Cavuto's news peg: Porn star's attendance at GOP fundraiser = more pole-dancing on Your World
Fox News' Neil Cavuto interviewed adult film actress Mary Carey about her professed intention to run for California governor, teasing the interview with video footage of Carey dressed in a French maid's uniform performing a pole dance. Carey was on her way to a fundraising dinner given by the National Republican Congressional Committee.
Just before adult film actress Mary Carey was to attend a March 16 fundraising dinner given by the National Republican Congressional Committee, Fox News host Neil Cavuto interviewed Carey about her professed intention to run for California governor for a second time in the upcoming election. But before hosting Carey on Your World, Cavuto teased the interview with video footage of Carey dressed in a French maid's uniform performing a pole dance.
Over video footage of Carey pole-dancing, Cavuto informed viewers, "Her political platform included taxing breast implants and making lap dances tax deductible. But before you laugh at porn star Mary Carey, remember this: She placed 10th of 135 candidates running for California governor. Wait 'til you hear what she's up to now."
As Media Matters for America has previously noted, Victoria's Secret and Playboy models, along with other adult-oriented entertainers, are a staple on Your World. During the December 14, 2005, broadcast of the show, Cavuto reported on NBC's decision to remove a video of Pamela Anderson pole-dancing during a December 12 special on Elton John. Cavuto played the video that NBC censored, declaring that while the video was "too hot" for NBC, it was "[n]ot for [Fox News]!"

I can't decide what's worse:
Fox trying to pull in the 18-30 year old audience by exploiting women or Cavuto trying to get some from with a woman (playing a bimbo for attention) on the air.
First a former stripper {Anna Benson}, now a porn star . . . And Cavuto plays up the fact that she placed 10th among the 135 candidates for California's recall election - big deal: if she could have finished ahead of Gary Coleman and Arnold Schwarzenegger, I'd have been impressed . . .
If Mary Carey was contributing to Democratic causes, the Fascist News Channel would be accusing the Democrats of "supporting porn".

Ok, I admit that while funny, Mary Caray ran for governor of California.......placed 10th out of 135 (if this means anything), but she did run!
The fact that she ran, the least Cavuto could have done was show something less provocative (not that I'm necasarily complaining here).

I'm sure that during Ms. Caray's colorful career there is video of her in clothing? The fact that Cavuto ran the 'pole' dancing clip and Fox allowed it shows the absolute hypocrisy of this useless cable station.........

You know what would be great? Some one-on-one hot tub action between Mary Carey and Tom Delay's daughter, Danielle. We could then put it on DVD and ship it to the campuses of Christian collelges accross this great nation of ours, thus arousing their student bodies with the unspeakable delight of Republican intellectual consistency.
I'd like to see Mary Carey give a lap dance to Jeanna Bush. Jeanna Bush looks like she would have a successful career in porn.
Mary's a sweetheart, and as someone who's lobbied with her in Sacramento (as part of the adult entertainment trade group Free Speech Coalition's annual lobbying days there), I can tell you her heart's in the right place -- all the more surprising since most porn stars go out of their way to be non-political. (Nina Hartley's one of the few exceptions.)
Mary told me that, at the last Republican fundraiser she attended, several of the attendees hit on her, the drunker ones actually propositioned her -- but none of the politicians wanted to have his picture taken with her!
And frankly, I thought Mary's best campaign platform during her run for governor was her promise to put a webcam in the governor's mansion bedroom, and donate all the revenue to the state. Now that's a plan to solve California's budget crisis! (BTW, Larry Flynt placed eighth in that race, just behind ex-TV star Gary Coleman.)
