Beck declared, "I like our enemies' thinking" Bush "might just push a button," while his guest proclaimed "[w]e need a little more Kim Jong Il in the White House"
On the October 9 edition of his CNN Headline News program, Glenn Beck said that President Bush is a "cowboy" who has "kind of a nervous twitch to him. And I like our enemies' thinking, 'That guy might just push a button.' " Beck's guest, radio host Dave Glover, added: "We need a little more Kim Jong Il in the White House. We really do. Keep people wondering." Beck replied: "I don't want Kim Jong Il, because I'd like someone that we all are in on it, you know, he's not nuts."
From the October 9 edition of CNN Headline News' Glenn Beck:
BECK: What do you think of Kim Jong Il? That guy's nuts, isn't he?
GLOVER: You know, it really doesn't matter whether he's legitimately insane or it's just an act -- it's the right way to go. When -- when I was a divorce attorney, we had a saying: Crazy always wins. And I think -- I think he's legitimately crazy, but if I were a dictator, I would wear nothing but a pith helmet and a French tickler, and I would corner the market on Don Knotts memorabilia.
BECK: Now, hang on just a second. Which -- I think he's done all of those things.
GLOVER: Yeah, and so have I.
BECK: You know, the thing -- you bring up an interesting point. I said when George Bush -- they say, you know, he's a cowboy, and he's got kind of a -- he's got kind of that nervous twitch to him. And I like our enemies' thinking, "That guy might just push a button."
GLOVER: We need a little more Kim Jong Il in the White House. We really do. Keep people wondering.
BECK: We do. I don't want -- I don't want Kim Jong Il, because I'd like someone that we all are in on it, you know, he's not nuts. But this guy really is crazy.

Discussing the most important issues of our times.
Thank you, CNN. you've raised the bar for intelligent debate.
constitute the 12,664,982th reason I cannot wait for Inauguration Day 2009.
I'm sure I wouldn't be alone in ponying up a buck to help send both of these bozos to North Korea where they can live under a leader that fits their criteria.
As for me, I'd like a leader with a lot lower twitch factor, a lot less of a theocratic tilt and a hell of a lot more curiosity.
But that's just me.
Where do we send the money? And it will be a one way ticket, right?
Many people in this world already think the USA has a madman occupying the White House.
If you are Republican and you voted for this crowd, please take a moment for your country and note the source of conservative punditry.
Here we have two radio shout jocks, whom share the same brain cell, and have no clue about the issues they voice opinions about, and read their version of Republican talking points to promote an Republican agenda.
If you believe that these are men worth listening to for your process of understanding the vital issues of the day, your problem is simple.
Your stupid lazy!! Read. Look at a newspaper once a week.
They assume we're all stupid, and you are! If you love your country, then take the time to learn the issues these idiots express an opinion and you'll quickly find they treat you as though you are stupid. If you don't think it's important enough, then you are stupid.

It's easy to be brave with other people's lives. When these idiots try to describe war in wild west or boxing metaphors, it's apparent that they don't have a clue what real war is like. The horrors of war transcend the playground vernacular so popular among the phony tough. The bravest, strongest soldiers still get turned into hamburger by a 500 lb. bomb. Nothing glorious about that.
But, that's what you get with black and white thinking. We already have an idiot in the White House, and I have no doubt he would push the button if Karl Rove told him to, and lose not one minute of sleep over it.
Only those who haven't experience it, would think war glorious.
Sheesh Dan - though I totally agree with your analysis, diagnosis, and prescription, I must say your chairside manner could use a little work.
By attacking these poor misguided souls this way, you guarantee that they will never hear your advice. But then beck's audiance isn't gonna see your comment anyway.
I've been discussing with a friend, the example set for us by the Amish community, by how they responded to the violence they just endured. Imagine if we as a country had reacted in that manner after 9/11. There would be no-one in this world preaching death to America. There would be no population willing to support anyone who did. IMHO
Beck's ideas are cancerous, and though he has a right to freedom of speech, he has a responsibility that goes along with that right. Therefore he should be removed from the airwaves. Now if he wants to move to NK, that's fine, where do I pitch in for his travel fund? The other fellow should go back to pro-wrestling.
How many leftist elements can one post include?

