Beck on Foley: "Is he going to get away with -- is he going to pull a Cynthia McKinney on us?"
On the October 3 edition of his CNN Headline News program, Glenn Beck asked Rep. Katherine Harris (R-FL) if former Rep. Mark Foley (R-FL), who resigned from Congress on September 29 amid allegations that he sent sexually explicit emails and instant messages to underage former congressional pages, is "going to get away with -- is he going to pull a Cynthia McKinney on us?" Beck was referring to Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-GA), who was not charged with a crime after an altercation with a Capitol Police officer on March 29 and was subsequently defeated in the Democratic primary by Hank Johnson.
From the October 3 edition of CNN Headline News' Glenn Beck:
BECK: We've had this conversation before. I hate politics. I hate politicians. We -- we have so many things going on in our world. Let's take Mark Foley for a second. Here's a guy who is preying on 16-year-old kids, and everybody's making this about the election. Good heavens. What is that about?
HARRIS: It's appalling and abhorrent. It's not a partisan issue, though. And interestingly enough, I had worked on so many of those child predator bills and Mark had, too. Now, of course, some of those same bills he worked on he could be subject to.
BECK: What did you think of -- did you ever have -- I mean, I heard some aides were saying he was great, he was nice. Some said he just was -- he was kind of creepy. What was your impression on him? Did you have any idea?
HARRIS: I had no idea, no idea.
BECK: Is he going to get away with -- is he going to pull a Cynthia McKinney on us?

Foley is a teenage predator and abused his position for nefarious purposes.
Cynthia McKinney is just nuts.
Both are gone from Congress, the upside to both.
Hey Tommy;
Where were the other 150 Democrats when the 2000 election was being protested, where were the rest of the House when this administration was grabbing power, shredding the Bill of Rights/Constitution? They weren't with the Black Caucus, Cynthia McKinney stood up against the war, the Patriot Act, the Immigration Legislation, the Downing Street Memo, the Domestic Spying, ect....
It takes all kinds to make a nation, and Cynthia is certainly wound tight, but she has stood up against the Republicans in the way that was more the called for, and much of the reputation she has for being "crazy" is part of the smear methods of the Republicans.
The truth is the Gay Movement; though they cost us a couple of Presidential elections with the gay marriage issue, and the Black Caucus are the only true Democrats fighting the good fight for the past 6yrs.
I won't toss her under the bus to lump her in with their perverts on the right.

Label her anyway you want. It's about time the primary voters in Georgia had the good sense to finally send her packing. And no, her cuckoo antics are not comparable to Foley's, but her absence from the halls of Congress is a step in the right direction, for the Democrats and most certainly the rest of the country.
...not even close to comparable.
This guy Foley didn't just abuse his position... he found a perfect cover to continue his pedophilic ways!! It's so disgusting on so many levels. Everybody seemed to know about it, yet it just kept on going. Where's the moral back-bone to keep these predators away from the innocents. Part of 'moral values'? You have got to be kidding.
Tommy, if you truly examine Cynthia McKinney's record... she comes out as a freakin' high priestess of moral values versus these purported 'good' republicans. With any luck , the average Joe will FINALLY be convinced that these folks have done nothing for the country and don't give a damn about their constituents. What's worse, like Foley, they prey upon them. Every day, I just can't believe how bad it gets. Tomorrow will be another revelation that these creeps will try to toss off as everyone else's fault. Disgusting.
It's hard to figure out which of them is slumming.
they make caligula and nero look good.
the worse they're making themselves look: this is not an issue the liars are going to be able to poo-poo away. I think most Americans think of thier OWN 16 year old children & grandchildren and are not going to buy half-hearted, "not my fault," Clinton MUST be responsible rhetoric.... This is only partisan in that the Republican leadership knew & did nothing.
Beck has found a match, so lets call this the "Moronic Pundit Hook-Up Show."
This is a match made in haven, or hell either, as they don't have a brain cell between them, and they see things so distortedly, and are willing to do, or say anything to stay in the limelight.
I say let's give the a "reality show" like the other celebrity couple shows. This is one worth watching, think of the comedy, the raunch, the hilarity as they try to get us to take them serious.
Man, it just won't be as perverted, and as hilarious in the "Beltway" after the Republicans are gone. I guess we'll have to sacrifice the raunch, and perversion for good governance.

Let's see if I have this right - Short Deck Beck has Face Abuser Soon-To-Be-Loser Harris as a guest, says "I hate politicians" and then they proceed to have a pleasant little chat.
I wonder who won that idiot race?
True. There's not enough Wattage between the two of them to power a night light.
To which Katherine Harris replied: "You mean Mark is going to change his hair style?" ;>)
HARRIS: "All those time we went shopping together Mark never mentioned he liked boys that way. He just bought them cute sweaters, that's all." ;>)
Republicans DESERVE Katherine Harris...
I don't think I understand the problem with this segment?
"Is he going to get away with this--is he going to pull a Cynthia McKinney?"
Not to shift away from Foley for too long... because he should be punished for his wrongdoings, but didn't Cynthia McKinney get away with punching an officer flat out? That should have at least been worth a fine. Is she better than us? Why did she get away with it? Shouldn't all crimes have a punishment?
Foley should get some serious time behind bars, I'd like to see him never get out. And then to go so far as to blame his ills on Alcholism or because he's gay? So, does that mean that gays are more likely to molest childern on the internet than straight people?
So I again, fail to see the problem with the statement.
Maybe you guys should check out the entire transcript:

I do agree with you that if there are laws that Foley broke he should be prosecuted to the fullest extent. Have you read the IM's on ABC's web site? Pretty shocking stuff...
As for Cynthia McKinney she's a nut job and I'm happy she's gone. However, for some reason I'm not as outraged that she cut a deal to avoid prosecution. Happens all the time... But when it comes to sexually predatory behavior towards teenagers by a person in a superior position then throw the book at him.
You will excuse some of us for making light of the Beck/Harris interview but the image of these two puddin'heads together is in itself comical.
He pretends that he is some kind of average guy who criticizes all sides equally, and that he doesn't care if someone is a Democrat or a Republican or a liberal or a progressive or a conservative or a libertarian or whatever. And, of course, just as a zebra can't change it's stripes and a leopard can't change it's spots, Beck is still doing the obligatory and utterly idiotic Democratic comparisons, comparing Republican scandals to a much more minor Democratic scandal which has no place being injected into the discussion. Scarborough tried this to, and so did Carlson. They are slitherhing away from their past public affiliations and ass-kissing sessions with George Bush. Scarborough and Carlson have been doing it for some time now. Beck started doing it in May when he got his lame joke that he has the nerve to actually call a television show. Notice here he's saying the same usual phony stuff about how both parties are bad and all that. Ever since early to mid 2005, when George Bush really started slumping in the polls and things went bad for him starting with his attempted looting of social security, these snakes, including now Beck, have been attempting to distance themselves from the train wreck known as George Bush.
THANK YOU. njguy93@yahoo.com
Beck hates politicians and politics so much that he has a politician on his show to talk...politics....and potential felonies...with Katherine Harris. It doesn't get any better than this folks.
The only thing missing was the red rubber noses.
makes no difference whether it's comparable or not. those that control the media, control the spin. in two or three weeks the Grand Old Pediphiles will have the country believing that the Dems (under Clinton, of course) began planting pages to entrap unsuspecting family value republicans.
For God's sake Scotty, beam me up. There's no sign of inteligent life down here.
