Echoing MSNBC host Don Imus's repeated references to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) as "Satan," CNN Headline News host Glenn Beck referred to Clinton as the "Antichrist" on the June 6 edition of CNN Headline News' Glenn Beck program.

During a segment about author Anne Karpf's theory that women's voices have become deeper over the past 50 years, Beck said he "wanted to see if there was anything to this." He proceeded to play two video clips of Clinton, one from 1993 and the other from "today." During the first clip, Beck interrupted Clinton as she stated "I'm not looking for any particular role or position," and said "OK, OK. Bringing back too many memories. Please, stop with that." Beck then presented a second clip of Clinton with her voice artificially deepened, at which point Beck remarked: "I think we may have found our Antichrist and our next president."

Earlier in the broadcast, Beck also considered actress Bea Arthur, NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams, and actress Angelina Jolie as candidates for the "Antichrist," before concluding that he had "found our Antichrist" with Clinton.

As Media Matters for America has noted, Imus, on the May 24 edition of MSNBC's Imus in the Morning, referred to Clinton as "Satan" 11 times, once calling her "that buck-tooted witch, Satan." Two days earlier, on his May 22 broadcast, Imus had said that he never had to apologize for insulting former President Bill Clinton and his "fat ugly wife, Satan."

From the June 6 edition of CNN Headline News' Glenn Beck:

BECK: All right. Here we go. Today's "Quality of Life" market update.

The stock of women in the workforce moving higher on the news that their voices, believe it or not, are getting lower. A new book out in England has found a direct correlation between the pitch of a woman's voice and the growing equality of women in the workplace.

Believe it or not, somebody has spent time noodling this idea. Her name: Anne Karpf. She's an author. She examined women's voices over the second half of the 20th century and found that their voices have deepened dramatically. She's got nothing else to do with her time.

She says the trend is most evident in high-powered positions like TV correspondents and female politicians. She says they're often encouraged to lower their pitch in order to get ahead. We wanted to see if there was anything to this. We looked at a couple of pieces of tape. We're going to roll them for you. Here's Hillary Clinton in '93.

CLINTON [video clip]: I'm not looking for any particular role or position --

BECK: OK, OK. Bringing back too many memories. Please, stop with that. OK. Now let's listen to what Hillary Clinton sounds like today.

CLINTON [video clip with her voice artificially deepened]: The public-private partnership exemplified by --

BECK: Yes. I think we may have found our Antichrist and our next president. Back in a second.

Awhile back these right wingers were complaining she sounded Shrill. That is supposed to be a high pitch Shreeching sound. Can't these Bozo's make up thier mind.

As far as the anitchrist-- me and some others went thru revelations and studied the so called signs of the antichrist. The followers of this person are supposed to believe he is Chirst returning. We have figured based on all the signs in the Good Book that point to the Antichrist that it is a toss up between Pat Robertson and Goerge W

Isn't there an American president sitting in office with the lowest approval ratings in US history?

Weren't there illegal immigrants to be demonized and blamed for all our ills?

Aren't those secret CIA prisons still operating?

NSA is still spying on domestic calls, right?

The "number one terrrist" Osama is still free and at large? Weren't we "fighting them there so we don't fight them here"? Weren't there soldiers dying at the rate of 10 per day at one point and Generals retiring and blaming rummie for the new vietnam?

What the hell happened at Haditha? A US endorsed MASSACRE of Civilians?!?

Isn't the entire Bush administration's principal election fundraiser going to prison for massive corporate fraud? Has he ever apologized to America? No?

      jeez.

I guess world changing news that's more than 1 day old just isn't news to glenn "pork face" beck but some footage of some former president's wife is.

Rush Limbaugh. Sean Hannity. Brit Hume. Bill O'Reilly. Neil Cavuto. Tucker Carlson. Jim Scarlboro. John Gibson. Michael Savage. Tony Snow (now White House press secretary). And the long list goes on of right-wing pundits dominating cable TV news channels and talk radio.

