MSNBC's Carlson on Obama: "He seems like kind of a wuss"
On the July 2 edition of MSNBC's Tucker, host Tucker Carlson said of presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL): "He seems like kind of a wuss." Carlson made this comment after claiming that in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination, "Someone's going to give the middle finger to the man," adding: "And the man in this case is a chick!" -- referring to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY).

CARLSON: This is the Democratic Party, Bill! The establishment's not going to win in the end, right? Someone's going to give the middle finger to the man, OK. And the man in this case is a chick! Hillary. OK, she's the man here, right? She's the DNC [Democratic National Committee]. Why -- when are ordinary Democrats going to say: "You know what? We're sick of having Rome, or whatever -- the man tell us what to do," and start backing Barack Obama?
BILL PRESS (radio talk show host): Look, Tucker, at some point Barack Obama is going to make his move. I don't know whether he's going to be able to overtake Hillary or not, but the fact is -- and this shows it -- he's going to have all the resources he needs, all the people that he needs to tackle Hillary and take her head on. She's going to have a full-fledged, totally financed candidate --
CARLSON: He seems like kind of a wuss, though. I mean, don't you gotta be tougher than just the man who's against cynicism, the purer-than-thou candidate? Vote for Barack Obama because he's more decent than you are? I mean, come on. Give me a break.

This is the really funny part. The republicans are the ones who get a candidate shoved down their throats by the national "deciders". I guess they can't understand that it's possible to have primaries where voters base their decision on issues, ideas and intelligence rather than vicious push polls and voter intimidation.
As far as manliness goes can anyone name one other candidate that would win in a fight against Obama? (You can even through in Thompson, he acts the part but it he really a tough guy.)

It sounds like something out of the 60's with Sen John Kennedy running for President, He was Candidate who was Catholic, who promised that his religion would not get in his way as President. Obama is a Christian not a Catholic.
As I've mentioned here many times, cons have a bad habit of projecting on to people they don't like. But pay attention, it tells you what they really think about themselves every time. And what's with calling Hillary a chick? Are cable pundits now talking like surfer "dudes".

We hear about the Fairness Act as only an effort to shut-up right-wing talk radio, or an attempt to silence free speech, yet we are then treated to an imaginary “school slap down” from a man whom would in the same breath presume to be an expert political analyst!
I would submit that a reasonable expectation of expertise from the host of a network political program should be demanded by the audience, and on the public airway which includes cable as that includes use of the public domain!
I would like to ask those who remember political discourse prior to the end of the Fairness Doctrine if they can remember a politically themed program that dissolved into name calling, never mind the host making the name calling central to the subject matter for a panel of "also presumed political analyst.”

Opinions like Carlson's that are largely ad hominem attacks under the guise of opinion further conservative propagandistic themes.
Another example would be the frequent complaints about Hillary's voice. It is an attempt to forward and mainstream non-substantive issues for the conservative agenda.
I am glad MMFA points these things out especially when there is so much irony as the case would be here. Tucker doesn't really seem like he is qualified by any measure to judge someone else's masculinity. My 5 lb. yorkiepoo would absolutely tear Carlson appart.
