Boy I dont know where to begin on this.Basicly RUDDY is full of c--p and missinforming his audience. FDR did, slowly, improve the economy . from 1932 to 1937 umemployment  went down each year and he never  engaged in class warfare, that's the REPUBLICANS specialty.

Cavuto has been waging a war against class for a LONG time.

I am glad to see he no longer is having daily debates on "George W. - Greatest President Ever?"

Yup, see, the New Deal is anti-Reagan so in the small dimunitive world of conservative free-market economics: (a) the economy will recover on its own (b) the New Deal didn't work and (c) Amity Shlaes is a hero even though she LED the friggin' SEC while they looked the other way during schemes and scandals. Fun times at Fox!

I've been seeing less of the FDR comparisons here. Methinks it's testing badly with the Rove Ranger Push Poller because FDR is also perceived to have led the nation during the time we kicked ass during WW2 (the greatest war ever for conservatives). It ain't sticking when making arguments about depression era policies, because nobody remembers and neocons are terrible at history.

Franklin Roosevelt saved capitalism. The very people who complained loudest about him being a communist, a socialist, a dictator in waiting -- rich, conservative Republican captains of industry and finance -- are the ones who ought to be most grateful to0 Roosevelt.

These conservative myths about the New Deal fly in the face of reality. After FDR took office, the economy did improve and unemployment did fall. In fact, the one year that didn't happen was the one year Roosevelt gave up New Deal policies for the conservative "cut taxes for rich people and government spending" prescription. As soon as he switched back to New Deal measures, the economy improved and unemployment went down again.

Since actual reality flies in the face of conservative economic philosophy, conservatives have to rewrite history.

By the way, if FDR was so unsuccessful, how did he consistently attract Republicans to his administration, including Ickes, Stimson, Knox, and Willkie?

Franklin Delano Roosevelt was one of the three greatest presidents. He led the United States as it saved capitalism in the 1930s and democracy in the 1940s. Period.

And while I think of it, conservative Republican businessmen plotted ACTUAL warfare against Franklin Roosevelt. How come that's never mentioned by the "class warfare" anti FDR crowd?
