Brokaw repeated findings validated by "IQ expert" funded by eugenicists

In an October 28 interview with Senator John Kerry on NBC Nightly News, anchor Tom Brokaw repeated right-wing columnist Steve Sailer's conclusion that President George W. Bush's IQ is higher than Senator John Kerry's. As Media Matters for America has documented, Sailer's conclusions were reported on October 24 by The New York Times' John Tierney. Tierney obtained validation of Sailer's findings from "IQ expert" Linda Gottfredson, whose work has been funded by an organization designated a "hate group" by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) because of its support for the work of white supremacists, eugenicists, and others dedicated to proving the existence of genetic differences between races.

From the October 28 edition of NBC Nightly News:

Brokaw: Someone has analyzed the president's military aptitude tests and yours [Kerry's], and concluded that he has a higher IQ than you do.
