WSJ lets AZ state senator rewrite history in attack on birthright citizenship

SUMMARY: The Wall Street Journal uncritically reported Arizona state senator Russell Pearce's (R) claims that the Citizenship Clause of the 14th Amendment "had nothing to do with aliens." In fact, the Congressional debate from the time shows that both proponents and opponents of the Citizenship Clause recognized that it would apply to the children of foreigners.
