I have asked myself this same question. I did find this interesting tidbit.

Christian YWAM $$$ behind PT911 (UPDATED) by bewert Fri Sep 08, 2006 at 10:33:35 AM PDT The $40M question that's been bugging me has been "who paid for this crapola?" And I think I've found the answer.

It's the Christian organization Youth With A Mission (YWAM), through their auxiliary - The Film Institute (TFI). Loren Cunningham, the founder of YWAM, is the father of PT911 director David Cunningham.

This consultant who left I don't think is fully aware of the background of the director. This thing stinks the more you find out about it. The comparison to the Reagan miniseries is misleading because the conservatives didn't like the fact that the miniseries showed things about the Reagans they didn't want people to know. This miniseries is factually inaccurate...completely different thing.

I noticed one article over there called them a "dominionist" group. That means they're after a theocratic overthrow of the Constitution. I've met a few of those online...they make no secret their desire to overthrow the Bill of Rights and use the power of the government to make us worship and behave as they wish, or else. I think we found the true enemy of America....Christiofascists who hate our freedoms and want to force all Americans to convert to their religion!

No wonder they tried to put out school materials with this. They're after our children, they want to indoctrinate them onto the path of holy war. There's another "christian youth" group out there called "Battle Cry". Members are given dogtags to wear and the group holds christian youth rock concerts that end with Navy Seals driving hummers onto the stage and giving recruiting slogans for the military.

Those LeHaye "End of Days" books chronicle a US/Israeli war against "the non-believers" that ends with US forces in Iraq, Israelis wiping out all Palestinians, and Jesus coming back to slaughter all unbelievers. It's a very militaristic tale. His series of novels have been practically added to the Dominionists bible. That's the agenda behind this all. The real religious war is no being waged by Islam against the West, but by US and Israeli fanatics against Islam. This is the 14th Crusade. It's here, it's happening, and it's psycho.

Nah, the Constitution was written by godless heathen liberals to keep Christians from taking their rightful role in ruling the planet and preparing the Middle East for Jesus' Second Coming by wiping out all the Moslems for Israel! Don't you ever listen to the Rightwing Reverend John Hagee or follow the doctrine of the Council for National Policy, with such members as Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, and Jesse Helms? Why, you must be one of them lesbian-loving freedom-hating liberals! Wait till we take over the country! All you liberal atheists and heathens will be forced to worship Jesus or we'll send you off to the death camps! God bless America! God bless our Christian president! God bless genocide and forced conversions!

If Jesus was alive today he'd probably commit suicide when he found out all the horrors people have committed or want to commit in his name.

To all of you who'd wondered who funded this piece of two-bit propoganda, thanks for your research! As I had no intention of watching it I didn't notice that it was commercial-free. The last show I saw commercial-free was "Schindler's List" several years ago. It was funded by the Ford Motor Co. as sort of a Mea Culpa. You see, Henry Ford was a notorious anti-Semite so the company chose a relatively inexpensive public relations tool: show that film commercial free. The motive of those who funded this piece of trash was less honorable, surely.

I hope no one watched it. (I was simply waiting for the 4th season of "The Wire." I prefer Baltimore drug dealers to anti-Clinton gibberish. And I'm not a big Clinton fan, just resent what he's had to put up with from the "right!"

What's often forgotten about those days is that Clinton sent both Cohen and Albright on four seperate trips to the Middle East to try and drum up support for an invasion of Iraq. Each time they were rebuffed by the local governments. If they hadn't been, Clinton would have done exactly as Bush has done...illegally invaded a country that never threatened us and escalated the ongoing imperialism for Persian Gulf oil that really begun in the 1980's. And of course Congress would have done nothing to stop him, Democrats would have cheerleaded and Repubs would have lined up to praise him for it. After all, it was Clinton who began funding Chalabi and Congress that passed the Iraqi Liberation Act in the late 90's. (Like we have the right to "liberate" other nations from their native rulers.)

there's no evidence clinton was going to invade iraq. as for chalabi, this is what the 2000 republican platform said about the organization he headed: "the [clinton] administration has used an arsenal of dilatory tactics to block any serious support to the the iraqi national congress". clinton cut him off because he didn't trust him. he was a favorite of the bush administration. red king is a constant source of statements that there is no difference between the parties or clinton and bush. read anything he posts with that agenda in mind.

Clinton DID send Albright and Cohen on trips to the region to drum up support for invasion. This occurred FOUR seperate times. BBC News reported each diplomatic mission as they occured and the goals were clearly stated. Clinton and his people are also responsible for maintaining sanctions against Iraq even when the rest of the Security Council felt that the sanctions had done too much harm to the civilian population. Particularly criminal was Clinton's UN ambassador vetoing Iraqi requests for the most basic of medical supplies. Denial of medical supplies to a civilian population is a WAR CRIME under the Geneva Conventions.

