Savage "doubt[s]" Obama and Clinton "would take our side" after terrorist attack
On the January 29 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show, Michael Savage stated that, rather than "tak[ing] our side should there be some kind of catastrophic attack on America," Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) would "march thousands of us into the hands of the enemy." He also said that Obama and Clinton -- whom he identified as "Hussein Barack Obama" and "Hillary Rotten Clinton" -- "would gladly take the guns of the American military and turn them first on the American patriot, rather than turning the guns of the American patriot on the enemy within."
Talk Radio Network, which syndicates Savage's show, says that Savage is heard on more than 350 radio stations. The Savage Nation reaches more than 8 million listeners each week, according to Talkers Magazine, making it the third most-listened-to talk radio show in the nation, behind only The Rush Limbaugh Show and The Sean Hannity Show.

Smart? I'll concede that he's got a PhD in Nutritional Ethnomedicine, but what evidence do you have that he's "smart" in the domain of political and cultural analysis and criticism? His success as a radio personality and author doesn't necessarily imply that he makes strong intellectual arguments. No, not everyone in prison is there do to hate speech. But it has been proven that many incidents, including hate crimes are caused by hate speech. Compare the FBI's hate crime's reporting data against large national debates (imigration, gay marriage (especially when they get really abusive)) and you will see in general a spike each time. The level of crimes against those indicated in the speeches suffer a wave of attacks each time.
