      SILENT MAJORITY??

How much more phony crap can this joint peddle before they are called out by the rest of the MSM?

61% of Americans approve of Obama and 56% approve of his handling of the economy.

Only 36% said they wanted to start a Fox News Tea Party.

      What MAJORITY, FNC???

openmindedness? Dude, tell me how many demonstrations against a sitting president that you can find where a major news corporation (News Corp/Fox News in this case) actually FUND RAISED and PROMOTED demonstrations with their own "news channel" as part of their name?? Such as, in this case, "FNC TAX TEA PARTY" ...

Here's a disturbing video of Channel 12 News reporter Angela Ingram being harassed by protesters at the Cincinnati "tea party" in March. They were falsely accusing her of  trying to get footage of a pro-Obama demonstrator. In fact, she didn't even do that. They were apparently confusing her with another station's reporter.

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2tW1_ovjzM

Despite this, she gave a sympathetic report about the protest, and even thanked the "tea party" organizer who interceded on her behalf.

Remind me again about the positive coverage that Faux gave the anti-war and anti-dubyah protestors.  Thank you.

By the way, why would Faux be concerned if the press gave "positive coverage" to anti-Obama protests?

I can only hope and pray that most of us will ignore this. We should know by now that if Fox News is sponsoring it, it's got to be ANTI Obama. Only the Limbaugh lunatics, Hannity hypocrites and Beck bone-heads, along with that pathetic group known as the congressional Republicans, will support this latest attempt to gain attention.  I hope the White House (and the Media) ignore this "gimmick"  and remain focused on the MAJORITY of the American people who SUPPORT President Obama  and want him to SUCCEED.

I saw this coming. What Fox is doing is the same thing that the right wing did to the rest of the news stations. Claiming a liberial media bias caused the rest of the news stations to cover and kiss _ss of the right wing. When Fox asked the question of positive coverage for this silliness the rest of the media will do it so as not to be accused of liberal media bias. This old trick just keeps working.

Hey, I say the other media sources cover these parties, as they should, it could be news of the day and all. Don't give them positive coverage. Don't give them negative coverage, just give them coverage, and for once, just report on the proceedings. I'm sure anything other than a glowing report about these parties will be perceived by Fox and their supporters as being liberal bias and all.

It's not the job of journalists to provide "positive coverage" or "negative coverage," just COVERAGE if the networks deem the event worthy of coverage.  The Fox News "Tea Parties" are as much a creature of Fox as American Idol is, and about as newsworthy.  Sean Hannity's "Freedom Concerts" are as newsworthy as these "Tea Parties."

I hope all the other networks ignore these phony, paid-for-Fox "protests."  Fox paid for them, Fox is promoting them, let Fox cover them.

They really think that the people attending are doing so because it's an "anti-stimulus" and "anti-entitlement" protest? Of course they don't. FNC knows, as well as the attendees, that this is a general anti-Obama/anti-DNC protest.

The bailout was passed under Bush and Bush and the GOP oversaw the biggest entitlement program in decades (the new Medicare program), but these people didn't say a word.

Now, because of this stimulus package that will most likely benefit many of these people, they are up in arms over government programs? Yeah, right. They are anti-Obama people who can't get over that their candidate (I mean Huckabee or Ron Paul, of course) didn't even get through the primaries, and their last-ditch effort McCain lost the presidential election.

They pretend that they are heroic and that they are doing "tea parties" to stand up to power, but they know of course that it's nothing of the kind. They try and pretend that they are somehow following the revolutionaries and the founding fathers, which only proves that they really haven't the slightest clue about American history (hint, guys: the Boston tea party wasn't a protest against the elected American government).

I probably get too worked up over this, as I'm sure that everyone knows exactly what's going on here - it's a partisan continuation of the despicable methods the same people used during the latter part of the Presidential campaign. But I can't help it, especially when the rest of the mainstream media keeps ignoring the real issues here, and go along with the Fox News slogans.

Fox  News, and the people being lead like sheep into attending these "parties," really need to just grow up.  We've got a President barely getting started with his program, working hard to fix problems years in the making,  and ten weeks in we're calling for a "Revolution?"

I am totally in favor of free speech- if you really want to meet Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck that badly, and maybe get an autograph, go to one of these "tea parties" and have yourself some fun.  But don't try to sell me on this being some kind of grass-roots movement or "Silent Majority" rising up, demanding to be heard.  Because sorry, it just isn't.  It's a bunch of whiny dopes who will do whatever the Man on the Radio and FNC tells them to do, without knowing or caring why.

Sure, this deserves coverage.  Call it "CNN investigates America's Newest, Scariest Cult," or something.

I have two friends who are attending these parties because they think it is about taxes. They think there taxes are getting raised. Neither has ever made over 50K a year. Sort of the Joe the Plumber angle.

Let me get this straight...Silent Majority lets say 45%. That is okay with Fox listeners. Remember, a 4% increase in defense spending is a decrease. But a 4% increase on rich mans' taxes is an increase. Please read between the lines of the Fox news headlines and website. If you look closely, you will see the following "You are stupid idiots and we need you to do this for us. We know your minds are weak and you need to follow anything stupid. We will give you all the stupidy you need, Just stay with us. We need ratings. And if the advertisers like us, they'll pay more to us and charge you more to make up for the difference." There is more but you get the pictures.

