Limbaugh on Obama: "We are being told that we have to hope he succeeds, that we have to bend over, grab the ankles ... because his father was black"

Media Matters: Bush-nesia strikes again in smear against Obama, DOJ
How did media cover GOP's 2003 use of reconciliation? They didn't|

Wow, a conservative refusing to accept reality and claiming MMFA is taking someone out of context. Big surprise.
No, the omitted text was "bend over forward, backward....whichever..."
Nice try. You failed again.
WTF? No... the ommitted text was completely irrelevant. Rush said yet one more embarrassingly obnoxious, racist, un-american and (were it said by a liberal about a rebublican prez) TREASONOUS (they love that word, don;t they?) thing. There's no context that excuses what he said.
We should ALL hope Obama succeeds because it will be GOOD FOR THE COUNTRY IF HE DOES. How petty a partisan do you have to be that with all the trouble that YOUR PARTY'S PHILOSOPHY has caused that you actually want things to get WORSE for four more years, just so you can get back into power and... what? Screw it up some more?
The Republiocan party, right now, is in worse shape than the Democrats have EVERY been in, in any period since the civil war. It's amaziong how badly they've screwed up this country and their own political prospects.
Sarah Palin in 2012, I beg you!!!
The liberals have become the conservatives, the conservatives have become the liberals.
And the cycle continues
DAWuss,
Show me one prominent liberal talk show host at the beginning of Bush's term that went on the record hoping that Bush's presidency would be a failure.
Flag, there are no propionate liberal talk show hosts, so this would be impossible. I am sure any talk show host that may have been on the air back then is off by now.
As usual, Limbaugh offers no evidence to support his claims. And I saw the whole thing, not just this clip. Same deal: big claims but little evidence to solidify his points.
And his backhanded defense of conservatives not being racists while the left supposedly is rife with such feelings is a sly way of stirring up the bigotry among the acolytes. Emphasize the "black" points that the "drive by media" supposedly is defending and you'll develop resentment against African-Americans. Nice job there, Rush. Lead the minions to the line, give them a push and let them make that next step.
And what's with the sodomy references? Limbaugh sure seems to use that "bend over and grab the ankles" phrase a lot!
Because that doesn't fit into their double standard world view. It's OK for rappers to say the N word, but lets shuffle the deck here. If say a COUNTRY star (Toby Keith for instance) said the same thing, you can bet HE would be considered worthy of a headline at MMFA.
Don't believe me? Go back and look at the headlines here from the dixie chicks brouhaha.
So because you say it is, it's OK for rappers to say the "N" word and not get called out for it by liberals? You're wrong. Why? Because, they get called out for doing it ALL OF THE TIME. By liberals, mostly. You should do a little research, look at what Bill Cosby has said about this, see what Sharpton and Jackson have said about this. Read what other black leaders have said about rappers using the N word, and calling women derogatory names.
Limbaugh, and other right wing talkers are the masters of projection. if you listen to limbaugh for any length of time (a stomach turning thought, I know) you'll hear subtle racist remarks. But when it comes to the actual subject, he projects it all onto "The Liberals" Hannity and Savage do this as well.
Limby's exclusive on FOX because we don't want to touch him with a hundred-foot pole.
Look, if Obama screws his policies up, we are ready to criticize him for it. We are ready to point out his deficiencies. But we're also ready to jump down your throat if you hammer the new administration with lies!
We have to hope he succeeds, Limby, because the last administration was PANDEMIC FAIL.
Why is Rush forever bending over and grabbing his ankles? And does this have anything to do with why he can't stay married to a woman?
Only an anti-American/conservative wouldn't want Obama to succeed. When Obama succeeds, the country succeeds.
Reminds me of this quote:
http://boortz.com/nealz_nuze/2009/01/why-all-the-negativism.html#comments
"Negativism"
"If you don't think Barack Hussein Obama is you president and mine, please board a plane and leave the country...we don't need any bitter un-american, non patriotic ignorami. And take Bush with you. God bless America.By NoWMDs @ 01/21/09 03:19:06 PM"Nice try. You failed. Comparing an anonymous poster to Drugbaugh is not only obtuse and pathetic, it’s seriously laughable. What a terrible, terrible analogy. How embarrassing for you.
