All of this smoke about socialism and communism and Marxism, it just screens and obscures what should be real and substantial and important Public Policy talk on the subject: are today's American financial services companies (Wall Street) to be trusted with so much unregulated American CAPITAL?
I mean, can we really trust these fund managers to be the nearly unregulated custodians of so many American's 401k retirement accounts, and other investment savings accounts?
It's a good question, and lots of people are asking it.
But seeing as the answer might be no, we can't trust these fund managers (on Wall Street) with so much private and unregulated control of so much important American CAPITAL, then what we see instead in the media, is foolish smoke screens about socialism and communism and Marxism... all of it heading off any real and substantive talk about CAPITAL in America, and about the American People's CAPITAL of their private retirement savings accounts and other investment and savings accounts.
I guess if you're afraid to talk about the excesses of CAPITALISM, and the hazards of trusting so much CAPITAL to fund managers who seem hell bent on losing it (or diverting it to their business associates and even to themselves, and leaving worthless paper behind), then sure, start screeching about socialism and communism and Marxism.
It's like the 1930's, deja vu all over again.
(You know, "too big to fail" can also mean "too much money to not at least steal a trillion or so dollars of it": it just depends on who you are, and where you work, and whether anyone's looking over your shoulder if you're the custodian of so much of the American People's CAPITAL.)
...and if you should discuss the matter in substantive terms, or even just meditate on it yourself, keep always in mind that we live in an American DEMOCRACY, where the majority rules.
Does it ever seem these days as if someone (Republicans and the media both) is trying to distract you from that fact, and con you into thinking the minority rules, or co-rules?
It doesn't.
The majority rules in our American Democracy.
Let's poll the American People (and not just Republicans or the media) about the future regulation of our banking system and financial services companies, who hold so much of our strategically important and precious CAPITAL, as custodians of sort.
Let's put it to a vote... the majority rules.
I think the rapture is already happening. Republicans are disappearing off of the country's radar at an alarming rate!
This is funny because the 500 Rove Rangers who sit in a room plotting how to take down this president (and send out the talking points to their mouthpieces) don't know how to message without attack negativity. The rest of the nation is rejecting this, what are they to do?
I shiver with anticipation and dread.
Too funny with the name calling coming from FoxNoise, and I guess they are jumping ahead of President Obama, his Administration, and the Democrats "revising" the Financial Codes to make sure this Economic Mess our Country is in gets "fix". Great job, Dem020202