And Clinton DID sign the Iraqi Liberation Act into law, even though the legality of any "law' aimed at the overthrow of a foreign government is up for question. John Kerry did vote Yes to it as well. $141 million was earmarked for Iraqi "dissident" groups, including the INC, which was Chalabi's bunch. In fact, they received the largest cut and got the most publicity from it.

I'm just pointing out the facts...that both the Democrats and Republicans have been hand-in-hand with this psychotic obsession over Saddam and the persecution of the Iraqi people and the insane war crimes that are being perpetuated in our name. They are STILL doing it together, just follow the votes. Praising Democrat war criminals while decrying Repub war criminals is called 'Hypocrisy'. I don't engage in that practice, it's intellectually dishonest.

If ABC and Disney continue down the path of Fox, all the branding in the world isn't going to save Disney. Every Mickey Mouse logo, Disney World... will be seen as revenue generation tools for the GOP. Consider Fox's name brand. Although Fox has loyal viewers, it's image is tarnished beyond repair. If you haven't signed one of the petitions against ABC, I'd recommend doing it now.

Clinton, last time I heard, is not the president of the US. Apparently he continues to be the mover and shaker. Everything that's happened since he left office is the result of his presidency. Bush sits in the Oval Office or chops wood in Crawford but as far as being in control of the country - forget it. He's merely a helpless victim, a man's whose destiny was decided long ago by Bill Clinton. He's just an intermediary nothing, keeping the chair warm in the WH until Hillary arrives in '09.

i knew he was a righty from the git go, his entire audience does im sure of it. but he entertained me for 3 yrs and i actually thought he was forming his views from his own mind, not from bush talking points. i noticed he turned into a full blown bushbot around `04 so i ditched him and even michael savage (who is more in line with my political views) called him on it so i knew i was right. bush is a businessman who uses religion and conservatism as a platform to garner votes. i hate the liberals but at least they are honest about wanting gay marriage and abortion. bush just isn't genuine so i think he's even worse. i consider him too liberal as well.

id like to see someone truely conservative get in there who'll actually go after abortion, gay marriage, and try to deport the illegals. but not buchanan because he is anti-semitic.

back to oreilly, he's a bushbot and he makes real conservatives look bad. the only thing i still like about him is that he sticks it to the oil companies for their price gouging.

And yet they haven't been able to address your 'family values issues'? Why? Because Democrats are so unified and effective? Nope. Guess what? You're being manipulated by hot button issues. If the Conservatives were to unequivocally end gay marriage and abortion, what motivation would there be for Repubs to get out and vote? Taxes?

His viewership numbers have nothing to do with the consultant who quit the ABC film, nor with the points that consultant made on Olbermann's show.

That makes your post a troll post, and I have reported it to Media Matters for removal.

Understand the problem: ABC is a member of the corporatist oligarchy running the USA; they desire to present the history of the past in a way to further their power. Remember from the movie The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance the quote "This is the west, sir. When the legend becomes fact, print the legend." The corporatist wing of the conservative movement creates its legends, repeat them enough times, and the public believes. Look how they have made liberal a dirty word. Slightly more folk until recently, who don't know what liberalism or conservatism really are, believe that liberalism is spawn of the devil according their superstitious view of politics. Conservatism is not a devil plot; some good ideas, not all, come from that direction. So the same for liberalism. Neither should be demonized. That is what ABC did. They demonized the Clinton administration. They demonized the left. And anyone thoughtful enough to actually study our politics will know that democrats are a centrist party and the republicans are center-right. There are no true leftists in power, except a few, an insignificant few. They were not concerned with the facts, the verifiable facts; they were creating a legend. I applaud the conservatives who called ABC on this. These are conservatives I can listen to even when I may disagree. They are thoughtful; they are fair. The conservatives who applaud this movie are corporatists, a few steps before fascist, who throughout the Bush administrations have controlled the perceptions of about half the populace until recently. They have a profound understanding of "When the legend becomes fact, print the legend." They have imprinted the legend of we are holy and right and they are unholy and left. They have made 'left' a four-letter word. I confess my bias, my shame; I am a constitutionalist and a libertarian. What my friends call a contrarian.

Amidst the bickering and polarization, I would like to take a moment to thank Keith Olbermann and the staff at Countdown for what was supposed to be the point of this particular page: honoring the memory of John O'Neill.

In October of 2002, the award-winning PBS series, Frontline, aired the segment created by Mike Kirk, dedicated to the story of John O'Neill. PBS has graciously allowed the entire segment to be viewed online. It's title was : "The Man Who Knew".