I think that the "biased" News media should cover it as a news story and report what it truly has become. If Foxs' stench is part of it, it should be covered. They asked for a fair report. I hope they get it. Then they cannot cry about a biased media.

Anyone here Polentys' rebuttal on Obama radio address today. Obama talked about the world aorking together to get everyone out of the mess with AMERICA leading the way. Polenty, a would-be president, drank the tea and said that he hoped that Obama wouldn't raise taxes. From hence forth, Polent with be described as Gov. Polenty-T.

Check out right wing radio-- all these goons want to talk about is Obama's "ineffective' handling of the Somalia pirate situation- one of these idiots demanded that Obama basically tell us EXACTLY what he plans to do to rescue the hostage; these guys had a thousand excuses for the most secretive administration in US History, but the President now is supposed to be completely transparent in letting us in on delicate negotiations and military plans concerning hostages- unbelievable.

Of course, the last thing these guys care about is consistency.  Criticize Bush= Treason.  Criticize Obama= Patriotism.  Got it.

Whoever these people are that Fux is trying to whip up, WHAT DO THEY WANT?

WHAT ARE THEY IN FAVOR OF?

Mindless opposition is not actually a political initiative: you'd have to want something to happen, or be in favor of something, in order to say you had a political initiative.

Also, whatever they want and whatever they're in favor of (if anything), they'd have to want someone to act as their agent, to get it done... like an agent in Congress, such as a Senator or Representative...

WHO DO THEY SUPPORT, WHO DO THEY WANT TO REPRESENT THEM, AND ACT AS THEIR AGENT?

Again, irrational hatred is not a Public Policy opinion or initiative.

Never in the history of the United States, has hatred in and of itself ever caused anything constructive to happen: no Law was ever made due solely to hatred, nor has the National Security of the U.S. ever been been made safer, due simply to hatred: the Founding Fathers and the Union Forces and even the U.S. Armed Forces that won WWII, all stood for something other than simple hatred... General Washington and President Lincoln and FDR and General Eisenhower, and all their supporters among the American People, they all wanted something and they all were in favor of something and they all supported someone to do those things for them...

And so again, what do these people that Fux are whipping up, what do they want, and what are they in favor of, and who are they supporting as their agent or representative or even President, to do those things (whatever they are) for them?

      George W. Bush maybe?

DEM02020, Could it be as simple as they are sore losers and just have to hate something. The Fox lineup of stars thought they could win the election---THEY WERE LOSERS. The 28%ers felt entitled to still having it their way because they did for the past eight years-THEY LOST. The elected officials of the NO party thought that the wars would be a winner for a war hero---THEY LOST. And Fox, after outwardly promoting the NO partys' candidate, had a reputation to uphold being they are the highest rated cable news channel, well, THEY LOST.

Looks like the LOSERS of the NO party are getting together to wallow in their TEA(R)s.

The NO party reminds me of Sgt. Schultz of Hogan's Heroes...WE SEE NOTHING, WE HEAR NOTHING, WE KNOW NOTHING. The party of NO has lost its THING.

An aside to Dem2020, with your permission, I would like to send your last posting to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette as an editorial--or you should do it. You can do it on-line. I am permitted one every 60-90 days. They do verify your name etc. It is something they may be willing to print.

That they are sore losers is a given; Jesus, the nation had a Presidential Election stolen right out from under them, and it was Business as Usual in February 2001.  These guys lose a fair election by a big margin, so they take to the streets right away to protest- Um, what was it again? Oh yeah- Socialism! Marxism!  Fascism!  Barack Osama Hussein Obama!  Whatever Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity and FNC tells me to protest!

I mean, did you see that sign- Barack Hussein Obama, Commander in Thief! I mean, wow, what wit!  Clearly well thought out, that guy's family must be so proud!

There's an article that McClatchy News is running as their Top Story today, it's entitled:

"What's dropping as much as GM stock? GOP approval rating"

Now, as much as that might sound like an opinion piece or commentary, it is not: it seems that polls are showing a sharp dip in the last month, a dip from what was already a very low approval rating of Congressional Republicans. The article also outlines the foolishness of the "Republican Budget", and how that fell flat on it's foolish face, and how nobody cared. Also, how nobody at all seems to be presently driving the wreck that is the Republican Party right now. There's more to the article, written by David Lightman (he's very good, I regularly read McCatchy and him: and no, he's not the David Lightman who hacked the WOPR computer in the movie "War Games"):

      http://www.mcclatchydc.com/227/story/65895.html

And I'd point out again, key to saying that you want something to happen, is describing what it is you want: and almost always in the case of American Politics, expressing what you want is accompanied by a support of someone, who you want to represent you, and get the thing done, in Congress or wherever... and so again, what do these people want, what are they in favor of, and most importantly, WHO DO THEY SUPPORT, WHO IS THEIR REPRESENTATIVE?

      Congressional Republicans?

      rush limbaugh?

      newt gingrich?

Or perhaps George W. Bush and Dick Cheney?

      WHO?

These people who are being whipped up by Fux, they're just expressing crazy hatred, if they can't answer those questions.

And sure Prince, use my words if you like, no problem.

There will be all sorts of sane people covering this from a sane angle.  Can you imagine the mileage someone like Michael Moore will be able to get from this.  He is shooting a documentary right now on the Financial meltdown so I can guarantee you he will have cameras out there shooting the nut jobs and getting some amazing soundbites.
