Limbaugh hosted VP Cheney and gushed: "[I]t's ... an opportunity and a thrill"

On October 29, Vice President Dick Cheney was a guest on The Rush Limbaugh Show; this was Cheney's second appearance on radio host Limbaugh's program in 2004. President George W. Bush was a guest on the program in August.

During their conversation, Limbaugh told Cheney: "[I]t's always an opportunity and a thrill for someone like me to be able to talk to somebody like you, the vice president of the United States, and so some of these questions may appear to be leading, and I really don't mean to do that."

Limbaugh went on to contend that the recent controversy over missing explosives in Iraq is simply a "dirty trick."

Media Matters for America has documented Limbaugh's use of extreme, hateful speech and his reckless disregard for facts and the truth, and recently sent a letter to NBC News requesting that Limbaugh not be included in the network's election night coverage.
