Better late than never: NYT's Brooks apologized for misrepresenting Kerry

On November 13, New York Times columnist David Brooks issued a post-election correction for misrepresenting in his October 30 column remarks that Senator John Kerry made on the December 14, 2001, edition of CNN's Larry King Live. Brooks acknowledged what Media Matters for America noted on November 1: Kerry did not praise the Bush administration's decision to use Afghan warlords to try to capture Osama bin Laden at Tora Bora in December 2001.

From Brooks's November 13 New York Times column:

Not that it will do him much good at this point, but I owe John Kerry an apology. I recently mischaracterized some comments he made to Larry King in December 2001. I said he had embraced the decision to use Afghans to hunt down Al Qaeda at Tora Bora. He did not. I regret the error.
