Olbermann awarded Savage "Worst Person" for claiming anti-gay remark will appear "in several of the blogs run by gays," whom he compared to "drug addicts"
On the November 20 edition of MSNBC's Countdown, host Keith Olbermann named nationally syndicated radio host Michael Savage the "winner" of his nightly "Worst Person in the World" segment for stating, as documented by Media Matters for America, "I think the purple hand is all over Hollywood." Olbermann then noted, as Media Matters also observed: "He then predicts those remarks will wind up, quote, 'in several of the blogs run by gays -- and they think only of that because they're like drug addicts.' " Savage frequents Olbermann's "Worst Person" segment, recently receiving "runner-up" for claiming that "[t]he radical homosexual agenda will not stop until religion is outlawed in this country."
According to Talkers magazine, Savage's radio program, The Savage Nation, attracts more than 8 million listeners a week and is heard on more than 300 stations nationwide, making it the third most listened-to talk radio show in the nation, behind The Rush Limbaugh Show and The Sean Hannity Show.
From the November 20 edition of MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann:
OLBERMANN: But our winner, Michael Weiner Savage. Last week, he insisted the radical homosexual agenda will not stop until it subjugates the rest of the country. His latest remarks, quote: "Who do you think controls what comes out of Hollywood? I think the purple hand is all over Hollywood." He then predicts those remarks will wind up, quote, "in several of the blogs run by gays -- and they think only of that because they're like drug addicts." For God's sakes, Mike, will you just cut to the chase and come out of the closet? Michael Weiner Savage, today's "Worst Person in the World."

I love it. Olbermann is a breath of fresh air.
I was listening to Savage the other night. I can take him in about five minute doses. He started talking about how he hasn't had a day when he felt at peace in his whole life. He said he had moments of peace but never a full twenty four hour period. I almost fely sorry for him. It would explain alot though about how he became such a bitter and nasty character. When someone is obviously that unhappy it is not hard to see why he is so filled with poison for others. sk
I don't think it's the lack of peace in his life that has made him bitter and angry. I think it's his ugly, nasty, hate-everyone world-view that has sucked the peace from his life.
He doesn't need your pity. He sleeps in a bed of his own making.
I should say he doesn't deserve your pity.
if he just came out of the closet.
It's pretty obvious isn't it.
Thier he goes again on another one of his anti-gay rants. It isn't a surprise why individuals like Rosie O'Donell dispise these hateful little creeps...
The Silver Medal for Worst Person in the World was for a Walmart located in a city (West Bend) not to far from my home. It is the first time I ever heard of something ever happening in that boring town....
for stating that he'd never own an iPod, despite the fact that he sells podcasts on his website. Just another minor chapter in the Falafel Wars.
would he have been proven correct when he said it would turn up on blogs run by gays? If Limbaugh mentions it, then he's got the "drug addict" part sewn up, too.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not paraphrasing my brother who says he won't even sign a petition against Ann "The Whore" Coulter because that implies someone takes her seriously. Unfortunately, she has groupies who DO take her seriously. But the more I hear of Weiner-Savage, the less seriously I take him. Like Coulter, he finds the more outrageous his utter nonsense claims, the more attention he gets.
It's pathetic, really. Like a spoiled rich kid who needs more and more and more attention. But he's going so far off the wall that no one, aside from maybe Jeff Gannon--remember him/her?--or some other rightie who needs meds could take him seriously.
Like others have said, my hats off to Keith Olbermann for keeping us informed on this sort of lunacy that parades itself as political discourse.
EOM
what does that mean? (the statement and EOM)
I'm with you on this one.........
My guess on what Raymanrevo is saying here is:
hmmm.....forget it, I can't lower my thinking abilities as low as Ray obviously has, it scares the crap out of me to even try!
Last time he tried to impersonate Savage he sounded like Donald Trump. This time his impression sounded like Patty and Selma from the Simpsons. His Bill O'Reilly impression is decent though as is his Rush Limbaugh.
