ABC News corrects its false claim that McCain released tax returns
On the March 21 broadcast of ABC's World
News, anchor Charles Gibson
corrected chief investigative reporter Brian Ross' March 19 assertion -- noted by Media Matters for America -- that Sen. John McCain had released
his tax returns.
From the March 21 broadcast of ABC's World News with Charles Gibson:
GIBSON: We have a correction to
make: On Wednesday, in
a story about the release of Hillary Clinton's White House schedule as
first lady, we reported that she, unlike Senators Obama and McCain, has not
released her tax returns. In fact, only Obama has released his tax returns. Both Senators Clinton and McCain say they will
release theirs next month.
