Of course, this wouldn't be true if FDR were a Repub, I am certain.

Yet New Deal programs were expanded and continued under R's like Eisenhower & Nixon.

Oh, wait, I GET IT ... Anything not Reagan is anti-American!

The radical right hate FDR and his New Deal because it resulted in a Democratic majority in the House and Senate for over 40 years.  Why?  Because America was happy and was succeeding.  The counter revolution to this success and Democratic Majority is the true roots of conservatism.  The Cons HATE the fact that America loves the Big Tent Democratic Party.  That's why they want Obama and America to fail.  They can't afford another 40 years of a successful America because it will prove once and for all that conservatism is just an extremist faction that doesn't work.

That explains the push to re-write history. If you can't win with the current generation, do your damnedest to make sure the next generation doesn't know what happened so you can mold them to your design. If the rightwing has it's way high school science will be taught out of a pop-up book and you will be able to get a college degree in creationism (a proposal just introduced here in texas btw!).

I heard Levin and Hannity going back and forth with one another yesterday on the radio. I couldn't tell them apart as to who was speaking at any one time. It was weird.

Levin was going on and on about his new book (I wonder who is going to buy THAT crap) and how he was all about the Constitution and our founding fathers and all. Funny though, he went on a rant about God and our founders, and so on and so forth, and mentioned that in the Declaration, they mentioned God all over the place, and that is what we base our laws upon. Actually Levin, the Constitution is what we base our laws upon. The Declaration was a strongly worded and well written press release, tell the king of England to go and "F" himself. The Constitution, which you said you hold so dear to your heart, does not mention God or religion hardly at all, except to express that we have the freedom of whatever religion we want, and that the government will not specify a religion.

I wish these guys would go back, and, you know, read some history.

Lets put this in perspective. This book is Published by Threshold Edition

an imprint of Simon and Schuster. Mary Matilin has been the editor.

      They print only conservative titles

      http://www.simonsays.com/content/destination.cfm?tab=1&pid=516708

Levin shamelessly has used his radio program to constantly pitch his books as does Hannity (radio and television). The only way Levin can get anyone to show up for a book signing is to get Hannity to sponsor the event with free coffee and the promise that other talk radio entertainers will drop by. Then they purposely under ordered, or hid his book so that it looks like he sold out every copy.

His Men in Black book was panned as a cut and past hack job and his big claim to fame, other being a maniacle, lying little troll is that he ran errands for Ed Meese.

He really should stick with overly sweet and tear jerking drama of his

      dog books

His dog book was absolute rubbish. He did some namedropping in it, ala Rush and Hannity which demonstrated the real intent of the book - another way to stick his horrid politics into what should have been a 'tribute' to his dog. Just looking at sample pages from a well-known etailer proves that fact. When it comes to writing, Levin is an amateur and that's being very generous.

Who'd da thunk that Franklin would become such a scapegoat? World economies, especially the USA's, changed so radically after WW2 it seems bizarre to talk about Roosevelt as if his admin was 10 years ago. Ancient history is a easy fallback for these clods, and their audience most likely has no reference point except what Fox spews.

Actually he saved capitalism by stabilizing failing companies and creating jobs. We could have ended up like Italy or Germany. The wingnuts are following their usual practice of idealizing a non existant utopian past and pretending that there was never a need for change.

Actually, Obama signed his book deal before he took office. You need to do some more research, and or read something.

Thing is, Obama's books were bestsellers on their own, before he was even a US Senator. Levin, et all, only write crappy books, and no real publisher would take them. Show us a liberal counterpart to Levin's publisher, I am willing to bet, that you can't find one.

Missdee - Perhaps the problem you have here is that you do not understand the difference between a book deal and a book being published.

So what is Obama pushing on the radio & TV? His book deal? His non-existent book?

Whats'a matter, dee, bush's book deal got you down? Maybe he can find a rich conservative or three to buy a few thousand copies in bulk to help inflate sales and make his book look more popular than it really is. But just a suggestion - for his next book, perhaps he should refrain from doing another pop-up...

The modern American English dictionary would be too much for the rightwingers - they prefer one-page handouts filled with buzzwords instead.

Lib, 'Democrat' Party, terrorist, WMD, mushroom cloud, Iraq, 9/11, statist, Marxist, Nazi, Islamofascist, tyranny, Joe the Plumber, Palin, Bush, GWOT, Cheney, raise your taxes, alert, threat, etc. There, I just saved you the effort of having to obtain one of those rightwing wordlists.

It really hacks me that these RIGHT WING MORONS cotinue totrash FDR one of our greatest presidents ever. What kills them is that FDR came in to fix a decade of CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN rule that led to the GREAT DEPRESSION. Now OBAMA has come in to clean up a decade of CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN rule that led to the mess we are in now. My question to these two idiots is this, If FDR was so bab for AMERICA by their standards, why was he reelected 3 times by overwhelming majorities each time?

Here.. shove this up your nose, from your own beloved Huff'n'Puff Post.....

      "

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama, a best-selling author who received royalties of $2.5 million last year, will get hundreds of thousands more for a youth-oriented version of his published memoir and will write a nonfiction book after he leaves the White House.

Obama agreed in early January to deliver the new book after he leaves office. The White House said he already had a deal with Crown Publishing Group to write another book, and agreed Jan. 9 that he would produce the book after his term ends.

About a week later, shortly before his inauguration, Obama agreed to a $500,000 advance for an abridged version of "Dreams From My Father" that would be suitable for middle school or young adult readers, according to a new personal financial disclosure report released this week.

Obama will get $250,000 of the advance and the publisher will get the other half, a White House spokesman said Thursday, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to be quoted by name."

Let's see.. the deal as signed  January 9, 2009. He was elected Nov 4th....  seems to me that qualifies.

The problem is that you hypocrits dont' even pay attention to your own liberal blather sources enough to  know anything. You just attack me wiithout doing your own research. Well Rush hates it - last week he ranted about how he hates people who manufacture things, doctors, lawyers, and scientists. Lots of capitalism going on in those fields. Oh, and educators too.

Rush's idea of 'capitalism' apparently is sitting on your ass moving paper and counting cash. No actual 'work' involved, nothing being produced. Very much like what he does 15 hours/week except he moves his mouth.

oh yes, you all do.. it's calle "Piled Higher and Deeper"..."

What is absolutely hilarious my friend about what you posted, is that you just disproved your own point, and more than proved ours, by using HuffPo as a matter of fact.

See, as you know, the election was in November. Apparently, what you don't know, is that Obama takes office on January 20, 2009, that's why it is called Inauguration day. This is when the term of the previous President (Bush in this case) runs out. We, the liberals on this site, refuted what you were saying, because we said, and you even proved us correct, was that Obama was not writing a book while in office, and made no deals to write a book, while in office. Never happened. Thanks for providing that information for us, to make us look like we knew what we were talking about, and for once again to prove your ignorance about all things democratic (like how Inauguration works).

Also, you might want to read up on the electoral college, and how that all works:

        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Electoral_College

Michael Savage has a PhD, and that doesn't make him smart. Earning a PhD doesn't make one smart, it makes one good at schoolwork. And going by the blather you normally post, you might want to give your PhD back. What was it in? Because for one so apparently educated, and who didn't know that Obama didn't take the Presidency until 20-Jan-09, phew boy.

One author is an accomplished leader, a strong communicator and role model for many who thought they could never break the barriers, and the other "author" is a vile nasty little wannabe who is a feeding tick on the back of the self righteous right media stars. Tough choice but I think I'll choose President Obama. At least I know I'm reading original content, not a cut and paste, name dropping hack job!
