Jim Quinn: Steinem opposes Palin because Palin "declined to slaughter her own unborn child, Trig, to the goddess of feminism"
On his radio show, Jim Quinn claimed that Gloria Steinem opposes Gov. Sarah Palin because Palin "refused the sacrificial right of passage, better known as the Eucharist of the feminist church: abortion. That's right. She declined to slaughter her own unborn child, Trig, to the goddess of feminism, even after doctors told her that he was one of those Down syndrome 'throw-aways.' "
On the October 6 broadcast of The War Room, co-host Jim Quinn said of criticism of Gov. Sarah Palin by author, activist, and Ms. magazine co-founder Gloria Steinem: "Palin blew it, you see. She publicly expressed through both word and selfless deed that she values all people during every stage of development from conception to natural death. Most egregiously, she refused the sacrificial right of passage, better known as the Eucharist of the feminist church: abortion. That's right. She declined to slaughter her own unborn child, Trig, to the goddess of feminism, even after doctors told her that he was one of those Down syndrome 'throw-aways.' " Quinn later stated: "The reality is, except for those who, like Gloria Steinem, think the Preamble to the Declaration of Independence should've read, 'All women are endowed by Mother Earth with an inalienable right to eat their own young,' Sarah Palin has connected with the average American, especially with women."
Quinn prefaced these remarks by saying, "Not surprisingly, the ultra-liberal and pompously self-styled National Organization for Women has been beating the war-path drums, claiming that Palin is, quote, 'more a conservative man than she is a woman.' " Quinn was presumably referring to a September 11 Politico article that quoted a "spokeswoman for the National Organization for Women" as saying of Palin: "She's more a conservative man than she is a woman on women's issues." An "Editor's note" accompanying the article, which Quinn did not mention, stated that "NOW President Kim Gandy disputes this comment, contending it is inaccurate because it did not come from a spokesperson for the organization and does not reflect NOW's policy or position."
Quinn went on to say: "And Wendy Doniger, a feminist Kool-Aid guzzler at the University of Chicago, wrote in Newsweek that Palin's greatest hypocrisy is her 'pretense that she's a woman.' " He added: "Sorry, gals, Sarah Palin's most definitely a woman. I suppose some of the hate boils down to the fact that the governor is so easy on the eyes? Hmm? That's right. See, Palin is good-looking and that drives most of these feminists, who look a lot more like Ruth Bader Ginsburg than Palin, nuts."
As Media Matters for America noted, Quinn has previously stated: "If you don't agree with the feminist scolds, then you're not a real woman -- even if you are a very feminine working mom." He added, "But even if you're an actual man, never mind a childless feminist who looks like a Bulgarian weightlifter in drag, you're a real woman solely because you nod your head like a windup clapping monkey every time you read the latest editorial from Ms. magazine." Quinn has also repeatedly referred to NOW as the "National Organization for Whores." Additionally, Media Matters documented that Quinn has previously introduced a segment about Sen. Hillary Clinton by playing the song "The Bitch Is Back."
Talkers Magazine lists Quinn & Rose on its "Heavy Hundred" list, which it describes as a list of the "100 most important radio talk show hosts in America." According to the show's website, it airs on 18 radio stations and XM Satellite Radio.
From the October 6 broadcast of Clear Channel's The War Room with Quinn & Rose:
QUINN: To them, see, she's not a real woman, and they've said as much. Just as Clarence Thomas is really just a rich white guy in black face, he's just a misogynistic female impersonator, or, she is, rather. Not surprisingly, the ultra-liberal and pompously self-styled National Organization for Women has been beating the war-path drums, claiming that Palin is, quote, "more a conservative man than she is a woman." And Wendy Doniger, a feminist Kool-Aid guzzler at the University of Chicago, wrote in Newsweek that Palin's greatest hypocrisy is her "pretense that she's a woman." Sorry, gals, Sarah Palin's most definitely a woman. I suppose some of the hate boils down to the fact that the governor is so easy on the eyes? Hmm? That's right. See, Palin is good-looking and that drives most of these feminists, who look a lot more like Ruth Bader Ginsburg than Palin, nuts.
