Radio host Bill Cunningham compared Sen. Barack Obama to dictators such as Fidel Castro, Mao Zedong, and Adolf Hitler, and also stated: "Obama now is poised ... to seize power in America, and I hope to be a bloodless coup."

On the November 3 broadcast of his Cincinnati-based radio show, Bill Cunningham repeatedly compared Sen. Barack Obama to dictators such as Fidel Castro, Mao Zedong, and Adolf Hitler. Cunningham stated: "Much like Castro took over Cuba, Mao Zedong took over Red China, and the Communists took over Russia, Obama now is poised, according to many of my good friends on the left like Paul Mason and others, to seize power in America, and I hope to be a bloodless coup." Cunningham later added, "[Obama] goes out to his left-wing buddies in San Francisco and smears God, smears guns, smears everything great about this country. Then he comes to these rallies like bromides, like Adolf Hitler in 1933, and the faithful are shouting, 'Yes we can, yes we can.' "
During the program, Cunningham also stated: "Obama's gonna make America go repeatedly and radically to the left and is gonna impose the values of Louis Farrakhan, Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, and other left-wing radicals who want to blow up the Pentagon and kill police officers, and mainstream those values into Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. And if you think that's what America needs tomorrow, go ahead and vote for the socialist. Vote for Castro."
As Media Matters for America has documented, numerous media figures have compared Obama to Hitler and the Nazis in recent days. Cunningham asserted on the October 30 broadcast of his show that "Obama wants to gas the Jews."

I find this interesting, since we are just ending a Republican administration that quite often found itself dabbling in what could best be described as Fascism.
No doubt. No doubt. It's weird listening to guys like this, talking about how bad the country is doing and how things have been going wrong and all, and then, it's their guys who have been running the show. Somehow Obama is going to "radicalize" the country, as in, you know, promote things that a majority of Americans agree upon and want implemented.
Funny story. Some guys I work with, who proclaim themselves to be proud republicans, took one of those tests that determines if you're liberal, or conservative, or any shade in between and to the left and or right of those stances. The guys who think themselves conservatives, answered their questions, and lo and behold, they came out as liberals. The things that they agree with most are liberal positions, and they never even realized it. They didn't believe it, but I asked them what the questions were, and they showed me, and sure enough, they are liberals.
That's what people like Cunningham want us to believe, is that somehow the things that Obama believes in, are somehow not what the majority of the country believes in, and he's, well, wrong.
That's no surprise. So many on the right vote on vague notions of "loving America" or "values". It always surprises them that Republicans don't hold the patent on that stuff.
My sister-in-law is a perfect example. She started a small business that is barely scraping by... her husband is unemployed.... they have no health insurance.... but she will push that button for McCain like one of Pavlov's Dogs. Why? Because she's a Religious fanatic who just can't bring herself to vote for a pro-choice black man. She voted for George W. Bush because, in her words, "At least he has values".

The FD would do NOTHING to stop the drivel that falls from Cunningham's opening maw. Limbaugh's either, or anyone else for that matter. As someone else said before, it's not equal time, they just have to open it up for an opposing voice, and can limit how much time said opposing voice has, and aside from that, Cunningham going on with his tirade here, would probably not even fall under the FD.

I am a US citizen who grew up India that voted for Obama. I am, to use current terms, a fiscal conservative and social moderate.
I did not vote for Sen. Obama because he is a Democrat. I did not vote for him because he is Black. I did not vote for him because I am on welfare. I did not vote for him to solve all my problems, because I can deal with my problems myself.
I voted for him because of:
1. What the alternative (their rhetoric, Palin in particular) represented
2. The alternative has been in place the past 8 years
3. The alternative did nothing to present their case. They fear mongered instead.
4. The alternative smeared. Tying (trying) him to Ayers, Wright, Rezko, terrorists, socialists etc., with no proof (and luckily, with no luck).

I predict that, with each passing year, the percentage of people that wish, expect, hope for the death of a public person they do not like will only come down.
