Actually, he never seemed that crazy on CNNHN. I don't know what happened when he went to Fox, did he just finally reveal his true self, or ramp up the insanity for ratings and the new audience? Who knows, but it's not like he has to pretend it's a secret he's nuts (no matter that he's "joking"). Everyone can see it.
Yes, Bill. Steven has a prop gun. He's going to go to Beck's house with that gun. Of course. Only you could put two and two together and suggest that he'd do that.
Moron.
Yuk. My God, man, he's NOT funny! He tries very, very hard. But he has found this niche of crazy lunatic Ted Nuggent & Chuck Norris wannabees that he is playing to right now. Let's see how long that holds out.
I've heard that he is organizing a trip to Guyana; have you heard anything about this?
If it's true, sign me up pronto!
What kind of guts does Mr. Beck have? He doesn't have any, and here's why. It doesn't take guts to spout off nonsense on a daily basis that has no basis in, you know, the real world. It's called being somewhat out of of touch, and just doing provocative things for the sake of being, well, provocative. Now, if you want to talk about guts in broadcasting, you can't really pick any really out of the crop of current reporters and or journalists that we have running things these days I don't think. If you want to talk about guts, think Edward R. Murrow, or other greats. What Beck does, doesn't take guts. It's easy to throw stuff around that isn't true when nobody is calling you on it, or when the network you work for expects you to be more nuts than the other person.
I do agree with you that we should be open to diversity of opinion, but that opinion should be based on knowledge, and that knowledge should be based on some facts, Mr. Beck does not do any of this. And who is saying on here that he shouldn't be on the air anyway? Fox is a network, and they can decide who they want on their little TV station. We don't have to agree with it, and can voice our displeasure at his nuttiness, which is basically what this forum is more or less about. We can challenge Mr. Beck's diversity of opinion because it's pure BS.
You say that Beck is not a threat to you, or your ideology. Being that you're a fan of his, I don't doubt this. But he is a threat to others, mostly because he has a large scale bully pulpit from which to speak from, and there are folks out there, such as yourself, who probably believe the crap that spews from his mouth on a daily basis, and this in and of itself is dangerous. Why? Well, look at what he's been doing lately. Gloom and doom about everything market wise. Gloom and doom about our President, calling him comrade, a socialist, a commie, and so on. You know, there are people out there who are maybe not as strong minded as others, and they make take this as a call to arms to defeat the communism that doesn't exist currently in our executive branch. Mr. Beck has outright called for revolution.
If you don't think things like that are dangerous, or at the very least, irresponsible, then I can't help you. But to hold this guy up as some example of some great broadcaster with "guts" is even more nuts than Beck himself.
Uh-oh. More "left-wing smear machine" crap from O'Reilly.
BTW, did you know that O'Reilly stole that PowerPoint slide idea the other day from this secret left-wing smear machine actual slide?
It's also funny to me how much they now hate David Brock, but they didn't have any such allusions when Brock actually WAS a smear merchant for the right.
And the last thing is that when he mentions this website, and if anyone with an open mind comes onto here to see what he's talking about, they'll see that indeed, he's wrong about MMFA being smear merchants for the left wing.
If you don't think Beck is over the top then you have never listened to his radio show. The reality is that his satire is spot on. I have been listening to Glenn for years, pre-television. He has ripped the policies of both sides of the isle and calls them as he sees them, which happens to reflect many of my convictions as well. www.912project.com You go Glenn!
Calling it like he sees it is code for, doesn't know what the heck he's talking about. Which for Mr. Beck, appears to be true about 99.9 percent of the time.
"You're right. I'm nuts."
Tell us something we didn't know already, Sparky!
