      I would have bet a small, tiny amount of money that crooksandliars.com's preemptive strike against just this sort of commentary would be unnecessary. But no, the republicans are happy with mind-numbing predictability, and would keep doing it even if they knew they were doing it.

      The republican party is not only the dumbest and most contemptible party ever, but it is actually approaching the theoretical limits. The only way they could get worse is to commit murder on live national television.

      They should have 0% approval and 0% of the vote. Each percent above that illustrates how broken our democracy is.

        And as the way things are now, with 0% approval and 0% of the vote, we wouldn't have a democracy (no viable third option at the moment).  Is that really what we want?

          Yeah, for the next twelve years.  Then an opposition party can arise from the ashes that is to the LEFT of the democratic party.

          If you lament the loss of "real conservatism", there's no getting it back.  The swine we elected for the last 30 years all pretended to be real conservatives, and we can never afford to fall for that ruse again.
