On the April 11 edition of his nationally syndicated radio show, Bill O'Reilly again attacked Virginia Beach Mayor Meyera Oberndorf, claiming that "she has no clue at all" and stating: "[T]he honest reporting is that Mayor Oberndorf has no clue, none, shouldn't be there and neither should the police chief. And that's the truth. And if you don't get them out of there, you're gonna have more dead girls in the street." O'Reilly made the comment while discussing a March 30 automobile crash that resulted in the deaths of two teenage girls, reportedly at the hands of an illegal immigrant who said he had been drinking the night of the accident.

As Media Matters for America documented, O'Reilly previously attacked Oberndorf and Virginia Beach Police Chief Alfred M. Jacocks Jr. on the April 6 edition of his radio program, describing Oberndorf as "limited in her intellectual capacity" and calling Jacocks "an arrogant incompetent."

Additionally, during a discussion about Don Imus' reference to the Rutgers University women's basketball team as "nappy-headed hos," a caller to the program claimed "the word 'racist' " is "the single most effective weapon ever devised by the far left and anti-Americans," adding: "[I]t's more effective than nuclear arsenals." The caller then claimed that "[t]he Muslim jihadists use it against us" and "the Mexican invasion is enabled by it." O'Reilly responded affirmatively: "I understand what you're saying ... and it's absolutely true." He concluded: "You know, I'm throwing down the gauntlet on these people. And anybody that uses this weapon, you're gonna get a visit from me."

From the April 11 edition of Westwood One's The Radio Factor with Bill O'Reilly:

O'REILLY: No, she has no clue at all. And I understand that small town -- and, you know -- actually, Virginia Beach is the biggest town in Virginia, I've been told, about 400,000. But it's still relatively a small place. But I understand that, you know, the local guys have to do this, that, and the other thing for the sponsors and the money. It's all about that, which is why I have to step in, [caller], and I have to do the honest reporting. And the honest reporting is that Mayor Oberndorf has no clue, none, shouldn't be there and neither should the police chief. And that's the truth. And if you don't get them out of there, you're gonna have more dead girls in the street.

[...]

CALLER: You know, about this word "racist." It's the single most effective weapon ever devised by the far left and anti-Americans. It immediately -- it's more effective than nuclear arsenals. It immediately puts us on the defensive, no matter what the subject. The Muslim jihadists use it against us, the Mexican invasion is enabled by it. Even our gangs. We can shut down the gangs with the National Guard and a big police presence.

O'REILLY: Oh, you could easily shut the gangs down. You're absolutely right. But, you know, but the ACLU [American Civil Liberties Union] would be right on your butt saying, "Oh, you're racist. You're profiling. You're doing this, that, and the other thing." I understand what you're saying, [caller], and it's absolutely true. But enough's enough. You know, I'm throwing down the gauntlet on these people. And anybody that uses this weapon, you're gonna get a visit from me.

Now, now, Mr. T-Warrior, don't you mean a visit from Fox Security?

buffoon o'reilly rants against local mayor and chief of police... picks mercily at the grief of parents whose children have been killed in an automobile accident, all for the 'benefit' of his national following (growing small and smaller every day), and puncuates it all with the mighty fury of the man:

"call me a racist and see what happens! i can take it, i'm a man, but are you? if you call me a racist, are you ready for a visit from me?"

Sad stuff, even for a clown like bill o'reilly.

Seeing this item here made me curious: What happened to bill o'reilly the staunch supporter of the Iraq occupation?

I mean, the time is really hot right now for Iraq... as hot as ever... and this guy used to screech a lot on that subject (before he fell so pitifully to the substance of this item).

So I clicked 'Media Personalities' b.o. link, just to scroll back, to see when last the word 'Iraq' appeared in the headline of any item citing this clown... this is what I found:

You have to go back to January 27 (that's more than 30 b.o. items back) to find Iraq... one has b.o. saying sunnis and shias are having fun killing each other, the other has b.o. admitting to "pushing the goalposts further back" on Iraq.

Neither is any kind of cheerleading about the U.S. occupation, which is what I'm scrolling back looking for... as a matter of fact, the item that has b.o. saying Iraqis like killing each other, seems typical of what b.o. now has to say about Iraq: Think of it, the buffoon's message has turned from cheering on the occupation, to one of simply de-humanizing Iraqis (and I thought that to be true, and perhaps you may also, because I realized I didn't need to research that, I sort of sensed that that was truly how the buffoon's Iraq comments, however rare these days, had turned).

