Saying he was cited by "Media Morons," Boortz again smears Mexicans: "[A]ny Mexican worth his salt would be able to" operate a floor buffer "without getting hurt"

On the April 11 edition of his nationally syndicated radio program, in a discussion with Media Research Center founder and president L. Brent Bozell III, Neal Boortz said, "I'm on 'Media Morons' today." Bozell responded, "Congratulations." Boortz continued, "Yeah, because I said yesterday on the air that I would make a lousy Mexican because I was trying to use one of those floor buffers and it tossed me around ... when any Mexican worth his salt would be able to do that without getting hurt."

As Media Matters for America noted, on the April 10 edition of his program, Boortz asserted that "I would make a lousy Mexican." When asked, "Why is that?" by his engineer and "sidekick" Royal Marshall, Boortz responded, "Well, because I wanted to scrub the hangar floor the other day, so I went and rented one of these big buffers," later adding: "I turned on that buffer, and it damn near killed me! It was dragging me across the hangar floor, throwing me around like I -- it was like a dog shaking a cat or something like that. You know, that's skilled labor."

BOORTZ: I got on -- I'm on "Media Morons" today.

BOZELL: Congratulations.

BOORTZ: Yeah, because I said yesterday on the air that I would make a lousy Mexican because I was trying to use one of those floor buffers and it tossed me around like a --

[Bozell laughs]

BOORTZ: -- when any Mexican worth his salt would be able to do that without getting hurt.

BOZELL: Do you hear that, advertisers? This man is dangerous.

BOORTZ: So, how did the awards go last night?

BOZELL: Oh, we had an awful lot of fun. We really, really had some fun.
