      Is this news? Hasn't he said this in the past?

      I think that DA Limbaugh should be given a primetime TV show every night of the week. Then, he could get his message out to the entire country so that they could see that they are stupid, naive and need the guidance of the "Special One". Would he go for this? No way would he chance something like that. Once he now longer has the shield of radio and his limited cult members, he is dead meat. The public will demand proof of his allegations. The public will demand questioning him. The public will get to hear two sides to a story. Nah, Rush could never live in the outside world. It scares him. He knows that his voodoo act wouldn't hold up with real people. But we can only hope that he comes out of the radio closet and attempts to play with the big boys. Even though his past indicates NOT.

      "It's about power.  It's about control.  These people genuinely look out over this country from their lofty perches.  They don't like what they see."

      You know, I agree with this part.  There's nothing worse than elitism in society.

      So why does Rush act LIKE an elitist?

      It works both ways:

      RUSH: To answer your question, "Why do so many conservative Republicans want to basically tear apart and re-build the country? Because they don't control enough of it to satisfy them. They want to...

      CALLER: They live here too I don't understand, like..

      RUSH: Yes, but, they are gonna establish separate rules for themselves buy which they live. Such as they will be able to not pay their taxes and work in government at high levels. They are not going to be subject to whatever green-house gas laws that there are. They are not going to be subject to any of this sort of, they have, 'cus their too important you see. Uh, and they all think they are part of the elite. Some of them are gonna get canned, some of them are gonna get the shaft here they just don't know it. Uh, but it's, it's, forget Republican these people are conservative exceptionalist now. They bear no resemblance of the Republic party of, of Abraham Lincoln for example.

      CALLER: No you're right, you're right I agree, I agree and my thought is...

      RUSH: It's about power, it's about control, These people genuinely look out over this country from their lofty perches they don't like what they see. Otherwise they...

      CALLER: Well then they can go somewhere else, I don't understand why do they have to stay here?

      RUSH: I don't look..

      CALLER: I mean leave us alone.

      RUSH: At this point, at this point Gretchen i don't care about the "why" they are not going to leave, they are trying to control it. At this point the only thing is they-must-be-stopped.

      CALLER: I agree.

      RUSH: Within, within the confine of our Constitution and the political arena of ideas. They must be stopped. I don't care why they see this county the way the see it. I don't care why a murderer does it. I don't care why a rapist does it. I don't care why this Muslim guy offed his wife's head. The "Now Gang" is out there saying "Ah now thats not domestic violence, thats just uh, thats just uh, what'd they call it, culturally honor killing and this woman was gonna divorce him its against the law, and, and, and, that's that's that's his diversity. You know it, uh, I don't care, I don't care why anymore. I mean if I figure it out I will be glad to tell you because its interesting to know but is doesn't matter in terms of defeating them.

        So Rush is saying that we're so PC, we don't care that a man cut his wife's head off? Yeah, OK Limbaugh. And again, you prove your ignorance, and base your opinions on your wacky world view.

        Here's the rub. Seems as though this last election showed you, and everyone else in this country, that yes, we weren't happy by the rubble that we saw caused by the GOP whilst they were running things. We've got a chance now to make the country better, and stronger. Are you going to help? Nope, you're not. Why? Because it wouldn't improve your bottom line, and you wouldn't really have anything to complain about (you really DON'T have anything to complain about now, paid millions of dollars per year to spout nonsense into a microphone is a job just about any one of us could accomplish very easily). Sort of like the Clinton years, yes, those years Rush that made you the great El Rushbo that you are. You didn't really have anything to complain about there either, so again, you made things up.

      Hey, I've got an idea, make the fairness doctrine apply to all media forms, especially radio and cable tv, then we'll trade Rush for the evil trinity on msnbc(Matthews, Maddow, and Olbermann), any takers?? P.S. especially Olbermann since all he does with his show is attempt to throw snide comments at Fox, what a waste of a show where he could actually do something real, like the news maybe?

        Well, since the right and the GOP claim the so-called "liberal media" was in the tank for the democrats and President Obama this past year...you'd think they'd want it to come back.

        And Olberman was better than Limbaugh at everything from sports to at least admitting when he says or reports something wrong.  All Rush will EVER say is we're taking him out of context...

        How convenient that you left out Faux in your diatribe of "biased" cable stations.

        Don't forget, Matthews (R-MSNbc) claimed dubyah should be on Mt Rushmore and that the only people that don't like dubyah are the crazies on the Left.  Yeah, Matthews (R-MSNbc) is such a librul.

          To deny that MSNBC is a liberal station is just foolish. Matthews is a puzzler, he calls himself liberal and during the election he certainly acted that way , but at times to say the least he is looney. Maybe he runs low on his meds.  Bring back Dan Abrams.

            To CLAIM that MSNBC is a liberal station is what's foolish. Have you ever seen the Morning Joe show?3 hours every morning of conservative propaganda. Keith Olbermann might be liberal, it's hard to tell. All we really know is that he despised Bush. Rachael Maddow is definitely a liberal. Chris Matthews is NOT hard to figure out, he's a conservative Democrat--he worked for Jimmy Carter, fer chrissakes (another conservative Democrat). He was a supporter of Barry Goldwater in his youth, just like that OTHER conservative Democrat, Hillary Clinton.