Back on the trail, looking for b.o. cheerleading the occupation (of which the two items found so far, are not examples of):

Back another 20 or so items worth, to December 7, and we have several items about b.o. and Iraq...

Note carefully: One has "The problem with Iraq is the Iraqis" and another where b.o. says "Do i care if sunnis and shias kill each other?" (see a trend forming here?) and then b.o. saying that the violence in Iraq is because "they're Muslims ...doing what they do" (this trend is amusing me now, and has me glad I went to scrolling back this buffoon's MMFA headlines).

A couple of items about b.o. and Iraq in November, neither an example of his cheerleading the occupation, and then BANG there's the item I'm looking for... the last instance of b.o. cheerleading the occupation, as cited by MMFA, headlined:

O'Reilly claimed Rosie O'Donnell "doesn't want George Bush and his administration to have a victory in Iraq because she feels they're evil"

...which is not so much that it was more than 80 MMFA headlines back, containing both "b.o." and "Iraq", to find that last instance of cheerleading the occupation, but for it's date:

        October 20, 2006

...just before the election of Novemebr 7, 2006!

To summarize what I found in my little research here: Not since before the election results has b.o. been cited by MMFA in any way that I'd call cheerleading for the occupation of Iraq... not once since then.

Boy, does this ratings-conscience buffoon blow with the political winds, or what?

He no longer cheerleads the occupation, a thing he formally worked hard and mailiciously at... he now mentions Iraq only to de-humanize Iraqis, and to call them all killers... that's his new refrain, no more cheerleading, just blame: blame the Iraqis as killers...

He now only takes the rare time to mention Iraq, to no longer cheer the occupation, but give his reason for abandoning that cheering refrain: "They're all killers, so who really cares... not me anymore."

How high the mighty have fallen.

He no longer cheers the occupation of Iraq... he now picks at the wounds of automobile accident fatalities, and calls out the local mayor and the town's top cop in so doing... and screeches:

"call me a racist, and see how i'll punish you for it...

        BRING IT ON!"

[Which amuses me, how far this buffon's rant of BRING IT ON has fallen: From Bahgdad to Virginia Beach.]

It's a Catch 22 situation for local authorities. Potential witnesses to crimes know that they can testify and not be turned over to INS. A plus for the locals.

Everyone complains about illegal immigrants but these same people are the ones complaining that they don't want tax increases. for the local governments to do the work of the INS, they'd need to increase taxes. A negative for the locals.

Bill isn't exactly making this a serious discussion, is he?  He pontificates on things he has no understanding of.  He makes makes empty, cartoonish "threats" and ultimatums toward people with whom he disagrees.  He yells his freakin' head off on TV instead of engaging in a civil exchange.  He exploits accident victims to further his agenda and gin up his dimwitted audience.

What are the mayor and the chief of police supposed to do? Stake out every person who looks like they might be an illegal immigrant, and then stop them from driving drunk on the streets? What about all the citizens of the US who are driving drunk too? Do they go to the bars, every bar, and stake out every person who might be driving drunk and pull them over? And then they'd have to go to every person's home and sit outside them to make sure that they're not drinking in the privacy of their own home and then driving. Jeesh Bill. You need to get a grip.

Deaths from drunk driving are horrible tragedies, and I'm certain they are not limited to illegal immigrants in Virginia Beach only. I'm sure that there are just as many, if not more, drunk driving arrests on normal every day US citizens in Virginia Beach than there are illegal immigrants. Bill's diatribes about illegal immigrants are getting worse I think. He's delving into Lou Dobbs' territory here.

And I'm pretty certain that if you took down some gangs, the ACLU would not be jumping to their defense at all. But the ACLU would actually defend O'Reilly if say the government took away his show. You know, that whole defend the Constitution thing. I'm still seriously confused as to why the right wingers constantly attack the ACLU as being "un-American". Is it because they want to actually adhere to the Constitution or what? I know that this is slightly off topic, but if someone from the right could point me in a direction, or a link somewhere that shows the ACLU going against the Constitution, I would be interested in seeing that. I know that it doesn't exist, but just wondering if I have missed something along the way.
