      For the record, Beck later criticized what Steyn said.  Plus it seems like Steyn was going for shock value anyway.

      also 'nothing' as compared to the treatment of Lebanese and Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons, but I guess its best we just dont talk about it. Moral equivalence in these situations is an appalling approach. Anyone whos seen 'road to Guantanomo' knows torture of prisoners is not a subject for comedy. this guy can go to hell.

      I'd say this. Put into the place of these Iraqis American soldiers. And if you think it's OK for our soldiers (here's a hint, it wouldn't be), then you can say it's not a big deal.

      Thing is, things like Abu Gharib made people hate Americans in Iraq even more, and probably prolonged the war, and ticked up recruitment for other folks from other Muslim nations to come to Iraq to kill the infidels.