Still, it was uber-femme Gloria Steinem who placed her finger directly on the liberal feminist true bone of contention with Palin, writing, quote, "She opposes just about every issue that women support. She opposes almost everything that most other women want and need." Of course, Madam Steinem's "everything most other women want and need" can be summed up in one word: abortion. Palin blew it, you see. She made an unforgivable choice. She publicly expressed through both word and selfless deed that she values all people during every stage of development from conception to natural death. Most egregiously, she refused the sacrificial right of passage, better known as the Eucharist of the feminist church: abortion. That's right. She declined to slaughter her own unborn child, Trig, to the goddess of feminism, even after doctors told her that he was one of those Down syndrome "throw-aways." Steinem called her own abortion a "pivotal and constructive experience." That's right. Her abortion was a "pivotal" and "constructive" experience. I guess, according to these nasty ninnies, we simply can't have a vice president who lacks experience in "pivoting" and "constructing."
Now think about it: Sarah Palin is poised to undo much of what the left has accomplished. Imagine her as a role model for millions upon millions of young girls around the world. Imagine those young girls embracing life over death on the abortion issue, embracing true feminism over angry abortion-centric feminism. They absolutely cannot have that, and they will stop at nothing to destroy her. We expect liberal bias from the media and other leftist elites, but this time around, the bias is off the charts. It's finally exposed the liberals who -- for who they truly are -- who I've been telling you they are for lo unto 15 years now -- and we have Sarah Palin to thank for it. The reality is, except for those who, like Gloria Steinem, think the Preamble to the Declaration of Independence should've read, "All women are endowed by Mother Earth with an inalienable right to eat their own young," Sarah Palin has connected with the average American, especially with women, most notably -- oh glory day -- with Hillary Clinton supporters.

Or, could it be because the Palindrone Twit is a regressive Evangelical Troglodyte who is nothing more than a talking points parrot for the knuckledragging fascists who have taken over the Republican party?
She's their second coming, the savior, and the almighty rolled into one.
DOH!
Is that my grandmother's old housecoat Palin's wearing?
Thank God they didn't show her slippers.
I'm sick of the free publicity this pair of haters is getting courtesy of MMFA. Anyone else notice that as the odds of a McCain win decrease, the blither factor on blithering idiots increases?
The Talk Radio Troglodytes are secretly salivating. They know that, if Obama wins, it will be good for the Hate Radio business. Rush Limbaugh would have faded into well-deserved obscurity of George H.W. Bush had won in 1992.
Yeah, they all seem to be getting noticably more batshllt crazy than their usual state of crazy.
I don't know what evidence these knuckleheads have as to what Steinem bases her political support on. I can only speak for myself, and since I've been clearly outed as an "abortion fanatic" at this very site, I will admit that the only reason I don't suport the brilliant and qualified Palin is because of her refusal to support women eating their own fetuses.
I have to stand by my principles.
A Class 5 Sh*t storm is bearing down upon us. Let us give thanks for the largess about to be dumped upon our heads.
Amen, brother ewe! BTW, looks like the republican plan to return to the good ol' reagan years is finally working. The DOW only needs to drop another 1000 points to get there...
mrh,
I agree. Who are these guys?
On the other hand, it is feeding red meat to all our friends here who get to express their daily moral indignation for the umpteenth time.
I agree. Who are these guys? (AA)
They're you without the filter.
That's true. Quinn is essentially making the argument that Steinem is "pro-abortion", which is an argument AA has made several times. He must be agreeing with the "hater" classification based on something else.
I always find it amusing when people are horrified at seeing a more honest version of themselves.
I personally have more respect for the fruitcakes who proudly display their hate and fear than for the milquetoasts like AA who try to cover it up with happy face emoticons and bullsh*t platitudes.
"They're you without the filter."
And perhaps with a bigger paycheck.

Oh my God, that was funny!
They should change their catch phrase about the culture of life to the culture of fetal life.
They care about the health of fetuses but not children.
They care about fetuses but not innocent civilian children caught up in wars.
And they chant "kill him" when Fräulein Palin is firing up the loyal party members with lies about Obama.
Morons. It's called "pro-choice" because women should have a choice. That means nobody wants anyone to have an abortion, much less demands it as some sort of "right [sic*] of passage".
