CNN's No Bias, No Bull hosts Watergate criminal and radio host G. Gordon Liddy to discuss Bush administration torture memos

As Media Matters for America has detailed, Liddy served four and a half years in prison in connection with his conviction for his role in the Watergate break-in and the break-in at the office of the psychiatrist of Daniel Ellsberg, the military analyst who leaked the Pentagon Papers. Liddy has acknowledged preparing to kill someone during the Ellsberg break-in "if necessary"; plotting to kill journalist Jack Anderson; plotting with a "gangland figure" to kill Howard Hunt to stop him from cooperating with investigators; plotting to firebomb the Brookings Institution; and plotting to kidnap "leftist guerillas" at the 1972 Republican National Convention -- a plan he outlined to the Nixon administration using terminology borrowed from the Nazis. (The homicide, firebombing, and kidnapping plots were never carried out; the break-ins were.) During the 1990s, Liddy reportedly instructed his radio audience on multiple occasions on how to shoot Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms agents and also reportedly said he had named his shooting targets after Bill and Hillary Clinton.

      Crimina  ??!!  Why isn't he on Obama's cabinet ?!?!  That's the first criteria to being nominated.

        Geitner didn't use turbo tax.  All you are telling this thread by snarking that he did is that you are a Sean Hannity butt boy who will go on websites and bleat his "clever" arguments.

        Come back when you have some ideas of your own.  I won't be holding my breath.  You are probably too busy patting yourself on your back for Sean's---errr- your "wittiness."

        Geitner paid the taxes back. I believe he did "pay" for the crime.

          Driving drunk and leaving the scene of an accident are crimes. Not to mention vehicular homicide. If that happened to anyone else they would have been in jail. But in Mass a Kennedy can even get away with murder. What do you think of a person who goes home to bed to sleep it off rather than summmon help. He let that woman die.

            And, in America, apparently our President can not only take advice on torture from a lawyer whose only defense of his memo was that there would be medical personnel in the room, therefore, its not torture, but nominate that man to be a judge. For life.

               Of course since he went home to sleep it off there are no test results available, just the word of witnesses.  I have seen a number of people rip into Bush for his DUI, but I wonder how those same people can admire a man who went to sleep while a woman died in his car.                       Farrar thrust himself through the open window and into the car. Looking up, he found the body of a young woman. Her head was cocked back, her face pressed into the footwell. Both hands gripped the front edge of the back seat to hold herself in conformity with its upholstered contours. It was not the position assumed by a person knocked unconscious by the impact of a crash, Farrar said. "If she had been dead or unconscious, she would have been prone, sinking to the bottom or floating on top. She definitely was holding herself in a position to avail herself of the last remaining air that had to be trapped in the car."

      Wow. You guys are easy to troll. What you want to do is see the troll for what it is first, and then deny it power. That's how it works in message boards like this, and how it works in the media in general. MMA pushes on, trying to keep a level head in the midst of the trolls of the media, and so commenters here should learn from their example.

      Here's the deal: Why do media outlets think it's a good idea to bring jerks like Liddy on their stage, without mentioning the fact that they're convicted felons who committed partisan crimes for a previous administration?

      If they had brought out Liddy in that context, it would have actually been interesting, and might have yielded some insight. "Now let's hear from the convicted felon who has a history of contempt for civil rights.... G. Gordon Liddy!" Instead, they forced one of their guests to play that hand, which shows that they don't really care much about their guests.
