Do you really think the Mannity will play the remainder of the clip and apologize for being misleading and not telling the whole story? Just a thought.

      "...not...quite...fair."

I love how he draws that out as if it pains him to admit it, and as if he were struggling to come up with an even more wishy washy way to say it.

Wow, this guy could've really gone for Hannity's throat, but of course they backed off because Murdoch may buy them and make them a bunch of talking points and when someone goes off the talking points they just yell over someone and whatnot. Seriously Olbermann can't do this alone other people on networks and talk shows need to really call out this kind of editing and false journalism. Now am I saying Olbermann is always clean and perfect not a chance in the world but at least he goes all out and doesn't hold anything back when someone brings false "facts" and very unfair editing. Just saying "it's quite unfair" isn't enough.

Olbermann overdoes it. His hyperbole blows his points and destroys his credibility.

Anyone see Ben Affleck's great SNL parody of 'O? Most people missed the point of it-- it wasn't the bluster that was funny so much, it was the ridiculous topic of his cat being rejected by a condo. That's Olbermann. He's a buffoon who'd rather push red-herrings.

What Olbermann subjects do you think are the equivalent of a cat being barred from a condo? Bush lying us into an unnecessary war? Bush's incompetent (non)response to Hurricane Katrina? Bush lying about torture? The lies and misinformation surrounding FISA and illegal wiretapping? The passing of Prop 8?

My criticism with Olbermann last year was his over-the-top sexist trashing of Hillary and slavish praise of Obama.  This year, that's obviously not a problem anymore- so my criticism is the obsession with trivial crap which draws him into having idiot unfunny "comedians" on his show to snark about Hollywood, American Idol, and other witless, brainless junk.

This Olbermann conversation is killing me. So he ALWAYS exaggerates? No examples of course, after being asked for them. So he was a big sexist meanie to Hillary Clinton? Let's not even talk about the primaries. I'm sorry, but I watched 8 million people whom I thought were compatriots check their brains at the door and defend the exact same ugly, desperate campaign they then spent the rest of the election ridiculing when John McCain ran it. Geez, Clinton supporters came within about 3 words of accusing "the media" of liberal bias. Can I have permission to not listen to them when they call somebody sexist?

"Anyone see Ben Affleck's great SNL parody of 'O?"

Yes, it was inept and demonstrated that Affleck had never seen Olbermann before. Keith has many traits that are open to ridicule, and Affleck hit none of them, except the changing camera angles, and the director did that.

But I'm interested in what aspects of Olbermann's satire is the same as Hannity's outright lies. No one who brings up Olbermann can ever point to an example, and I believe you will continue the trend.

No, what was funny about it was Affleck's over the top bluster about a topic that warranted no consideration. That's what Olbermann does all the time-- his high decibel outrage and indignancy at absolutely everything.

After awhile, you can't take him seriously any more-- he becomes a caricature. It's always hyperbole with the guy.

yes hannity is a spinning twisting and occasional liar. keith on the other hand is a spinning twisting and occasional liar. he misquoted murdoch's "won't tolerate facts" when he said "fat", for one and there are many more on olberman watch. even with his "i'm so much smarter than everyone in the world" attitude, i still watch him more than hannity. still get angry at him though.

and Keith corrects himself when he makes those errors.  Every time.  Like in always.

Why is it that Olbermann Watch never, like in not ever, mention those?

OW spreads as much falsehood as Fox.

And if anyone deserves it, O'Reilly does.  It just cracks me up how Keith dogs this big heaping pile of yellow journalism that is Fox and O'Reilly everyday.

Anything Olbermann comments on is in context and fully quoted. He doesn't truncate it like Insannity, O'liarly or Heck. But I suppose that is what angers republicans most; they're only used to half truths and innuendo and, as such, fully verifiable stories rubs them the wrong way.

You may not like Keith Olbermann, but I rarely see specific refutations against what Olbermann says being backed up with facts. At least, pundits on the left tend to use factual references to back up their claims.

All the right-wing has going for it is slander and innuendo. How many times was "Obama Nation" sourced, for example?

I give Keith credit for being provocative and forcing the right-wing to react.

How many pro-active progressive pundits are there out there anyway? I can count them on one hand.

And then both Hannity and Kurtz leave out this paragraph that came right after Obama criticized both Americans who think America is perfect and Europeans who think America is fatally flawed. *****

On both sides of the Atlantic, these attitudes have become all too common. They are not wise. They do not represent the truth. They threaten to widen the divide across the Atlantic and leave us both more isolated. They fail to acknowledge the fundamental truth that America cannot confront the challenges of this century alone, but that Europe cannot confront them without America.  *****

I understand that they have sound bites on TV, but it is this statement by Obama that should have garnered attention, not the previous ones.

Wow, what a wimp this Kurtz guy is. CNN has really gone by the wayside with their sucking up to the Conservatives. There's a huge sucking noise coming out of CNN as of late. When will these people grow a pair?? I mean, John King is utterly annoying and completely biased, he doesn't even try to hide it. It seems as if CNN has crossed voer to the dark side in order to get their viewers back.

Case in point? When's the last time we saw Ron Reagan on TV? Or Patrick Kennedy?

You never see anyone on TV make pointed rebuttals to right wing nonsense. they always dance around the issue--they never interrupt, they never challenge a question's phony premise.

The reason is simple: they'll never be asked on again, and they'll lose their triple or quadruple scale fee. So it goes with TV liberals-- and after awhile, their inability to argue a point becomes innate. They forget how to, or they don't want to any more-- the money's too good.

Maybe they're afraid that the wusses on the left rather than admit that their defensive attacks on the right are warranted and necessary are "over the top bluster about a topic that warranted no consideration" or "high decibel outrage and indignancy at absolutely everything".

Maybe they're afraid that those who agree with them and should strongly support them will instead, in an attempt to be considered fair, accuse them of being "a caricature" or dismiss them of always using "hyperbole".

Are you kidding me?  This is a pitiless hack, dumping his bile on America.  A filthy, filthy man and a disgrace to America.

And it's "not quite fair"?  Our economy has been driven into a conservative ditch, our media has been driven into a conservative ditch.  Our middle class is destroyed.

      And it's "not quite fair"?

Commentators are now so cowed they get a lump in their throats when they dare question even the most outrageous abuses.

Wow, really, someone does not play all of a comment.  So, Fox does what every left wing website does daily, I guess it is only fair when they do it.  No matter what, Obama's Teleprompter did tell him to bash the U.S. and he did.  That was the talking point of Hannity’s piece.  I guess we are forgetting the real issue here, that is Obama's trip around Europe sucking up to everyone and saying Sorry, mean while N. Korea shoots off a rocket and Obama does not more then shake a finger and say shame on you. WIMP>

Maybe you could support your points or not! As to the European sucking up ... we can see what the Mr. Tough Guy [pretenders] got for us. Total disrespect. Rockets from N Korea? Where were the elementary school yard bullies on July 4, 2006 when N Korea fired 6 medium range rockets toward our allies? Well?