            So you have one hour of an unabashed liberal voice on the station (Rachel Maddow) and THAT somehow makes MSNBC a liberal station?

            I think you need to learn the actual definition of the term liberal before you start calling yourself that, Fairliberal.

              So you think having their conservative voice on for morning coffee is a sign that they are not biased left? And what part did Joe play in their election coverage? Even Tom Brokaw was so embarassed working with them he had Matthews and Olbermann removed from the pre election coverage and replaced by David Gregory. I would agree that Olbermann is a boy with a grudge against Fox and a hatred for Bush, but his coverage does lead me to believe he is a liberal. To my knowledge he has never supported anything conservative.

                Every media company is ultimately biased to the right because their sponsors are not comprised of working people, their sponsors are corporations. Corporations do not stand for the working class, the left does. The right does not stand for working people, they stand for corporate expansion. Therefore, to maintain sponsorship, media companies must not upset the corporate conservative gravy-train.

                Joe actually did coverage at the convention. By the way, you should investigate some of Matthew's sexist comments on Hillary Clinton. Also, Matthews himself said absurd comments on Obama, such as how he shouldn't play pool because "only rich people can afford pool tables", and criticizing Obama for drinking orange juice at a restaurant.

                Trust me, MSNBC ain't all liberal. Better than Fox though!

                Let's put it this way:

                 Dear Rush Limbaugh, Why Are You Hell-Bent On Protecting A Radio Market That Limits Free Speech?»

                Dear Rush Limbaugh:

                We have a straightforward question, which we hope you will answer in a straightforward way: When a handful of major media companies control who and what is allowed to be broadcast on the commercial dial, how is that not regulation of radio content? When these same companies then push out one-sided, right-wing information 90 percent of the time, how does that uphold freedom of expression?

                Those of us at CAP, Free Press and other public interest organizations do not want to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine and we definitely do not want to limit free speech. We want more of it. You and other conservatives seem more interested in protecting a system that does the exact opposite.

                Puh-leez!  There is no such thing as a "liberal" major corporation.  MSNBC canned its top-rated host, Phil Donohue in the lead-up to the attack on Iraq, because he wasn't on board the jingo train.  Prior to that they had a rule that he MUST book two conservatives for each liberal.

                It seems to me that Olbermann is unabashadly liberal, as is Maddow.  MSNBC has provided a needed counter, for two hours, to the 24/7 right wing propotainment  on Faux News.  They wouldn't be doing it, however, if they hadn't seen profits, and the direction in which the electorate is headed.

        Not a lot of ehthusiasm for the fairness doctrine in these parts. Splitting up the media giants is more popular.

        Oberman is iffy, leaving Maddow as anywhere near a real liberal voice. Due to her backing of her opinions, I don't think there is a conservative equivilent to her.

      Limbo of course distorts what women's groups like NOW said about the brutal murder of the woman in Buffalo.  Far from dismissing the beheading as mere "cultural diversity" instead of domestic violence, this is what they actually said:

      ~~~While Muslim leaders have urged against applying cultural stereotypes to the crime, advocates for women linked the killing to attitudes in Muslim societies.
      “This was apparently a terroristic version of honor killing, a murder rooted in cultural notions about women’s subordination to men,” said Marcia Pappas, New York State president of the National Organization for Women.
      She decried the scant national media attention paid to the story, which broke the same day as the commuter plane crash that killed 50 people in Clarence.
      While domestic violence affects all cultures, Muslim women find it harder to break the silence about it because of a stigma, she said.
      “Too many Muslim men are using their religious beliefs to justify violence against women,” she said.~~~~~
      I think this is another desperate attempt by Rush Limbaugh to remain relevant. He sees his influence slipping and tries to compensate by being shrill and outrageous. He can no longer decide elections. He is starting to become a laughing stock.       Notice how both Rush and the caller use the words "us" and "them" over and over again. "Why don't "they" move.  This is "our" country.  "They should think like us or leave."  The caller is known as a ditto head meaning they all drink the same kool aid agreeing with everything Rush says.  The "us" and "them" scheme was Joseph McCarthy's way to trying to divide the country.  Rush not only sounds exactly like McCarthy, he's starting to look just like him since gaining all that weight.  They also try to portray people that disagree with them as something different than Democrats.  Since Kennedy was popular, one talking point Rush uses is "this is not the Democrats of John F. Kennedy....these are rapist, terrorist, liberals."  Scary time we are living in with these hate filled mouth pieces screaming "us" and "them."
      Hey, people! Wake up! As one who works in radio, I can tell you that there's one thing -- and ONLY one thing -- that is driving Rush Limbaugh's sudden plunge into seemingly on-air paranoia.
      Limbaugh is genuinely in full-scale panic mode -- but not about Obama.
      IT'S ALL ABOUT THE RATINGS, FOLKS!
      The latest Arbitron ratings are out, and they show that in a growing number of markets, Limbaugh's ratings have been steadily slipping since last summer -- and in several markets, Limbaugh is either tied with or has fallen behind Sean Hannity for the No. 1 talk-show spot.
      Limbaugh is going on this mad rant to stem his ratings slide by generating more publicity toward himself. He has to, because if his ratings continue to decline, advertisers will not be very happy.
