Why would Jon Stewart go after Dodd and Frank? They didn't tell anyone to buy Bear Sterns right before it tanked. They aren't the problem and Bildo can't seem to get that through his thick skull. When he stops vomiting conservative talking points and having washed up comedians as analysts on his show, maybe someone other than Jethro Bodeen will take him seriously. Until then he has one thing in common with Jon Stewart I will concede. They both host comedies.

And that's why-- if this guy is to be believed-- because Stewart does comedy shows, he shouldn't be taken seriously, just like...er.. other comedians?

Well , for one thing Frank did say in 7/08 that Fannie Mae was fundamentally sound going foward, and while he never actually touted the stock he certainly implied that the stock was a good long term investment. Shortly thereafter , the company collapsed. Since he was the chairman of the house banking commission he was in a position to know the truth and his comments could have been an inducement to buy the stock in Fannie. He was in a position to know more "inside info" than Cramer was about Bear Sterns.

This...this doesn't compute.  Dennis Miller with a logical argument?  That's like John Cleese with a live parrot.

Why would Jon go after Dodd and Frank?  If he was intellectually honest then he would know that Dodd and Frank both gave cover to FMac and FMae.  He won't go after them though.  They are towing the party line.  Cramer had the misfortune of stepping out of line and took a pot shot at Barry O.

        TBone, come on...

The cons have told so many lies about Barney Frank.  You've bought it, hook, line and sinker.

Some of those lies were fed to you by your own Ted Baxter.  Go figure.

Funny, the video youtube took down you linked to was on youtube. How was the legislation blocked? The GOP controlled the House and Senate so they controlled what got out of committee back in 2003 when Frank spoke the truth. Who blocked what exactly? Strange the video made no mention of legislation Frank helped get into law once the Dems took over in 2007. Did you hear the news about AIG? What did Frank and Dodd do to sink that Titanic? Bear Stern? Lehman bros? The entire banking industry? Try again.

Who blocked what?  That's the point.  Frank did nothing but prop up FMac/Mae while the books were being cooked.  That is what the video points out (the canadian version...the us version was pulled, for the person asking).

You miss my point tbone. According to the video, Frank blocked GOP legislation to increase oversight of Fannie and Freddie. My question is how? At the end of the video, the narrator says that once legislation cleared committee, it was never put before a vote. Why? The GOP controlled the House, Senate and WH at the time. Did the Dems threaten filibuster? I need more facts and less speculation. It just doesn't add up.

The Gop only had a 1 or 2 vote majority in the senate until 2004, and much less of a majority in the house than the dems have now. They never had a large enough majority to pass something without dem support, so the proposals were never brought to a vote.

      Amazing!!

These 2 twittering morons, blushing like schoolgirls trying to secure a date to the prom.  This is now the news?

Are there really a significant number of people in America who actually watch this trash?  Enough to sell some laundry detergent?

With this discussion and his rant against Beck has the delirium and fear of 9-11 washed out of Miller's eyes and has he begun to his senses?

Miller may not be as stupid as he pretends to be. Or, maybe he's not as stupid as he is short.

Of course it's a comedy show, but why is Miller speaking from behind a banner for Fox News. Fox News is neither a fox nor is it news.
