Ingraham: Kerry, Biden and Boxer "on the side of" Kim Jong Il

April 12, 2005 3:58 pm ET

On Fox News' Hannity and Colmes, conservative radio host Laura Ingraham stated that Democratic senators John Kerry (D-MA), Joseph R. Biden Jr. (D-DE) and Barbara Boxer (D-CA) are "on the side of" North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il because of their opposition to John R. Bolton, President Bush's nominee as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.

From the April 11 edition of Hannity and Colmes:

INGRAHAM: Alan, I'm beginning to think there is a bizarre thing going on in Washington. I'm really beginning to think that Democrats do not want to be in the business of winning elections, because they have several issues they could be talking about. They could talk about a stock market that's down. They can talk about a dollar that's low. They can talk about an economy that's still lagging. They can be talking about difficulties still in Iraq. Instead, they're actually trying to sidle up to those who want to say that the U.N. should be untouchable, the U.N. should not be reformed, the U.N. should have a formal sway over the United States regardless of the past mistakes of the United Nations.

We have John Bolton, who is a real reformer. He's almost a lifetime public servant, a scholar, an intellectual. He's a firm minded man, and he is brilliant. And for John Kerry and for Joe Biden and to Barbara Boxer, with all those other issues that the Democrats can be grabbing onto, to actually be on the side of, what, Kim Jong Il and the European intellectuals who are attacking John Bolton, it makes no sense.

ALAN COLMES (co-host): That's not what he is. [Fox News political analyst and program guest] Mary Anne Marsh --

INGRAHAM: As a political matter it makes no sense.
