Yeah....
Dear Glen Beck,
You are a mama's boy! A punk! A pathetic insect! A useless excuse for a human being! A waste of human flesh comes to mind!
Your most over used motto would be about running out of missiles... well... my most over used motto about you if you were in elected office would be... Your an idiot!
Nah... I take that back... IT IS my not quite over used motto toward you!
So, the radical right want to be president an uneducated doofus who has never served in the military and has zero accomplishments. You run with it, righties.
Personally, I'm a Congregationalist, which is a directly descended from Puritanism. Y'all know the famous phrase about Puritans?
A Puritan is someone with the lurking suspicion that someone, somewhere is happy!
Too much humor is...well...it's not exactly wrong...So it made you laugh? Then go ahead and explain to us stiffs the humor behind it. I'll watch some real comedy while I wait. Maybe pop in a Three Stooges DVD.
After watching low-life scumbags like Becky, O'Racist, and Vannity, I'm convinced, beyond all previous doubt, that the right has zero intelligence.
I'm new to Media Matters, and this is my first post, but the videos I've seen on this site so far underwhelm me. I was thinking the focus would be on hosts of shows giving biased views with these views being somewhat endorsed by their networks. So far, what I've seen are guests saying stupid things and being challenged in the same clip (Tucker Carlson on CNN about Jon Stewart) and Glen Beck muttering something almost incomprehensible -- muttering, not making a point.
I don't feel like digging all thorgh the site. Maybe you could make a "most egregious" section that most people could read and discuss -- and then a I-don't-have-a-life-so-I'll-watch-and-comment-on-everything section that tracks every stpidity coming from the lips ofthe right-wing ideologues.
Greg

County Fair works differently than the rest of the site-- it's mostly about absurdities, and not necessarily conservative misinformation.
Yes, Beck is absurd, Faux is absurd, the right-wing is absurd and collectively they are all jokes. But, they are far from comedic. Time-and-time again the sad and pathetic right-wing prove that they have zero concept of comedy.
Absurdity is certainly a type of comedy, I won't deny that, but the reason i think so many people find him unfunny is that he can't decide on whether to be funny or serious.
However, Beck, like many of the extreme pundits out there, both right and left, have problems trying to cater to viewers with both comedy and sincerity. Beck can be so serious one moment, then attempt to do a 180 and throw in a snarky comment. If Beck were to choose one form or the other, then I would tend to be able to distinguish the difference between his comedy and his sincerity.
It's the same reason I didn't laugh when Laura Ingraham tried her valley-girl routine on Meghan McCain. It's the same reason I don't laugh when Keith Olbermann tries to counter his pitbull attacks with poodle humor. Pundits are made for one or the other and should not try to blur the line between humor/satire and seriousness.
The fact Beck's a loose cannon with ideas that are against the grain doesn't help either.
Or you clock.
Are people on this site actually trying to defend Beck as a satirist? REALLY? Are you that out of touch with reality? He clearly is.
If he does not consider himself a satirist (which he clearly does not) then he is not performing satire. I don't care how high up your clocktower is, even you can see reality from there. Right?
I like how these right wing blowhards project an "all knowing" mantra day in and day out and when asked about running......nah.
None of these boneheads would get beyond the raise money phase
We also hear this when Ann Coulter talks about, you know, killing Supreme Court justices. It's just a joke, how come we liberals don't have a sense of humor?
Rush plays Barack the Magic Negro. It's just comedy. How come we liberals don't have a sense of humor.
You guys are freakin' the most ridiculously idiotic when you defend absolutely stupid things by claiming that they're meant to be a joke. Let me let you in on a little secret. Talking about killing people? Not funny. Talking about poisoning people? Not funny. Making fun of someone's race? Not funny.
If you righties want to see comedy based on politics and current events. Take a look at the Daily Show, or the Colbert Report. Seriously. That's comedy and satire. Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh, et all are not comedic shows, even though they end up being unintentionally funny because, well, they're so ridiculous. Not funny ha ha, funny strange.
I think the main problem with "comedians" in the right-wing is that the right-wing isn't built for comedy. It's meant to get things done by keeping the system unaltered, rigid, and immovable, and that applies to their "comedy".
I suppose that's why the likes of Beck, Coulter, Malkin, Ingraham, Limbaugh, etc. feel they can snipe with sarcasm and call it comedy; it's them trying to laugh without the painful movement from their diaphragm.
Just got back, and what else can I say but YIKES? A lot of talk about overthrowing the federal government, one way or another. Huge amounts of hatred for Democrats, mostly blaming them for our financial crisis. Lots of militia paranoia. Chatter about 'elitist liberals' who are destroying the nation with their treason.
On the other hand, what else was I expecting from people who take their political cues from the Rancid Doughboy?
They would follow Beck off a cliff and just might.
When compared to the 912 project mission, principles, etc., the comments are not only wacko, they are hypocritical in the extreme. This is nothing less than a cult.
