable operators require a pop-up window graphic on all FOX content:

Because as we all know...
Puppets are people my friend.
:~)
BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, you crack me up to. It is that combination of stupidity, brainwashing and condescension that do it for me. I lived in So Cal a long time and I remember seeing a lot of oil wells including off the coast. You do know you are a moron, right?
How many oil wells did you see in the middle of the city? Or do you think that governmental regulations would prevent that?
I'm not making a point that these regulations are bad or good, but that the whole premise is faulty and they should let the children know that momma government has our backs when evil men like Tex Richman (oh too funny!!!) attempt to enter into an economic endeavor which will obviously bankrupt him.
