Ok, so whenever a Muslim commits a crime against a non-Muslim anywhere in the world, that's evidence that we are "at war with Islam?"
And what happens when a Christian commits a crime against a Christian (which only occurs every few seconds?) Does that mean that there's a civil war between Christians going on?
What a moron.
Yeah, because if we went to war against every group and sub-group every time one of the members of those groups and sub-groups went off the deep end, all humans would be dead.
I hope the people who are upset with these statements don't think they are new, post-9/11 commentary on Islam. I recommend the book "The Crusades: Then and Now", because rather than being about the crusades, it is an expose on premodern "Islamophobe" propaganda. It's all the same complaints, phrased with the same sarcastic fear/belittlement for the past 1400 years. There are MAJOR mistakes in our history books today, started and perpetuated by christian monks (who were the only western historians at the time), and that's why Rush Limbaugh's worldview is reminiscent of 10th grade history.
The Moors who were stopped at tours were not a horde of jihadists bent on conquering Europe. They were a private army fighting for a prince who sought to expand his influence and help a french/spanish ally. If it had been a Jihad, Martel would have been swamped with a hundred different types of 'moors'.
