On the June 25 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show, while discussing the upcoming September 13 football game between Ohio State University and the University of Southern California, Hugh Hewitt referred to the game as "probably the last football game we'll ever get to see before the United States gets blown up by the Islamists under Obama."

From the June 25 broadcast of Salem Radio Network's The Hugh Hewitt Show:

HEWITT: By the way, I -- I'm still trying to find two tickets to the Ohio State-USC game. And none of the USC people will give up their tickets to me. I'd pay fair price. They -- they know Ohio State's gonna slaughter the Trojans. They know that they're gonna slaughter the Trojans, and therefore they do not want me there at the bloodbath, since it's probably the last football game we'll ever get to see before the United States gets blown up by the Islamists under Obama. I -- I would like to see Ohio State slaughter USC. This is what I'm living for right now. I'm keeping -- all the bad news, I just focus on the Ohio State upcoming slaughter of USC. So if you are a USC fan willing to sell me two or perhaps even three USC tickets to the Ohio State game, hugh@hughhewitt.com, or if you're a Buckeye fan with those tickets back in Ohio, I'll trade you some Browns tickets. New York Giants, Monday night game? Think about it. Hugh Hewitt Show.

              Whatever, Columbus. Don't play.

It's weird how your nick was changed from Columbus to Science 101 on that blitzer thread. Have some balls and stop trying to convince us, with your multiple nicks, that more than one or two people on the planet agree with your stupid rightwing radicalism.

Whoever Science is, he can't be terribly observant if he thought that Bruce was a liberal.  Bruce and Oscar--and usually Jeter, and occasionally Tommy and Wesley, and once in a great while AnotherAmerican--are examples of why conservatism isn't totally hopeless... yet.

Moreover, all these people have had the strength of character to keep the same ID's--as have most of the liberals here.

9/13/08 is one of the first games of the 2008 season.  Neither team will suit it up until Obama has been in office for 8 months.  Sure Hugh, you could have a point though, if Obama is as poor a President as Bush, it is conceivable 3,000 people could die on his watch, just like on W's, 8 months into his presidency.  Please stop projecting W's failure to protect America on Obama or any of the Democrats.  How is painting the whole map Red going?  Sorry about that blue paint in IL and MS that was dabbled in the last few months.

Those of us in So Cal know that Hugh Hewitt has been a totally crazy a-hole for years. An arrogant little schmuck, who parlayed a questionable gig on public TV here into a lucratrive, nutcase national platform.

He's a real creep-- good work MMFA. These comments are beyond the pale.

They're such f*c*i*g cowards!  They're going to spend four years crossing their fingers, and shaking in their boots, just hoping they live long enough to vote in another heroic republican to protect them.  It's absurd.  And each day that passes without them getting blowed up (mores the pity) will do little ot convince them that their fears are utterly groundless.

Perhaps you should give M. Rotten Levin a listen or two. He is about as emotional as they get - yelling, carrying on, illogical name-calling, and Z-grade humour all wrapped up in one sorry package.

I can only take M. Rotten Levin in small doses - that Walter Winchell impersonation he does every time he opens his piehole is very anoying.  Almost as annoying as his stupid little nicknames that make no sense.  For example, he refers to Keith Olbermann as "Keith Overbite", yet there's nothing wrong with Keith's teeth.

And it's completely laughable how he calls every Democrat a "radical socialist", and calls George W. Bush a "liberal". Pul-LEASE!!!!

(BTW, I like the "M. Rotten Levin" nickname for this pile of dung who thinks he's a human being.  I tried to come up with an appropriate nickname for this creep, but the best I could come up with was "Stupid Jew-Boy" - he's stupid, he's Jewish, and he has the maturity level of a 10-year-old boy.)

And no, Hewitt didn'd start it. His is just another example of radical right wing hate speech, leeching it's way into the national dialogue. Yours is just another example of right wing hypocrites making excuses for hate. You have no idea what responsibility is, if you did, instead of saying throw away lines like Hewitt's don't bother you, you'd condemn that stupidity coming out of your ideological brethren.