*It's "rite of passage", to anyone with editing powers. Just saying.
The problem is that Quinny wasn't born of human DNA. His hate-pickled brain will be his curse. I have sent these articles to the local chapter of NOW and they are looking into his hatred and lies. Let's see how Jimmy the Weasal acts when the heat is on!!!! Just like his harrassment of a fellow employee. Here's a big shout out to Quinny and the Christian.
Lordofphlats,
Today's two-for has to be killing you. Knowing that Quinn has put your liberal radio station on 24 hr swap/barter format and with his ratings and national following has to cut you to the quick.
No matter, you have gotta love Donnie Iris as bumper music. He's a local there in Pittsburgh, isn't he?
PC, how nice of you to notice...it is up to three now. You must understand that listening to these two is a joy during the morning drive. Their inane BS makes me realize that I am not the dumbest person on earth. I always know there are two people beneath me. These people are considered clowns in these parts and get a chuckle out of their nonsense. This is very hurtful to Quinn and the Christian because they think they are doing the world a public service.
As far as another radio station, Q and R were up against the shrilly one, Laura Ingraham, which I think has been sliced. The only show missing around here is Hartmann. Everything else is Con radio and they still can't get the vote out for McCain. They are on an all-out blitz but they are always a day behind. But seeing Hartmann go away was a blessing for Limbaugh. Hartmann was beating him in the ratings. But you are correct about Donnie Iris. Keep in touch.
This guy looks old enough to be John McCain's father.
He looks like a mother to me.
Can anyone explain why Palin underwent an amniocentesis (a procedure with a significant risk to the fetus) if she was not going to have an abortion under any conditions?
Those procedures are urged upon women as if they were harmless. I have a friend who was talked into getting an amnio against her better judgment, and lost the child as a result. She was pretty devastated.
I refused any and all testing but then I'm not normal. My three kids were all born at home with midwives in attendance. For a low risk pregnancy, much safer than going to a hospital, IMO
Word to your experiences... I was in Fairbanks from 2000-2007 and the local hospital there almost killed my oldest boy on a simple matter of prescribing a pain drug for an adult to an infant, luckily caught by an observant bystander. Also, no shots, no problems.
That's pretty cool. My wife works for the Austin Area Birthing Center, they do natural child birthing there. She really enjoys it!
Mr. l, good catch. No shots, no problems, same with us...
Snoop, high fives to you and your wife.
Can anyone explain why Palin underwent an amniocentesis (a procedure with a significant risk to the fetus) if she was not going to have an abortion under any conditions?
I'm more interested in knowin why, when she knew she was in a high-risk pregnancy that after her water broke in Texas, she stayed there to deliver a speech, boarded a 12-hour flight back to Alaska, and THEN went to the hospital to give birth.
On second thought, since that chain of events is so far-fetched, maybe that proves that Child #5 is actually Grandchild #1.....
That story doesn't wash for me, either, but I guess we'll never know for sure.
I was hoping someone would look into it, but Palindrone's blithering idiocy has apparently precluded any further curiosity on that matter.
MEDIA MATTERS...After listening to the Looney Quinn for 15 minutes today, I am hoping that this site leaves the poor man alone. He is ready to commit the "Dutch Act" (suicide). He is down to the bottom of the barrel blaming the Republicans for running a Gerald Ford campaign. The "poor" man is crying about the Dems taking shows like his off the air. What he doesn't realize is that shows like his, Seannie the Sissy and the Rushbos have fueled the fire of the Liberals to get involved. Liars can only lie if people believe them. The Republicans are removing the blinders due to the alternate view which the Libs could never get across.
Quinn, I am sure that one of your listeners will have work for you when you are eliminated from the airwaves. Then you can sit around and still have an audience. And Rose can pal around with Seannie the Sissy.
Why is it these people always characterize NOW women as ugly? Oh, yeah, women have just a couple of purposes, eye candy being one of them. Funny how they've forgotten that Ms. Steinem gained attention by applying for and securing a job as A PLAYBOY BUNNY in order to write an article on them. I doubt they would have hired her if she looked like a bodybuiling nazi or a decrepit crone!