Tommy, you are so funny. And predictable. I guess you'd sign up to escort these guys to NK as long as you'd get to stay.
You don't really believe the Amish are appeasing anyone do you?
The Amish handled their tragedy with grace and admiration, like true Christians.
However, we as a country do not handle enemies in the same way.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Ironic that the self-proclaimed party of GOP...oops I mean God -- would ever act in such a way.
I meant unlike the far right religious right who could learn a lesson in humility and grace from the Amish. And how not every Christian in this country follows Robertson and Falwell.
But the Amish tragedy is off topic.
The Amish handled their tragedy with admiration?
But I agree with you, Tommy, that we as a nation do not handle our enemies with grace. At least not in the last six years.
I won't disagree with you in principal. We have likely made more enemies under Bush, that is undeniable.
I think he meant that they deserve admiration. And he's absolutely right about that.
You are absolutely correct, we don't handle our enemies that way.
And look where we're at.
The "bomb em back to the stone ages" approach simply does not work.
BTW, thank you for the "liberal" compliment.
Tommy, doesn't the Right preach that this is a Christian nation? Doesn't that mean that we should have handled 9/11 like the Amish handled their tragedy? The Repubs can't have it both ways! Far right fundies want to turn this country into a theocracy, but for some reason, I doubt these blood-thirsty fundie idiots would have reacted to 9/11 the same way the Amish community in PA reacted to their tragedy.
I have to take the middle ground on this one (feels weird). While the Amish are to be admired, a country can't afford to always turn the other cheek. Violence is sometimes necessary in a violent world. That being said, the invasion of Iraq is nothing short of a war crime, in my opinion. They did not attack us and they did not pose an urgent threat. I think the Afghanistan action was probably justified, but Bush's bull-in-a-china-shop approach to fighting turrists is going to do more harm than good.
.......in what the "right" says. We don't make public policy based based on religious or theocratic tenets.
There is nothing confusing or "both ways" about that.
See I told my friends thier were conservatives who were not brainwashed by Robertson, Falwell, and others like them. If more republicans would take this sticky christian fundamentalist ideal out of their base I may just vote for them...
Hey Tommy;
I have never made an intolerable arguement when free speech is the issue.
I was speaking to the consumer of this drivel. I never called for their being deprived the right.

I wasn't responding to your post, I was referring to RockyMountain Joe's.
Tommy obviously prefers the Amish to take Bush's lead, armed themselves and gone to New Jersey, and shot a bunch of Mail Carriers at random. Because random killing and getting as many Americans killed as possible is the best answer to problems. Otherwise internet toughguys think you are weak.
cannot figure out what either of them are trying to say...it is like trying to understand grunting and farting as a language....
Ooooo.....aaaa.......ah.......Blu.......
I mean really...WTF??????
Watching some of these talk shows reminds me of professional wrestling... all fake bluster and bravado.
That is why it is an exercise in futility to get upset over ego-driven adults blabbering their rhetoric up and down these talk shows.
Calm and reasoned intelligent debate apparently doesn't grab ratings like this stuff does, just look at Fox News - nearly all their programming is like watching an elementary schoolyard.
nervous twitch, DT's, cerebral neuralgia... whatever. Don't sweat the semantics. It all boils down to respect of the dangerously unpredictable, and that's what this country has been missing for far too long, now. The world lost it's respect for our rightful god-given authority soon after they lost their fear of us. Well, it's about time for that button-finger to spasm and nuke out a little reminder of our awesome authority. Just once or twice, that's all. What's left of the world will rediscover that lost respect pretty quick, I expect.
should go back to the far end of the radio dial where they belong. What a pair of idiots.
I respect the dangerously unpredictable, that means I never hesitate to kill a black widow spider. If a rattlesnake comes into my yard I immediately remove him. Those are the natural reactions to dangerously unpredictable.
NK and nukes ARE a serious matter. Kim Jong Il is NOT the kind of crazy our own leaders should emulate.
John Wayne was an entertainer and one of my all time favorites. I loved Clint's spaghetti westerns. But they were only entertainment, not guidlines for leadership. Where would India be if Gandhi had acted like that? How many more people would have died in South Africa if Mandela hadn't taken the high road?
We have ample examples of the results of the cowboy approach. It only works until a faster or more ruthless or more clever gunslinger comes to town.
What freakin' good does Glenn Beck do for our country? What does he bring to the table other than insults and disinformation? What good do ANY Republicans bring to the country? Very little, as far as I've seen.
Good morals and Christian values, Glenn. Sharp. Very sharp.
What good do ANY Republicans bring to the country?
They exhale carbon dioxide, which is used by plants.
Next, they'll be using that as proof that they're pr0-environment.
The Repubs are definitely pro-plant.
If they could get some of those Republican civil rights activists working on vegetables voting rights, they might really be dominant.
And having a few house plants as commentators on Fox might raise the level of debate a bit.
decides Bush will push the button??? What if they decide a pre emptive strike is in order????
Scary, huh?
We need to impeach them all. They have the world in chaos.