Now oh-so-lib CNN brings right-wing shock jock to their Headline News channel.

Poor conservatives. The world is going to heck in a handbasket. The war in Iraq has gone sour. Child molesters are running rampant. There's a culture war against Christians. Blah blah blah. All driven by the lib media. Yep. Poor conservatives. They simply can't get their opinions out. They're being suppressed.

I keep wondering when this thrend will reach a saturation point. But right-wingers don't seem to ever tire of listening 24/7 to pundits who spoon feed them what to think.

The Republicultists wouldn't know real liberal media even if someone wrapped Democracy Now in a massive copy of Counterpunch and hit them over the head with it.

MM, please stop it with the Hillary defense, it's getting really tiresome. We lefty bloggers hate her too, but not with the same flair as Beck.

It's not her marriage, her gender, her fundraising capabilities. It's that she's willing to say anything to get frontrunner status. I. Do. Not. Trust. Her.

Just because something is written with a comedic slant does not mean that it has any actual comedic value.

Glen Beck, for example, tries to paste comedy onto his show but ends up contributing absolutely nothing to the quality of programming on CNN and the level of public discussion.

Compare Beck's comedy with that of Stewart or Colbert, who use comedy and humour as a tool to increase public awareness and knowledge of current events.

Beck's level of comedy--making funny voices and making fun of foreign names--is comedy without a purpose (and without a punchline...heyoooooh!.)

... is fat and ugly, shrill and deep-voiced, will do ANYTHING to get elected, is the Anti-Christ, is SATAN, blah blah blah.

What does ANY of this namecalling and bitter characterization have to do with how she governs? For THAT, we look to New York, and see how well THEY think she is representing them. (Very well indeed!)

If/when she runs for president, she will give abundant speeches and debate and have a website listing all her stances on the issues of importance to America. Whether she has "fat thighs" or is judged as "satan" by people who violate Biblical teachings ("Judge not, lest ye be judged.", "Thou shalt not bear false witness." "'Judgment is MINE', sayeth the Lord.") has absolutely no bearing on anything, except to demonstrate that some very rude people feel threatened by her in some obscure way. Gee, was anyone interested in Margaret Thatcher's thighs? Or Golda Mier's? Gimme a break.

Christ, why do people think a woman who would jump thru flaming hoops in a rabbit suit if AIPAC handed her enough money and consistently votes for Bush's war crimes and fascist appointments and anything else the Military/Industrial Complex wants is a liberal?!?! She's not crusading for health care reform, not crusading for an end to the Drug War, not crusading to end the war crimes upon Iraq, not crusading to bring Bush to trial, not crusading to end corporate personhood. This woman is not a liberal!!! Not only does she not walk the walk, she don't even talk the talk. Please, stop deluding yourselves. She's as liberal as Hermann Goering.

Democrats can be as blindly cultish as Republicans. The Dem leadership is not liberal in any way, sense, or form. They helped make things the way they are and continue to perpetuate the rot of our society. They are NOT going to save us.

Just how do define liberalism. I am tired of the so called liberal base running off thier mouth about someone not being liberal becuase they don't agree with them. I considered myself to be a liberal because of the very idea of liberalism itself. Being a liberal means that you do not follow a set idealogy. The whole idea is to be open minded and all inclusive. I hear to o many so called LIBS yelling how they wont support this canidate because they might have a different perspective on the issue. That is being just as closed minded as those on the right that you preach at for being pig headed. I hate to tell you this but no two people in this world will ever see things the same but the point of the liberal philosphy is allow meaningful and intelligent debate. The Left in this country who continue to get up on thiere high horse every day are just as bad as the right and REAL open minded liberals are tired of seeing a bunch of pig headed idealogues hijacking our political system and not allowing the REAL american voice to be heard. The solutions to this country's problems will never be solved as long as the whole debate is in right adn left terms. IF you are a liberal and have an issue with a canidate then debate those issues but as long as this immature temper tanturms are being carried out in place of substantial public debate the country will never come together long enough save itself.
