I'd be willing to bet that very few of those with terminal paranoia about the President are dues paying members of any political party.

I beg to differ. They may be members of America's nazi party?

Many are holed up in bunkers right now watching Glenn Beck reruns.

I am not sure who pays dues to their political party, but Michelle Bachman is clearly a member of the Republican party.  And, if you think she is alone you should listen to Republican talk radio for a few minutes.

OK, now we have "slice" down to a handful.  My point is that there are a lot of "Christians" (self-professed) out there that don't meet my criteria of "Christian", just as there are a lot of paranoids out there besides members of one political party (self-professed members or actual dues paying members aside). I remember well Not-So-Rosy and her "steel doesn't melt (or something similar).  From that am I to assume that all GLTs are paranoid also?

It might be a handful, but Bachman does represent a lot of people from Minnesota. I don't believe really that the paranoia about Obama is immensely widespread, but I see the fog bank getting bigger and larger. I talk to people who believe these things. And these are what I would call educated and rational people. These are also the same people who believed that Obama was a secret muslim, and was going to install Sharia law into the US as soon as he was sworn in. These are the same folks who were CERTAIN that Obama was NOT an US citizen, and that we were being swindled during the election. There are lots of people that believe these things that people keep talking about, mostly because they trust and believe the people saying these things. People like Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, Savage, and others. I wish I had a dime for every time I was speaking with some colleagues of mine, and the discussion turned to politics, and possibly talk radio, and I would hear something along the lines of, "Well, Mr. (insert appropriate name of talk show host here) is the only one brave enough to tell us the TRUTH about Obama. That's why I believe him." Of course, they never bother to actually determine if so and so is telling the truth or not, they just inherently believe them.

That's what scares me the most about these guys. And how do you think people who are maybe a little unhinged, maybe a little less educated, and don't have access to multiple information sources view these guys?

A handful?  That's funny.  I read somewhere where right wing talk radio claims to have millions of listeners a day.  Must not be true.  That is nice to know.
