O'Reilly suggested "farm workers ... throw tomatoes" at Mexican president during U.S. visit

During the May 24 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show, Bill O'Reilly suggested that "farm workers" in Yakima, Washington, "throw tomatoes" at Mexican President Vicente Fox for being "an incompetent person." Referring to Fox's May 24 visit to a Washington state orchard owned by two Mexican-Americans, O'Reilly stated: "[I]f I were the farm workers, I'd throw tomatoes at him, saying, 'Hey, if you were competent, Mr. Presidente, I wouldn't have to be here in Yakima. ... But since you are an incompetent person, I have to then break the law."

O'REILLY: Now, Vicente Fox, no accident, is in the USA the week the Senate is voting, and today, he woke up and had breakfast with the Rico Mexican Manufacturing & Catering Warehouse. About 65 people showed up -- not exactly an overwhelming crew.

At 9 o'clock, he met with leaders of the Latter-day Saints Church in Utah. And that's because there's a million Mormons in Mexico. At 11, he met with the Utah legislature, and then, he whisked of to Lis Wiehl's hometown in Yakima, Washington. Correct?

WIEHL: That's right. That's right.

O'REILLY: Where he's going to meet with some farm workers. All right. And I don't know what he's going to tell those farm workers, but if I were the farm workers, I'd throw tomatoes at him, saying, "Hey, if you were competent, Mr. Presidente, I wouldn't have to be here in Yakima; I could be back in Monterrey. But since you are an incompetent person, I have to then break the law, come here to feed my family."

See that's what I would tell him if I were a farm worker in Yakima. Now Lis probably wouldn't put it so startlingly.