So, are you going to address this?
When Obama succeeds, the country succeeds.
I think that would depend on your point of view. I want him to fail on some of his stated policies. That does not mean I want the country to fail.
Dave,
Even though I disagreed with almost all of Bush's policies, I wanted to be the one who was wrong, not him.
Sounds like the same old nonsense Limbaugh was peddling about Donovan McNabb a few years ago. Back then, he accused the Philadelphia media of giving McNabb a "free ride" because of his race. Now, he's accusing the national media of doing the same for Obama.
Seems to me, Limbaugh's just got an innate hatred of African-Americans. Jeez, when this guy was spinning Top 40 in Pittsburgh as "Jeff Christie" in the '70s, did he ever play an R&B record? Or was it wall-to-wall Archies, Bobby Goldsboro, and Bay City Rollers?
Dear Rush,
First of all, let me ask you one thing: What do you value more, the United States or the Republican party? Think about this if your eyes come across this post for some reason.
I never voted for George Bush. Neither time, but did I wish failure upon his government and this country even once? NO. You see, Rush, even though I disagreed with Mr. Bush on his weakening of environmental regulations, his decision to go into Iraq, his tax cuts for the wealthy, No Child Left Behind, etc., I wanted him to be right and for me to be wrong. I wanted my president to have more knowledge and insight than I had. I wanted the tax cuts to prove my economic theories wrong. Since Bush said Saddam had weapons of mass destruction, I wanted to believe him and have our military snuff them out. When Bush announced NCLB, I wanted him to fund it fully and see it work. I wanted Bush to show me that 9/11 and Iraq were connected because he was putting American lives on the line. I wanted him to show me that less regulation and lower taxes for the rich would stimulate the economy.
I wanted to be wrong. I want what's best for the country. I wanted to be pleasantly surprised. You see, Rush, for me, I believe in one of McCain's slogans: Country First. Your statements clearly prove you don't believe this. Actively rooting for the President to fail in a time when this country needs to get back on track is petty, selfish and short-sighted. I hope, but do not count on, you see the error of your ways.
FB, I caught a little bit of Rush's radio show yesterday. A woman called in, said she was a fan of Rush, opposed Obama in the election, disagreed with his proposed policies, but felt that since he is the President for all Americans that we should support him and hope that he does good for the country. I could have said the exact same regarding Bush 8 years ago.
Rush then proceeded to mock this woman unmercifully, calling her stupid, suggesting she had brain damage. To her credit, the caller just laughed it off. "No, I haven't had a head injury. I am blond, though" she said, chuckling. I don't think I would have been so gracious.
I think he is just upset because he knows that with Bush and Rove out of power he is out of the power loop. It must be driving him nuts. Gosh, no more birthday cake for you Rush (or whatever else they were feeding you) at the White House.
As far as "we have to bend over, grab ankles..." that is just so typical of his genre. When all else fails; go low rent.
I think he is just upset because with Bush and Rove out of power, he is going to loose listeners. Gosh, no more birthday cake (or whatever else they were feeding him) at the White House. It must be driving him nuts.
As far as: "we have to bend over, grab ankles ..." it is just typical of genre that he perfected: low rent.
I have a lot more of a problem with Limbaugh's unabashed assertion that he wants Obama to fail. THIS is the point where appeals to his boss(es) should find some purchase: we face many serious challenges, chief among them the fact that we're in an economic downturn that many have said is the worst since the depression, and this man WANTS OUR PRESIDENT TO FAIL. It's not in this clip, but I saw it on TV last night.
Blowhards like him and O'Reilly often equated antiwar sentiment to a desire on the part of those opposing the war to see Bush fail. I've always thought this was nonsense; it certainly wasn't my viewpoint. But Limbaugh has stated, unequivocally, that he wants our president to fail. If this isn't un-American, then the term has no meaning.
How do we find out who sponsors this cretin? A boycott is in order!
