Colbert is absolutely brilliant!!
Well... okay... his writers are! But only Colbert could have acted out the script so brilliantly!
Considering that FoxNoise has supposedly about 8? 10? million?? watchers? and what...maybe... 100,000 (if that) showed up nationwide for these stupid little wastes of time "tea bagging" parties...
Some of the video clips I've seen show the vast majority of the people that did show up seem to be some of the most racist, vile, and ignorant people of our society!
It's impossible to over-estimate the importance of laughing at these people, laughing right at their stupid faces.
It's also impossible to over-estimate both the value of satire, and the brilliance of the absolute leading edge of political and social and even media satire, Stephen Colbert.
I would suggest he qualify for and be given a Federal grant, an Endowment of the Arts grant, because of his value as a satirist to us... which would just be the fodder for one his hilarious sendups, where he'd probably refuse the grant, calling it just another case of the wasteful spending of "Artistic Stimulus Funds", and instead perhaps ask for a tax break for satirists (because as we all know, the same crowd that rails against stimulus spending, pleads for tax breaks: isn't a tax break the same thing as an economic stimulus?).
Anyway, State of the Art satire, from about the only person on television who does that thing, that invaluable political and social and even media thing.