But I really don't expect you to understand. You're not a liberal who has to put up with hundreds of Republican worms in the media, 24/7 pushing those 'Democrats are terrorists' type narratives. No I don't expect you to get it because not getting it is what allows you cons to claim to be happier people.. Instead of fighting injustices, you just shrug it off as part of the natural order of things.

To the ilk of Hugh Hewitt and kin, he would probably prefer that the GOP's brand of rallies be prefaced with, if not the Horst Wessel or "Die Stem van Suid-Afrika," them maybe the old "Land of Hope and Glory," preferably in a rather obnoxious-sounding staccato as grating on the ears as the castrati were in their time.

Nah - we don't fear any of those folks you list above.  Most of them have proven capable of logical thought and can discuss issues and come to agreement.  Of course the Liberals are a different story - they have proven only to ba able to respond through emotion. So when they do  respond to conservatives with either long winded acedemic diatribes laced with what they believed is pointed humor, or little snippets of sarcasim we just humor them and say, "thats a great point", and move on.

Ah, that explains a lot.  Columbus has a great zoo and a terrific science museum (so there are some reasons to go there), but the behavior of the OSU fans at their home games goes well beyond the realm of sport.  It's simply inexcusable what they've become famed for doing.

        And you condone it.  Figures.

Did OSU fans ever get mistreated in any way in Ann Arbor in the years when UM utterly dominated them?  Of course not.  We acted like, how shall we say, adults.  You should give a long thought as to why you can't do the same.

      Whoa! Is this true?

Is it true that the inevitable Armageddon that will accompany an Obama Presidency, will mean that the way inflated over-rated overblown posturing game between USC and Ohio State, will be the final college football game of 2008 (if not of all time)... is this true?

You mean I'm not going to get to see Florida versus Georgia at Jacksonville, on November 1 2008?

You mean, if Sen. Obama is our next President, then the Florida-Georgia game is blown off the map, and off the schedule, along with the whole country, by the resulting Armageddon?

If this is true, then I just became a McCain supporter!

I was looking forward to Florida and Georgia at Jacksonville... I figured that was gonna be Armageddon... who cares about Sen. Obama, if it means his Presidency shall blow off the map and blow off the schedule, the Gator's Dawg's World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party!

Who cares about USC or Ohio State either: either the Gators or the Dawgs, would blow those two teams away, anyway...

You see, they have to deflect to Clinton's bj, because deep down, Republicans know that their party is full of collossal failures who can't protect a city against a hurricane, let alone a country against a terrorist attack.

It showed most plainly in that Florida classroom.  When confronted with an episode that called for quick, decisive action, our president read a book and then flew away and hid in a bunker somewhere in Nebraska.  What a coward.

Why do you think Bush and his fellow criminals decided before 9/11 to wiretap everybody?  Because doing it the legal, time-honored way of getting a warrant took too much effort and intellect and they knew they were in WAY over their heads.  It was better to just spy on everyone, constitution be damned.  That's also why there's Gitmo.  They had to put on a good show and look like they were catching some of the terrorists (by paying bribes to Afghan warlords), when in fact, they've caught just a handful (not counting the #2 and #3 al queda operatives who have been repeatedly "killed" in Iraq.)

In a nutshell, Republicans are inept at security.  What they are good at is making money for their corporate cronies.  And getting people killed.

i have no idea who this guy is, or his claim to fame, but reading a calendar is obviously not part of his skill set. a football game in mid-sept. 2008 will take place roughly 1.5 months before the GE, unless mr. hewitt has a crystal ball, and already knows who the winner is.

it will take place approx. 4 months before the inauguration, which itself will occur after the final, national championship game is played, the first week of jan. 2009.

maybe he means sept. 2009. of course, if that's the case, his comment still makes no sense, since a pres. obama would have been in office 9 months by then, plenty of time for his islamofascistfundamentalist brothers to have wreaked suitcase nuclear destruction on the entire country. i think it's a safe bet, were that to happen, the college football season would probaby have to be delayed somewhat.
