It's true that these Fux routinely use words in a way that attempts to redefine them: if you take the word "fascist", and keep using that word to describe Joe, then after some time the people who keep hearing that word associated with Joe (especially children, who almost exclusively infer the meanings of words from hearing the context those words are used in), they more and more think the word "fascist" has something to do with Joe.
And if you're also referring to these Fuxs habit of calling other people the very same names that seem to apply to them, that's true also: their whole existence seems based entirely on the slavish service to those who hold wealth and power, and on a slavish advocacy of any and all principles held by those who hold wealth and power (principles such as deregulation and less or no capital gains taxes and less or no estate taxes), and that right there (a slavish subservience to power) is a key property to fascism.
And about the only thing that separates the fascism of these Fux from other more historical instances of it, is that they are not true nationalists, but just pretended ones... and it is not truly any government authority they support, unless that authority and power is held by their masters: otherwise, they oppose the authority of government, until such time as their masters can claim it.
I say I just described a kind of fascism that pretends to nationalism, but truly cares only for themselves and their place in the nation... a kind of fascism that has no real interest in the authority of government, unless they or their masters have that authority themselves...
I say I just described these Fux: that's them in a nutshell, pretending to be nationalists, but only as a tool and technique to appeal to the People of the Nation... and advocating Law and Government, but only when they or their masters hold that power and authority... and all of this fascism being worked by a specially selected class, specially selected by their masters, to slavishly and subserviently work 24/7, toward the advancement of their masters, and toward the principles they hold dear.
Fascism.
The Fux News channel: it's a serious threat to our Democracy, and it's just an oppresive modern day capitalist's fascism.
Huckabee called Gitmo a hotel? Disgusting.
And Doozey, please provide and example where any info we got from torture saved lives.
And this particular supposed issue of interrogation techniques and "torture" and "waterboarding", it's all just a dead-end, and it's stuff that's being used to antagonize you, and make you appear sympathetic to, and even supportive of, "detainees" and "terrorism suspects" and whatever else you could be baited into blindly defending without any real knowledge of particulars, or any real knowledge at all!
This is their issue. They keep brining it up. And they always refer to "those on the left" when they bring it up": "President Obama is being pressured by those on the left, regarding torture etc."
It's bullchit.
It is presently meant to alienate you from the millions and millions of sensible Americans who simply want to be protected from ending up like the three thousand Americans who were murdered on September 11 2001. And they would never sacrifice any protection in this matter, or sacrifice any American life, in the name of or for the principle of something that could be called the rights of "detainees" or "terrorism suspects".
When this issue was being discussed during the Bush administration, and so much noise was being made about it, it was just a vague diffuse venting for how much people mistrusted and even hated George W. Bush and Dick Cheney. But the administration has passed from them, to a President we trust and support. All of the obligations and authority of Law enforcement are now his, and there is no reason for us to blindly oppose Law enforcement or for us to ignorantly think we can micro-manage (in the media no less) the activities of the CIA and the FBI and the NSA and others, when those agencies and departments are now in trustworthy hands.
This is a dead-end, you're being baited... the people in the media who are baiting you, are calling you "the left": that means they're painting you as backward, and as being against Law enforcement and against the security of the nation and against the prevention of a "terror attack" and against the protection of American lives.
It's a dead-end issue, ignore it, move past it, you have not the information about it to discuss it sensibly... in truth you possess no information at all in this matter, outside of the vague and strange nonsense the media feeds you.
There's a new administration, a new Sheriff in town: if you trust and support him, then leave this idiotic micro-managing in the media of the CIA and FBI, leave it alone... you're just being baited on this issue.
Appalling.
I have nothing to add; I'm still trying to pick my jaw up off the floor.
