Lucianne Goldberg bashed AIDS protesters

On the August 29 edition of Internet gossip Matt Drudge's weekly radio show, right-wing pundit Lucianne Goldberg voiced her opinion on members of AIDS activist group ACT UP who protested naked outside the Republican National Convention in New York.

From the August 29 broadcast:

DRUDGE: Well, they brought nudity back to Times Square, I know, after Rudy [former New York mayor Rudolph Giuliani] had cleaned them all up.

GOLDBERG: Well, you know, that's what got them in trouble in the first place, those AIDS demonstrators, is not having their clothes on.

According to the organization's website, ACT UP (AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power) is "a diverse, non-partisan group of individuals united in anger and committed to direct action to end the AIDS crisis."

Goldberg is a Manhattan literary agent who, in 1997, urged Linda Tripp, an employee in the Pentagon's public affairs office, to secretly tape her phone conversations with Monica S. Lewinsky regarding Lewinsky's relationship with then-President Bill Clinton. Goldberg is also a former Nixon political operative.
