Olbermann awarded Coulter "Worst Person" bronze for anti-environmentalist comments
On the February 27 edition of MSNBC's Countdown, host Keith Olbermann awarded right-wing pundit Ann Coulter "the bronze" in his nightly "Worst Person in the World" segment for claiming, as Media Matters for America documented, that environmentalists want to create a world "where they -- the beautiful rich people -- live in their homes, and there are a few maids. Well-tempered maids will come in and take care of them." Coulter made her comments on the February 26 edition of Fox News' Hannity & Colmes, during which she also maintained that proponents of energy efficiency "want to kill humans" and that energy-efficient refrigerators are "not new energy" but, rather, a sign that "humankind is dying."
From the February 27 edition of MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann:
OLBERMANN: That's ahead, but first, time for Countdown's latest list of nominees for Worst Person in the World.
The Bronze to Coulter-geist, snapping out of her winter-long slump to say something vaguely entertaining. She is one of the global warming deniers, claims it is a plot by environmentalists to create a world, quote, "where they -- the beautiful rich people -- live in their homes, and there are a few maids. Well-tempered maids will come in and take care of them." Maids, huh? Hey, Ann, you found your calling.

Media Matters: Limbaugh's Off the Wall spin on Michael Jackson's death
Howard Kurtz's wasted opportunity

Only the bronze, eh? I will have to see the silver and gold...
Silver: A guy who made bomb threats via e-mail to the president of the community college he attends.
Gold: The Baseball Hall of Fame, having elected nobody for the Hall yet again. Baseball is near and dear to Keith's heart, so it's not surprising.
Specifically the Hall's Veterans Committee.
We want Gil Hodges in the Hall already!
Brooklyn!!! ;)
i think he needs another category. babbling incoherence. that rant on hannity is a lifetime award.
I think that is why he gave fox its own nightly section in oddball... the 24 hour comedy hour.
One thing ya can't take away from KO; "the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth." Nobodies perfect but he comes pretty darned close. Give 'em hell!
Hey! Show some respect for our maids! They work for a living, after all.
*Snicker*
Those environmentalists are soo, rich. They can hardly help themselves-they're drowning in cash, man. I mean, look at me: I'm writing from this great Dell Dimension 3000, with an almost working Verizon connection. And those energy saving refrigerators, well, thei're just bound to kill people--by dropping on them, or something...
I'm really starting to like this Olbermann guy...
I watched this skankyAnnie thing, and she is really out of gas.Her argument against solar power was that her parents bought some and they didn't work.(The panels, I assume, not her parents)
The same sort of low- standard defeatism so prevalent in the GOP that makes them terrified of National health care because they've heard stories about another country that tried it and it wasn't perfect.
I also liked that she kept responding by screeching about candles, when even Darryl Hannah could point out that nobody but AC had mentioned candles.
HBL, I think you were right..her parents probably don't work (as in function correctly). I mean, look what they produced.
I am happy that our household was a participant in the Nielson's family ratings system this past week and we supported Keith Olbermann's show with our ratings (and we are regular viewers). I loved the latest "Special Comment" regarding Rice's recent comments.
Could she actually be bronzed? Please?
Let Jabba dip her for his ornament like he did Han Solo. Then she could be a work of art instead of a piece of work.
