Fox News host Bill O'Reilly commented on a California ballot propositionPDF file that would require minors to notify their parents before obtaining an abortion. The proposition will be voted on during a special election November 8.

From the October 13 broadcast of Westwood One's The Radio Factor with Bill O'Reilly:

O'REILLY: I think most sane people would vote for this notification, but I got in front of me 45 percent of Californians say they're going to vote against that. I'm just -- I'm just amazed. I'm amazed, because it is so -- it's such a violation of the parental authority. You know, if the state is going to tell you as parents that you do not have the right to know about the conduct of your children, that is -- that's what they do in Cuba, in China, in the old Soviet Union, in Nazi Germany, where the state tells the child, "Inform on your parents. You don't have to do what your parents say."
